Sometimes I wonder if I would have prefered the newer and a little classier M. But that z06 is a violent wildabeast that crushes m cars so I guess Im happy. That M coupe was a great test drive though. So tight, so perfect. A very well built car.

I love M3s, but most of the people who buy them are not real enthusiasts and just dont have that m passion that they should. My z06 is the first car ive had that isnt a BMW so I really hate the bluetooth wearing marketing graduates who buy the M cars.

@doenaman audi can most deffinetly build engines, they are probably the closest thing next to a BMW, the only factors in this race were 1 weight the BMW weighs FAR less than an RS4, and 2 the RS4 is AWD so there will be more drivetrain losses as well

BTW Audi really can build engines, especially the 4.2 V8 of the RS4 is very tough, so that Gumpert, Spyker...used it in their own models and pumped it on nearly twice of the power like in the Apollo Sport!
It doesn't have the CSL engine. It has a revised engine block derived from the S54 lump used in the normal E46 M3. The lump in the Z4 M is supposed to better (not power wise than the E46 M3 but more reliable) as the M3 suffered the bearing engine failure related issues whereas there was not a single instance of this in the Z4 M blocks due to the slight differences. Both had same power though but the Z4 M had the better performance than the M3 due to it's lighter weight by nearly 150kgs.
@caseyryeback1913 The s54 Engine was not revised purely for the Z4M, any 03+ M3/Z4M has the same block with updated shells/conrod bolts, so any S54 engined car prior to 03 could potentially suffer from bearing shell failure (e.g. M3's/limited run of Z3M's). The Z4M does not have a 'superior' lump.

Actually, I don't even know. First of all, you can't deny that Lexus has great reliability. Also, as far as I can see, the IS350/IS-F are better/faster cars than the S4/RS4. The GS350/450h/460 also has better reliability, and it is faster than the A6 (not RS6 tho), and the LS is just better than the A8 in every way. Also no Audi can beat the new LF-A, yes, not even the R8 V10. Audi overhypes their cars, and people like you fall for it. Audi just isn't that good as you think.

You do know about weight affecting performance? Race should have been against the TTRS. As in a like for like race. Love the way Mboard put the RS4 upagainst M5 / M6 when it should be the RS6. If you can't win fair, you can't win.

The new next-gen quattro actually isnt locked so the car is actually RWD driven , with the computer putting the power on other wheels if theres little traction. so it has a better power output and also achieves a little better top speed because power actually goes to the rear wheels :D

Well technically there is v6 where all the cylinders are situated in a single bank. Similar to a inline 6. It can be described as a "staggered six". VR comes from V-Motor and Reihenmotor. By using only 15 degrees between each row of three cylinders you can use only one cylinder head and block.

I am not aware of any RS4 from the factory that has ever got with 20bhp of Audi's claimed figures on a reputable rolling road. Most are well down on the quoted numbers, mine being no exception. Most Z4/M3's show between 330bph and 340bhp so much closer to BMW's stated numbers, and they are lighter too. Sorry for not being biased, I know that's not the done thing on YouTube...

07 RS4 weights 3900lbs and makes about 335 all wheel HP. Thats 169hp per ton
07 3.0 Coupe weights 3100lbs and makes about 225 rear wheel HP. Thats 145hp per ton.

yes i own a 2001 z3. never had any problem with it. my father owns a z4 and a 760. never any problems. maybe you just dont know how to properly take care of cars. and if you know your cars, you'd know that audi has received multiple complaints about their dash and their electronics. so by saying bmw has those problems, you are making a very poor statement. congratulations on your friend owning a m3, but that doesn't make your argument credible. think twice next time you call me ignorant

Actually, I don't even know. First of all, you can't deny that Lexus has great reliability. Also, as far as I can see, the IS350/IS-F are better/faster cars than the S4/RS4. The GS350/450h/460 also has better reliability, and it is faster than the A6 (not RS6 tho), and the LS is just better than the A8 in every way. Also no Audi can beat the new LF-A, yes, not even the R8 V10. Audi overhypes their cars, and people like you fall for it. Audi just isn't that good as you think.

z4m is from 2004 the tt rs is from 2009 .. so 5 year later audi managed to make a faster car..of course by using turbochargers typical for audi... wow

You do know about weight affecting performance? Race should have been against the TTRS. As in a like for like race. Love the way Mboard put the RS4 upagainst M5 / M6 when it should be the RS6. If you can't win fair, you can't win.

from a standing start; the audi WILL get off the line faster and in the wet. Anyway whats your point, I think you'll find that everything I said still stands and that I made no mention of the M3. I have an RS4, trust me if you were in an M3 I would beat you on the track. you need to be a spectacular driver to get the best from an M3 but you can be a good driver to get the best from the audi since i realise im good, not spectacular i take the audi. i watched 3 series crash in the snow today

The new next-gen quattro actually isnt locked so the car is actually RWD driven , with the computer putting the power on other wheels if theres little traction. so it has a better power output and also achieves a little better top speed because power actually goes to the rear wheels :D

davecom3 , sure it doesnt come to higher than 400hp its because its a 4WD car so it losses the power very quickly , while at the flywheel it produces around 418hp, it still has to do with the power output of the quattro , ive also been driven in the new S4 which has the next-gen quattro system witch isnt locked at 60:40 ratio like this one has , it has soo much better power output just bcuse of the next-gen quattro , so im waiting for the new RS4 :D LOVE BOTH CARS

Well technically there is v6 where all the cylinders are situated in a single bank. Similar to a inline 6. It can be described as a "staggered six". VR comes from V-Motor and Reihenmotor. By using only 15 degrees between each row of three cylinders you can use only one cylinder head and block.

I am not aware of any RS4 from the factory that has ever got with 20bhp of Audi's claimed figures on a reputable rolling road. Most are well down on the quoted numbers, mine being no exception. Most Z4/M3's show between 330bph and 340bhp so much closer to BMW's stated numbers, and they are lighter too. Sorry for not being biased, I know that's not the done thing on YouTube...
