@Nightblade2222 That's true, I didn't notice. I thought he may have SP on the backhand so that's why his attacking on the backhand was good. But now I see he twiddled :)
@ytchiening Highly doubt it. The weakness of Jap players are their power, they tend to choose those players that are agile, but meanwhile small and lack in power. Those Chinese kids will enhance their power pretty easily since they have bigger frames and can easily pack on muscle, after that their shot will be much harder to handle for the japs, give the Chinese players are fundamental advantage over them.
@jsjw2 the new table tennis is you can birng the ball all times back, power is not really importent. you can see all nations of young players, they playing this styl, also the chinese. this styl was begin by waldner, persson and appelgren....
@ytchiening hmm i don't know about that..... its true to some extent, but power is still incredibly important. If you don't have power, its hard for you to present an offensive threat to your opponent. Its why a lot of the japanese players have been stuck in limbo. In order to be a really top player, you need a good combination of the three main areas of table tennis, speed, spin, and power.
@ytchiening Yeah i am going to have to agree with jsjw2. Thus far, all the supposed future best of Japan have disappointed. Seiya and Kenta have been pretty mediocre. Kenta is young so he can still probably change his game a little, but overall his blocking style has its limitations. Mizutani has been the only one who has been kind of impressive, and even then he almost never beats the Chinese. The Chinese choose to large hide their players from international play compared with japan
I wonder who coaches Liu Yi...I know china are more than able to produce very greatly skilled choppers, but who would coach them?
