This game was also released for the Game Boy Deluxe in 1999, with modifications from this platform. The black screen you see loading the levels after completing a level or after choosing how many players will play has been replaced with the world map for entry to all of the levels that maintain the Mushroom Kingdom. When you die, you return to the world map to try the level again. Instead of having three lives to start the game in NES, you start with 5 lives in the Deluxe version.

I have this game on Game Boy Advance. And, after beating the game, there's a harder version where Goombas (mushroom enemies) turn into Buzzy Beetles (black beetles difficult to kill). In the harder version, you can get many extra lives in the beginning of World 2-1 by stomping on Buzzy Beetle repeatedly on the first step. This trick is very hard to do (Regular Mario) as it took me several times to get it right, but it is possible if you stomp him just right. Note that this only works in...

As far as I know, there is an official Game Boy Advance version of Super Mario Bros. It's basically the same game as the NES game. Here's another tip. On 3-1 and 7-1, it's best to do this 1-UP trick by either letting the first one pass by (7-1 especially) or by stomping it and sending it to the pit (3-1) while you stomp the second one repeatedly. I don't have an online video of me doing this myself (as I haven't figured out how to send videos online yet), but I can look for someone who...
