thats pinan ninan not pinan shodan im 13 and i know that cause i no what pinan shodan goes like cause im a green belt and pinan shodan is a green belt Kata
@vickyy12341 I think some styles are reversing the order of the katas instead of keeping the names straight. This kata was required at my school(matsubayashi-ryu) to attain green belt.
@Serenegrasshopper oh ok i am a green belt now ive got 3 stripes on my belt and im going to have my grading on the 4th feb so i can get my blue belt i got karate 2morrow my karate teacher said if i do well then he might give me my grading form or whatever but im really nervous :/
that was good but first of all he needs to double block when he does gedan barai on his turns, and when he spears he needs to keep his arms locked when he spears, or else he has no power
Not trying to be big headed but it looks like you train in wado-ryu karate! one school of thought is that the westen mind would find it harder to pick up kata and as most instructors teach low block ,reverse punch ect.. to beginners, The knife hand blocks and the like ie the 1st 3 moves of pian shodan seemed harder to teach!! so some schools ,ryu, kai, kan ect.. changed the order so this kata to some people should be pian nidan and pian shodan is the next kata. But sho is 1 ni is 2 my head hurts!!
yeah you're actually perfectly correct. in wado ryu they teach this one for the your second kata because Hironori Ōtsuka felt that this kata was easier to teach than the next. so for was wado people it's pinan nidan.
i know what your saying, but if you think in counting wise ichi ni, nidan is 2nd and shodan is basically lesser or in this case 1st. in my style its also called pinan nidan and we do it first and shodan is second
Nice kata but at 0:31SEC Watch on right before turn. because you never see what you need to do! And your not a robot , make sequence when you do it. It's comment for help not blast :) . Good training.
in the early 1900's this kata was called pinan nidan then over the years they kept changing the name of it but atm i beleive its called pinan nidan, but i dont see any harm in what ur doing oos
It could be the uploader mislabled the video. Most concur that is pinan nidan.

This is considered Shodan in other styles people. In my style, its Pinan Nidan, but in newzealandmanxxx's style, they consider it Pinan Shodan.
