Glad you're alive and well and uploading. No judgements passed here, but it HAD to sting to be sitting next to a totalled bike while those slower bikers you passed eventually putted by..
(Nice thing about wrecking at the track is everyone there rides balls out). Wrecked a few times myself and definitely can relate-- best of luck to you, kermitdfrogzx10-- thanks for sharing.
What the point in having frame sliders if you're just going to take them off the second you do serious riding? If you're scraping frame sliders on the street, then you're riding at a professional level.
man.. chopping the throttle a little to much... needs to be a bit smoother.. Makes it easier if you were to make a mistake.. But we live and learn.. I've been down in my day not going to lie.. :) damn foot peg! lol
I have pics and I plan on putting together a slideshow but havent gotten around to it yet. Just imagine an 09 ZX10 with no upper or rear fairings and a severely twisted subframe :-)
@ryderluke Hey dumbass, this is how people learn from mistakes. They don't deserve comments like the original one u put up. Quit being a douchebag to people who make mistakes. And btw, we don't all like riding harleys at 15 mph, jackass.
@ryderluke relax baby... if I were him I would speed too.. roads are clear.. nobody is driving there so why not speeding?? at the end if anyone gonna crash it's okay at least people learn from these mistakes
@kermitdfrogzx10 don't let him get u too upset kermit. people like ryderluke will always talk trash when they can hide behind the safety of their computer monitors! it isn't worth it
@ryderluke awww it's that time of the month lol... My time is too precious to insult you thoroughly, so why don't you go change your tampon before you bleed a river.
man that sucks. I know the dragon very well and i know where you wrecked the road banks to the right making the lean angle a bit more than usual...meaning you had less tire on the ground. To fix that you can hang off and stay low, or just slow up for that turn. I chose to hang off a little more to keep the bike a little more upright. best of luck to you next time and as far as all the morons saying bad stuff on here, its just people looking to mix the pot. hope you and your bike are ok.
Had my first Low side just like that on Hwy 28 2 min from the resorts. Had 2 gopro's on my bike and forgot to turn them on Lol i have a video on my page with a pic of the bike after the accident at the end
I might be a retard here, but don't the rearsets fold? they do on my bike, and I used to scrape them every now and again until i swapped with smaller ones to avoid the scraping... will still scrape before I fall, though...
@NorcanDiaboli He had aftermarket rearsets, Vortex I beleive, and they were the nonfolding type. He had hit them several times before but that corner is a decreasing radius and off camber so the comination of all three caused the crash.
@kermitdfrogzx10 ..yep your right. I heard 'em scratching and that is exactly why I wouldn't want em on a bike especially on the Dragon. If he had stocks likely would not have crashed. Aftermarkets I would use on a track. You were gone lol.. though when did you realize he went down?
Fuck. That sux. I was on the dragon last may. That's an intense 11 miles. I cringed at the end of this video, for I too have experienced that once myself. It's not pleasant. How messed up was the bike and rider?
good vid man and glad to hear hes ok. just laugh at these haters. i guess they are mad because they finally got a high tech sportbike when they were 50!
Well take your stupid crotch rockets to the track and race them there!!!! Don't ride like that on public roads!!! I live in Gatlinburg and see the crotch rockets riding this way all the time. I had one a couple of days ago on the Spur he kept tailgating me I was going 55 and I guess that wasn't fast enough for him, so I brake checked him. I love motorcycles and enjoy riding them. But I love watching the idiots eat pavement
@SmokyMtnTech you should have just slowed down and he would have past you without problem. but congrats to you for acting like an a-hole just like the riders you complain about!

I seen the crash.... HAAAHHHAAAHHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHH! I wish people who ride like this on public roads don't get back up from accidents like these. When you ride like this on the street you are not only endangering the lives of all motorist around you, but your own life. I just got a 2011 GSX-R 1000 last month. I have over 10 years of road experience, all I can say is what were you thinking? At those angles on public roads even a slight dusting of sand can be your downfall. Hope u nvr ride agn.
Thanks for all the love. Just think, while all of your squidly friends are standing around ooo-ing and aaahhhh-ing over your blinged out 2011 GSX-R 1000 and commenting about how awesome you are, especially with 10 years road experience, me and my friends will be out tearing up the track, and a few public roads endagering the lives of everyone, on our sportbikes riding them like they were ment to be ridin.
BTW, they make three wheeled scooters that might suit your 10 years road experience a little better, they will never reach angles extreme enough for a light dusting of sand to cause any problems.
@rhettly and i hope you sir, lose your bike in a very smilar fashion, and become a vegitable and can never ride ro walk or do anything again so that you can fully understand the stupidity that spewed forth from your oxygen breathing face. if he wanted to ride like that, he would get a harley, a T-Rex or some other motorcycle sub-type, rather then a street bike. i know plenty of people that do that. shit happens. learn your place and never hope another rider never gets back up.
"his rear set drags..." Should of said "he out rode the limits of ground clearance, safety, good judgement, and his ability." Things like this happen because of the rider. NOT the motorcycle.
I agree, a US Highway is not the "VENUE" for riding like that. You can't ride 10/tenths everywhere and survive. Sooner not later, your number will be up. And more likely than not, it will involve an innocent person(s).
@ballparkweiner1 More than likely, No. Ive been riding for almost 10 years with alot of people, ive seen accidents, had them, heard plenty of stories. Not once has a fellow rider hurt, or even hit another person. Who do you even see on that road that they could hurt? I would agree that its possible, but likely, no.
@rhettly Well how in the fuck dare you! Do you have any idea how many hours this rider has spent studying the likes of Rossi, Stoner, Pedrosa, Hayden, And Lorenzo push the limits much harder? Think twice before you tell an advanced novice how to negotiate a fucking apex you squid! youll never get anywhere near a paddock with that conservative attitude.
Glad you're alive and well and uploading. No judgements passed here, but it HAD to sting to be sitting next to a totalled bike while those slower bikers you passed eventually putted by..

Any suggestions when riding the Dragon? I have frame sliders, before I go should they come off?
JAW8383 2 weeks ago
@JAW8383
Keep them on, the only way they will contact the road is if you crash.

Either ride with respect toward others, or stay the fuck home.
Us locals are fed up with reckless driving on the dragon. I even know of several who pour motor oil in the curves.
