@TheHamster88 i thought that but wanted to look down here first! a 1.75 and a happy meal a day thats it! id still watch it though even though it look biberish
actually, elbow and grapple techniques are only forbidden in WTF taekwondo competitions, as it had to be massively watered down to be accepted in the olympic games...... This is the most famous version of tkd which is why people think tkd only has kicks.... but the traditional form contains elbow, knee and even grappling moves
Wow the acting!!!! Let me see now......mmmmm......How can I hang an air freshener on this.....The acting makes the movie look like a porno without the sex!
@Broxty Martial arts knows no age or gender discrimination . There is no style better than any other style, just one fighter being better than another fighter.
i´m talking about competition rules. what you do in your training, like destroying eyes or using your knee or whatever, can be different and has the intention to learn how to defend yourself...
forbidden? the tkd class i'm in teaches throws out of the white belt wrist release techniques... no reason to grab an arm and NOT put your oppenent on the ground. as for elbows... we are told not to use them in free sparring. the idea is to not kill each other in practice. we are allowed to use them in one-step. Most TKD fighters i've seen think their flashy high kicks are going to work in real life. they won't. my teacher understands that, and shows the other parts of the style as well.
Uh what? I'm a black belt in TKD and Elbow Strikes are THE most important strike in the close range game. We are taught that elbows have deadly potential due to the cutting nature that the sharp edge of the elbow gives. Furthermore, there are TONS of TKD throws, from frog launches to centrifugal twists to hip throws and leg pops. TKD is MUCH more expansive than the olympics, that's for show and demonstration the best kicks of any martial art.
You actually wish it was. The normal stance in Muai Thai doesn't allow you to perform a kick that is nearly as powerful as a Taekwondo Kick which has a lower stance. Just because Tong Po appeared in a movie kicking a concrete pillar in slow motion doesn't mean that MT has the most powerful kicks in the world.
And whatever your talking about stance is just dumb
Muay thai makes you spin on your toe/ tip of your foot the higher
you get the more effective while with a twist on the hip before delivery
the Muay Thai round house kick is better implemented then the "TK kick" which by the way you didn't explain what kind of kick your talking about, kinda shows how ignorant you are.
First of all bra is something that probably your mommy wears to hold her titties.
Fight science? The power of a fighter depends on the fighter and in his technique. You can't compare martial arts, you can only compare fighters. Tuitt-chaguy is pretty devenstating nonetheless.
@avanara i agree, i know this thirteen year old girl, we were in the same class, she friggin stomped my ass, i know a mix of arts and mainly tae kwon do, i got destroyed lol
@not3but1 How wrong you are. Fight science ain't shit when you compare fighters. Of course, having a certain style may give you an advantage in the ring, but in a brawl, that won't have anything to do with it.
@Affenpuff It's not forbidden. In real Taekwondo it's allowed sins from the beginning. I dont know why they dont use it but i think it's stuped not using it.
@TheDeadfear definitely it is forbidden in taekwon-do sparring to throw the opponent or use the ellbow. what you use in self defence depends on your choice, but in sparring it is forbidden for a good reason: ellbow techniques are very powerful and thus they can seriously hurt the opponent. that shouldn´t be the case so it is forbidden. throws are no standard tkd techniques so they´re omitted as well
@Affenpuff lol if your not on on the sport part of tkd of course you can do what you want, using the full arsenal of tkd.. sport tkd is safe but for both fighters but if you fighting different ppl then its time to mix it up..
@JDL8807207 this film is about fighting in the ring, so it's about fighting competition. i've just said that it deals with mma fights rather than tkd fights...
@Affenpuff No it's not. It won't earn you any points in taekwondo sparring, but if you're talking about combat taekwondo, there's plenty of uses of throwing, elbows, and knees.
@wasabi622 how often will i have to explain this? this video is about fighting competition. it's about mma competition rather than tkd competition. this video has nothing to do with taekwon-do, actually
@Affenpuff I was just referring to the part when you said "to throw the opponent and to use the elbow is forbidden in tkd", which is an inaccurate statement.
@Affenpuff actually, elbows are by no means forbidden in tkd. My instructor actually loves elbows and knees. and judo is often mixed with tkd to cover what each discipline lacks. So throwing is not always frowned upon... at least, not in self defense.
@Parkinstarkey i wonder how often i will have to say that i was talking about competition and not self defense. this video shows fights in the ring with a referee, right? so why should i talk about self defense???
@Affenpuff ya know, i just typed a long comment freaking out about that comment from 1 year ago... then before posting it read this one... you are very correct, and i feel like a moron.
@Affenpuff I've been doing TKD awhile now. And the one thing my instructor can't stress enough is that the proper use of knee's and elbows is essential. Mind you my style does differ from Traditional TaeKwonDo slightly, so i can't comment on the traditional rules
LOL get ready for Gary Busey's triumphant return to the big screen! or the bargain bin.
