my opinion about Apples have been waning as I've haven't seen any of the new ones in years, and some techie friends have told me that they've been going down hill since allieing with Intel.
I am about to see for myself once and for all at this place that has them incredibly cheap (and seems legit under scrutiny):
They are only for 10 bucks here + referalls, you may want to see for yourselves.
My birthday is coming up,its october 8th,right now I have an Ipad and I hate it,should i buy a new macbook or wait to see if the new 2012 ones comeout?
@Ddando11 wait till the one in 2012, well you birthday has already passed, but the one in 2012 will probably be the same price and they will probaly lower the price of the recent ones
@SybowLikesXbox waste of money its too light very easy to break the processor specs are piddly dont get it...i jsut bought the macbook pro 17 inch well worth the extra few hundred the specs are almost %40 better than the 15 inch :)
One question for who can help. Im in college doing photography business and i need a laptop, i was thinking about a MBP or MBA also what size is the best option for me? Please let me know and money is not an issue. Thanks!
Brilliant video. Regarding the glossy screens, what do you think of screen covers to deal with it, such as those from kbcovers dot com? (A site I had recommended)
Pcs are more compatable with softwares that are used to clean computers and take memory off computers that have viruses, I know some computer companies won't even try with macs, however I think macs have much better set up and quality.
@johnny4631 lol i love poeple like your self. your a hypocrit and probably have never used a mac. im not bashing pcs because i have one as well as my mac but pcs will never live up to the quality of a mac. hands down macs are better. esspecially for my buisness in making alot of films ;-)
Too me you sound like kipkay but quick question: I'm kinda new to Mac but my school has some old Mac I was thinking of getting MacBook pro for Christmas buy you said early 2011 so I'm guessing a new one will comebout later. So would I still be able to get the early 2011 version and even so would the later 2011 be a better buy?
ANSWER QUESTION PLEASE !!! ANSWER QUESTION PLEASE !!! ANSWER QUESTION PLEASE !!! ANSWER QUESTION PLEASE !!! when ur battery is finished charging while plugged in to the magsafe do it still use the battery or direct power from the wall???
I bought the 13inch version of this laptop and the graphical performance is not good. So if you want a MacBook pro that has good graphical performance, don't buy the 13inch model.
Thunderbolt will fail tbh, it's Apple only currently.. USB 3.0 will be better used as it's backward-compatible and will have more support in the future.
All the MacBook Air's have come out with that style of Magsafe. There was a shipment of 13" unibody MacBooks that came out in May 2009 that came with it too, but I think that was a supply issue and was never repeated.
I agree that the new style flat presentation Magsafe is miles better than the adjacent form we've all been used to. I love it in the Air.
Hey Mike when do you think the next Macbook Pro will come out? I'm planning on buying one but I don't want to buy one when they get a new one out a few months later like the last time I bought one...
@Devikvampire This IS the Macbook Pro... and just got revamped a few months ago. I bought the late 2009 model in early 2010... within 3 months they came out with a newer version. From mine to this one the only things that changed were the processor and the mini display port (it does not support audio, but I have an adapter that plugs both into the MDP and the USB... and is now the Thunderbolt port. So, unless they do a complete revamp, I think you'll be happy. Resale value is great too!
hey i need some help. would you get a 17 inch if it was your only computer even if you had an apple cinema display and you didnt have any accessories yet.
i dont think the computer uses the full 8gb which i bought with it. it uses same amount of memory on background, dissapointed, and when rendering full hd video, there is few seconds faster on 8gb but i dont think it was worth it really
Very informative! I've been looking to upgrade my late '08 MBP 15". Looking for a quad core, i7 myself. I believe that new magsafe design came from the first MBA.
Thanks so much for this awesome review; as always, you have a very classy and intelligent prospective. For months I've been torn between which Apple computer to purchase. I don't care for all in one set ups and the Mac mini coupled with a 27" LED Cinema display seemed limited (Core 2 Duo processor). I've already heavily invested in a Systemax PC, however I still desire a 2nd computer. Now I know just where I need to direct my next big tech purchase...MacBook Pro, here I come! Thanks Mike!
But their hard drive seems slower than windows built laptops .. running only maximum to 7200rpm or even worst 5400rpm which is very slow in this generation
If only they willing to let us upgrade to SSD
Other than the hardrive issue , everything are awesome, specially the thunderbolt file transfer .
Tested on my friends computer and it transfer 1TB in just 30 secs.
@Moonface00z You can on BTO. Apple's prices actually seem competitive for SSD, assuming they're using a decent drive. Either way, an aftermarket upgrade is relatively easy.
@Kerickryantv Big difference is probably the Thunderbolt and new chips. I'd guess no unless you really need the additional performance or down the road find a significant use for Thunderbolt. Facetime HD doesn't do anything for me... you can always get an external webcam for $100 rather than buy a whole new computer. Nice to have, but not an upgrade factor.
@wwwinsanelygreatmac i do a daily vlog and eat up my hard drive like crazy. ( did im on vacation so i stopped for a lil bit) i and my macs have been threw a lot of traveling. and are just getting slow i think i have 4 and then a 250 Gig hard drive so im think about ether getting a mac pro or new macs all together.
I have the 13'' MacBook Pro from early 2010, and i love it! :) I just upgraded it to 8GB RAM and a Solid State Drive from OWC. Boot up time is 15-16 seconds! :D I hope you enjoy your new MacBook Pro, and nice video as always :)
