He is so creative with his head movement and strikes that no one can predict what hes going to do. His size? The majority of fighters move DOWN weight classes to have a size advantage. Its not cowardly, its smart. Look what happened to Mir at ufc 100, better fighter lost simply because Lesnar is a beast.
I don't think he is the best, but hes up there. He doesnt have the wrestling pedigree that Fedor or GSP have. Well Fedor is Sambo, but its takedowns. But Silva is the best striker in the game right now, and its hard to make an arguement that refutes that.

many people do move down but anderson skips a whole weight class to do it. and you can always make the argument that he is the best striker. but there are a few people such as lyoto machida that are arguably better. but of course you never know until they match up and i agree he is one of the top but most people are saying that anderson is the best but he is in my eyes the third best

I agree, hes behind Fedor and GSP.
Now, you need to look at aspects of striking. In terms of pure striking ability, Anderson has the edge. Undoubtedly. He is so creative with his head movement and strikes that no one can predict what hes going to do. Lyoto is unreal with his body movement and moving in and out, and he gets that from his Karate background.

what i mean by skips a weight class is that he walks around at like 220 or 230 i cant remember but he goes through the 205 weight class. now i could make that argument if he never fights at 205 but now that he fights at that weight class than he has proven that he doesnt win by pure size. and i think that beating forrest should have set him up for a title shot after rua and i say that lyoto will beat rua with ease so that will set up the ultimate super fight
