Just finished the 6.0 LQ9 swap and the tranny went! runs strong for a stock motor so far TQ convertor came apart and burned up the pump....another 1200.00 to add to the list!

I know what you mean about it being hard to drive it daily. I have a 68 with a built big block and a nasty cam with a 3000 stall. Its far from a daily driver. lol It doest look as good as yours but its a fast truck.

@Metallica1071991 These trucks with the 5.3 do not have any type of rev limiter until 5500 when the computer just make the tranny shift. Sometimes you can slip past it.

If you dont ask you dont know...A convertor on an auto trans has a rpm at wich it starts to move the truck...ie stock is around 700 or so a stall can be as high as 5000 before it starts to pull....good for high rpm high hp motors.

@aaronmatt84 also the heavier the vehicle, the looser (higher RPM engagement) u want the converter to be because the higher the RPM the more hp reaches the ground and u need that for heavier cars. idk but i thought id let u know that :) at least in drag racing thats true

fart can? jesus, i bet what chevyman8329 drives is a Cavalier, which has the same engine type as the average "fart can ricer" so he has no room to talk.

I'm a GM man myself, but somehow i ended up with a Ford F-450 SuperDuty... it's still nice, though. I've been getting stuff on it(Bilstein racing suspension, lowered, the thing's aerodynamics is epic now. the 0-60 has gotten smaller just by modding the aero.), and i just love it. I've raced my friend with his Honda Prelude, and i beat him.
