I'm an orange belt at the japanese canadian cultural centre, and we are hosting this year, me and my 2 sisters (both orange) were chosen for this kata. we have a 5 year winning streak...if we mess this up...omg.
@NCbudoka , specifically Motobu Choki through Kokuba Kosei. Not to be mixed up witht he Motobu Undi ti of Motobu Choyu which often is also misrepresented as Motobu-ha. To add 'ha' or 'hah' in on a ryu is to personalize that style. Any one can call their ryu a 'ha' after many years of adaptation to their preferences of application and waza.
Muy buena ejecución!! osshh

Exellent Kata! Now , see why the other masters added movements in the other directions in thier own styles. What style is this?
chapusa100 2 years ago
@chapusa100 .... I think it is Shorin Ryu ... or Shito Ryu ... definitely some sort of Okinawan style .
sweetfly66 1 year ago
@sweetfly66 NCbudoka says it is Motobu-Ha Shito Ryu, Sounds like it originates from Shuri-Te.

Nice kata, well executed.
I didn't realize there were so many version of Rohai - that's similar to the Wado ryu one, but different from the Matsumura one.
cottreau 4 years ago
I agree, there are probably more versions of this kata than there are moves in the kata !!!
