The 'Blessed Hope" is the coming of the Son of Man. He comes after the tribulation. Nowhere is the tribulation called the 7 year tribulation or is the 70th week of Daniel called the "7 Year Tribulation". Jesus comes after the "Abomination of Desolation" takes place. This occurs before the end of the 70th week. The church is not appointed the judgments of God's wrath...that is for the unbelieving world. Those day's of Great Tribulation will be shortened for the elects sake via rapture.

There is plenty of scriptural proof pointing to two raptures, the first is "Paralambano" for the Bride of Christ (not the church) and the second is "Harpazo," which "takes up" ALL remnant saints at the second coming. Jesus taught an early redemption of saints in the parable of the ten virgins, in which there is no second coming, no trumpet, no archangel, and no resurrection. The seventh angel was the seventh trumpet sounding and the mystery of God is finished. This occurs after the sun becomes black and the moon...

When you see these things coming to pass, look up for our redemption draweth nigh...our blessed hope...the return of our blessed savior who has promised to return for us either while we are still alive, or even if we've past on...That is our hope regardless of when he does.
That is what gives us peace and strength amidst calamity. Not that we'll escape trials or tribulations, but that he is going to return some day and we'll be taken to him.
Why do the pre-tribbers feel they can rip Daniel's 70th week away from the rest of his 69 and proceed to jam a 2000 years and growing gap in between? This gap is NOT warranted in scripture.
The tribulation happened as Jesus said it would before the close of the first century. The year was 70AD and Rome burned Jerusalem to the ground.
