@Nooch1682 I get the rule yet is pointing to the sky and walking towards your side of the field excessive or drawing attention to yourself? If pointing to the sky is the problem then what is the difference between that and holding up a fist in celebration or your finger like we're #1 any different? NFHS Rulebook: Rule 5.1.C says " Any delayed, excessive or prolonged act by which a player attempts to focus attention upon himself." Was both delayed and excessive. By the kid pointing to the sky, he might as well have been pointing to someone on the opposing team. Drawing attention to himself was why it was flagged. Follow the rules and you wont get flagged. PERIOD! Not like the coaching staff doesnt know the rules. Relay them to the students athletes and learn from mistakes.
