I'm not sure, but I think the "coconut man" is referencing "el cuco" which is a hispanic boogeyman. He's supposed to have a pumpkin or coconut or just a bare skull for a head. I'm guessing they had some kind of elderly hispanic person in their co-op or squat, and they or their friends stole the "house fund" to buy booze or drugs, and they got confronted by the guy with his sarcastic accusation.
