  • that's NOT an Axis... it's an EVH model look at the p/u switch! Who titles such discrepancies? I guess any idiot can post on utoobe!

  • that's NOT an Axis... it's an EVH model look at the p/u switch! Who posts this discrepancies?

  • what's the name of this backing track?

  • There's only room in this world for one Greg Howe. I didn't get it?

  • For those who keep asking, Its an EVH model, you can tell cause the pickup selector is on the forward bought, the Axis has the selector directly under the volume pot. A much better position in my opinion as it dosent get in the way when strumming.

Nice playing dude, you got soul!

  • i love that guitar i went to the the guitar shop down the street i can get one for 1600 and guy said its still a high end guitar

  • Great playing and tone! love that guitar too! (I think is an EVH not an Axis, but it´s your guitar so i´m maybe wrong!)

  • HAHAHA that's some goofy ass guitar face you got going on there man lol

  • is this model made in the indonesian plant or the usa san luois obispo plant

  • Those are some great Allan Holdsworth riffs. I just love his playing.

I'm seriously considering buying this guitar. Though I wish there was a tonal control knob...not that I'd use it very much...but still nice to have. Also wish it was still available in transgreen and transpurple. The transblue they offer for the Axis is gross...kind of a pastel baby blue. Yuck! For some reason the Musicman Sterling AX-40 (made in Japan version of the Axis) comes in a MUCH MORE striking tint of transblue.

  • the best thing in playing guitar is passion that sound gives and melody or progression that provides fell.

  • i've enjoyed your playing; with that said I want to ask how one goes about getting an endorsement with ernieball musicman. I am also curious how you record your guitar to make these wonderful videos; I've played guitar for many years but otherwise ignorant of technology. Is your tone from a mic'd amp or is it from an amp modeler?

  • @abelfierroIII i think if u can play and get recognize by the company and inspire others to buy from ernie ball they will endorse you the only reason why ernie ball endorsed eddie van halen was cause he was good and he could help the company make money which is key and he got recognized by them i heard it started with strings

  • Looks like a young Jackie Chan. lol

  • Very Awesome Playing & Performance, Alex!! Keep Up The Fantastic Job, My Good Friend!! A Huge Thumbs Up!! Rock On, Bro!!

  • is it axis or evh model guitar??

  • @kidsearch88 It's an old (original) EVH Musicman.

  • what scale is that?

  • hey i like the way u play brio congrats!!!!

  • hey i've been wondering this for a while, i know the wolfgang guitar isn't made by music man, but why does it look almost exactly like an axis?

  • @TheNosnawS It don't think it looks anything like the "Axis." I actually prefer the looks of the Peavey Wolfgang( not the EVH Wolfgang, ugh that damned headstock)to that of the EB/MM EVH/Axis, whatever you want to call it, but the EB/MM's sounds way better!!!

  • @redrocker1055 i agree, today i went to a guitar store and when seeing them together there was a clear difference, i guess that i put them together in my mind for whatever reason. And i agree that the axis definitely does sound better.

  • @TheNosnawS Wolfgang is the guitar by EVH.. His own guitar production.

  • @PBGlorious ..... of course i know that... i just thought that they looked strangely similar.

  • thats an early model ebmm cause of the where the pickup select switch is at

  • @mossberg451 It's either an EVH model or a custom shop Axis... Probably an EVH model thou!!!

  • @redrocker1055 It's an EVH Musicman. The original. :D

  • Really clean and smooth tone.

  • can you only get that tone with a humbucker pickup? becasue i have a single coil and i cant get anywhere close to this sweet tone!!

  • @glencunningtonr yes.. humbuckers do what the name says.. it reduces hum unlike a lot of single coils and by putting two singles together it also has a more fat and rich tone

  • cool

  • i was playing this in guitar center through an awesome mesa and i still wasnt impressed the neck was so weird felling maybee cause i play strats

  • so sweet man....

I love the backing track too...

can you tell me where the backing track is?

  • 1:10 reminds me of hotel california...

anywho amazing song, nice tone . sweet guitar

  • that's an eb EVH great guitar

  • why is this and others on here marked as SPAM?

  • ive had a ebmm evh since 1992 and i love it!

  • You should get a music man bass

    Maybe a STINGRAY 5 or a BONGO

  • i was thinking about buying one but i probably wont be buying another guitar for a long time after this so i really need a great guitar do u recommend this ?

  • Wow incredible stuff! If this is improvised then I'm shocked!

The only thing I didn't like is the rhythm of some of the soloing, but it sounded amazing anyway

  • @TheOllieB Yes, this is improvised.

  • Fantastic guitar playing as always mate !!

    Best Wishes in 2010

  • karipunat nyu tanan!!! try cebu mactan guitars not even slash can afford it!!!!!

  • lovee the tone!!

    btw phenominal playing!

  • What great tone and phrasing!

Excellent use of the tremolo also!

    5 stars!

  • r the music man sterling axis good?

  • From what I've heard there pretty decent. Way better than the OLP ones, but not on the same level as a real EB Musicman. ;-)

  • bravo!

  • i love the tone in this video, thats insane man nice.

  • This is not an Axis. You can tell because at no point in the video do you see the headstock fully.

This is the EVH Signature Ernie Ball. It was in prod. from 1991-1996 I believe. Maybe 1990.

  • so your saying that EB is lying? also i thought the EVH had a volume and tone knob

  • is this the Music Man AX40 that goes for like $550.if so it looks and sounds great

  • it's not. ;-) It's a early EVH signature. Later they were called Musicman Axis...

  • So what " really "are the differences, between the evh model & and reg Axis....... (I know that been asked a million times) ... sorry.. I might be investing in a 92 evh ..

  • Well, the earlier ones (EVH) have the toggle switch beneath the pickups. The new ones (Axis) have it near the Volume knob. After playing an EVH for a few days you start to realize they re-placed the switch for a reason.

Sit and play, and the switch tends to switch when it touches your leg.

Plus, im constantly hitting my hand on the switch!

Besides that, I think the EVH's might be built a little better, since theres not as many of them.

Whatever you choose, they're still both insane guitars!

  • i really need some advice please just tell me, i really dont know which guitr to buy: the musicman ernieball axis or the ESP m-1000??

just let me know which one is better.

  • you're on the ernie ball channel what brand do you think people will recommend you here?

  • well i know. but is the axis very good.?

i know it has alot of good stuff but is it worth buying it..?

    im just asking.

  • The Axis is crazy good. I recommend it 100%.

An axis is basically exactly what I'm playing on this video, and I love it to death.

In short: Don't get the ESP. Go with the Axis!

    Alex

  • where are the axis guitars made and were they alway made in the same place ? whay yr was the first axis?

  • Comment removed

  • I saw this guitar or a very similar looking one at guitar center during the labor day sale for like 800 and it sounded like heaven. I'm sure it was a lower end model, but the tone blew me away. I played it on a mesa boogie and OMG incredible

  • EVH Axis... lucky

  • @EJG5150 EVH? how do you know it is an evh? I love this guitar but I don´t want one called with another name. I want a standard Axis

  • ur endorsed by musicman??

    sweet

  • No. I just did this video for them since I do play a MusicMan sometimes.

  • nice playing man

  • Now thats the way to play that musicman You really compliment that guitar excellent feel and phrasing!! thanks for posting!

  • Great job Alex I'm a big fan of you guitar playing ,,

love the EVH style AXIS Guitar

  • Super Sweet
