  • i would love to see the sprints on that track :)

  • How fast are the late models going? I race the slowest division at my track and we go 85

  • 666hellrazar if you want to see real racing come to newjersey delaware new york pennsylvania come watch the bigblock modfied boys theyll make you wish you had em all around the country

  • I coulda gone around that track faster with my truck

  • I live not that far from the lavonia speedway, i can hear the races from my porch :)

  • that fence scares me

  • @HankTheTank7878 That's what made it spine-tingling good fun. When the fast cars were out on the track, I always felt like they were going to fly right through that crappy fence and kill me.

  • wtf this is not racing come up to iowa and see some midwestern boys tear up real dirt not shit clay

  • I love dirt track racing! Always used to work on it with grandpa and we raced a Bomber and Hobbystock for while. Dirt track racing all the way!

  • can't believe how close people are to the wall. crazy! The spectators I mean

  • @racinboy30 Little close for my liking sometimes haha. Its crazy watching them flip right on the fence :o

  • can't believe how close people are to the wall. crazy!

  • Ive been there before. My x raced there...

  • fd

  • i agree that fence couldnt stop a soccer ball someone is going to get hurt fix the fence.

  • three wheelin!

  • Im a Talladega Short Track boy through and through and Ive been to some good

tracks in up state new york too, and this fence here concerns me...it looks like somthin my granmaw would grow grapes on.....look up Can Am speedway flip....youll find it. and youll se yours truly

  • but illinois doesnt have red georgia clay hornet!

  • that track should have been packed in more. u run a full heat race or feature alot of cars will get tore up i used to be track prep at a track here up in illinois and our track was always 100% well packed in and was very fast and very smooth

  • "the best short track in the south" untill needmore speedway, in ellaville, ga, opens up in a few weeks..its the eldora of the south!!!!

  • track looks a little greasy at the beginning lol

  • i remember when our trucks were going around at our track packing it down like yours were and they both spun out on the front stretch

  • if you guys like this than look up dublin motor speedway, its in NC

  • I have street stock and im going take my car down to the this track show them what a Arkansas hillbilly can do

  • dixie speedway & new senoia raceway are the best dirt tracks to me

  • maybe so ... but back then, in 2007, Lavonia was king.

  • @sullivanradley well dixie and senioa are my closest tracks i can go to

  • @sullivanradley the one in talladega alabama and down in gulfport ms are good tracks too

  • they dont seeming to go very fast

  • I'm sorry about that; evidently my camera operating wasn't as good as I'd hoped -- 'cause the first couple of times I was there, they were moving so fast that they scared the buh-hey-zeus out of me. Did you watch it past the 5-minute mark? Did you happen to catch Part 2?

  • @sullivanradley yea on the the 5 min mark but no on the part two im watching that right now

  • @kyle24411 its because its a short track you cant hit high speeds really without hittin the wall...if you want speed it is better at a long track like Winder...we have run at lavonia and you can hit good speeds it is just kinda a hard without hittin the wall or someone else

  • @kyle24411 maybe cuz they watered the track with 900 gallons of water

  • @kyle24411 it's in slo-mo duh.

  • @kyle24411 it looks like they were still running the track in...

  • AWESOME!!!!!!

  • I love this dirt track, been going there for years. My son loves to see them get that old water truck out, then watch them sling some mud around, Cant wait till March!!!

  • Do we really need to see like the water trucks, packing the track, hot laps and BS like that? Only in GA

  • who is driving the car at the end.. the last car they showed?

  • I want to see the 10 wheeler dump truck Seeing

    ^_^

  • That looks like it would be a great track to see DIRT Big blocks on, still racing on dirt is great fun to watch no matter the class thats running.

Nothing like a little dirt with your beer! Keep on sliding.

  • i totally agree with the guy from ohio btw awesome vid this racen is alot different from up here in nebraska the track is aot wetter but it looks like alot of fun

  • We had an exceptional drought that year, which was why they super-soaked the track for the earlier classes of cars (oftentimes taking it to an extreme) ... but the track was always "dry as bone" by the time the Featured Race occurred around midnight.

    Yep, lots of fun.

  • shout out from black hills speedway RAPID CITY SOUTH DAKOTA

  • Thats a wet ass track at the beginning lol we can't keepem like that here in Alabama. Shout out to Thunderhill speedway owned by my family in Summertown Tennessee

  • dirt racen is dirt racen no matter where its at.. all great racen.. a shout out from Oakshade Raceway here in NW Ohio... " If you have both front teeth... then your at the wrong track... move em on out"

  • It's great to hear from y'all up there in Ohio. It's been about a decade since I was last up that way. Although I do, sometimes, catch Eldora races on Speed Channel.

The video I shot was during one of our hottest, driest Augusts, with the temperature stuck at 100+ that whole week. My uncle, a big fan of dirt-track racing, didn't go to that particular race 'cause he'd suffered something approximating heat exhaustion the day before ... but it was rather nice that evening, under 90 degrees.

  • nice vid

  • Thank you very much; I was a bit rusty with the video camera, but certainly did my best.

  • If you haven't already, please check out PART 2. To help you spot it: it's 4 mins. 53 secs. long, and you can find it in under Related Videos. Feedback on the second vid would be much appreciated.

  • Dirt track racing OWNS!!!

  • didn't see #17 parker herring out there?? and no clips of Hermon??lol

  • thats the worst looking track ive ever seen u know theres a thing called packing the track in where you get all the cars out and pack the track looks like a small mud pit to me not a track

  • these late models have noothing on the ones here in kentucky and ohio

  • casey roberts is a good driver he lives 5 minutes from me

  • I have to say, the four cylinders aren't as much fun to watch, but they look like easily as much fun to drive...

  • why would you film them running the track in it means nothing, sorry...

  • If you watch part two, you get my apology ... which says: In case your wondering why the race doesn't make much sense: my camcorder's battery kept dying on me, until it was no more.

  • Haha. Nice vid man. Call me a redneck but go to at least 2 races a month and been doing it for 5 years, and its still as great as the first time.

  • Thanks for the compliment. Well, if you're a redneck, so am I ... 'cause I have a great time when I go too. I hope you've watched Part Two; I think it's a little better than the first; it can be found in Related Videos.

  • Man - that Lamont is one hellava driver!

  • im bored on cam

im on cam and bored Qq

  • is this from a southern all stars race i saw casey roberts and randle chupp

  • If memory serves, I believe the answer is "yes."

  • The track has way too much water, however, there is an advantage to this. The track will dry out, and usually the cars are fastest in hotlaps, well voila, they are now fastest in the feature. However, it makes for a pretty sucky night untill feature time

  • I'm assuming that you watched PART 2; yeah, you're right on all counts: too wet starting out, but by feature-time the track was dry as a bone ... and I was eating a ton of dirt and dust where I was (at the end of TURN 2).

  • they over watered the track way to much

  • hell yessss

  • slow track. too wet.

  • not really it gets really quick late in the evening after it slicks up and dries out

  • muddy muddy .... have you heard of timbo mangum

  • Sorry, no. I'm not so deep into dirt-track racing that I know the drivers. Assuming I read this right, who is he?

  • he's from south carolina he come's down there in fastrak and he's a cheater he's win's ALOT

  • The Enduro class cars have tread on their tires and race in the mud; by the time the big boys come out -- the super late models with slick tires -- the track is dry as a bone ... and there ain't nothin' but dust flying.

  • honestly in my twenty years of driving the only dirt latemodels ive been around from sportmen all the way to the world of outlaws i have never seen them run slicks. all have tread on their tires just different compounds of rubber for each track condition

  • I apologize for my ignorance -- in fact, they use "angle block" and "large crossblock" (kinduva "checkerboard" pattern) -- which, with a little dirt on them, look like "slicks." Thanks for calling me on it.

  • Wow, what a muddy track, why did they put more water on it?

  • Please click on "watch in high quality," assuming that is an option you have below "views."
