Something about Ugly Casanova makes me feel schizophrenic. Certainly out of place. Like riding a swamp fanboat through downtown Tokyo. It's awesome to behold but it is weird as fuck at the same time.
I think it's awesome that Isaac Brock wanted to be less over-produced with Ugly Casanova...but they sound so similar to Modest Mouse anyways. I fucken love them both.
until i heard of modest mouse and ugly casanova the only band i liked at all with the beatles. i think its fairly easy to say that modest mouse is the second best band of all time. when you listen to ugly casanova and modest mouse the songs just have that it factor that i think bands that led zeppelin didnt even have. with brock like the beatles music is a pure art. thank god for mm and isaac the most under appreciated artist is history. counting all arts not just music.
@XxInputxX it's hard to believe, at least with the amount of absolutely fabulous music out there, that this album, holds up as one of the oddities in which his sound was willing to reverberate with his sense - a true masterpiece in my mind, I'm sure many others but then again maybe he doesn't listen to it, or maybe he's trying to recreate this with even more goodness.
