you are cute! keep on lookin' pretty and going on with your videos. who cares what people think as long as you are sending whatever message you are trying to get through to people.
Don't let negative comments affect how you do your vids. A bad attitude is really off-putting regardless of why you have one. Great video, reconsider re-making it with a positive attitude for your loyal viewers :)
Did you use a drill to rough up your nails?? Every video I have looked at so far says you need to drill to fill them yourself but they are really expensive and they look really difficult to use.
This was so helpful, thank you so much!!! I've been getting my nails done at salons for years and am finally ready to start doing them myself and saving the time and money. Yours is the best video I have seen. Instead of being nervous, I'm psyched to do this!!!
I wussed out and got them done at the salon. My friend had a gift card. BUT, I now have everything I need to do my own fills and I am going to. Can't believe I've been spending the time and money on salon nails since 1987. Time to DIY, and I will watch your video again for inspiration - - fear is what's stopped me before, and your vid gives me confidence. Thanks again and I'll keep ya posted after I do my first fills!!! Amy xoxo
Thank you for the vid! I just got into acrylics and my place fills for almost as much as it is just to get new ones. Definitely gonna try to fill it myself :)
Thanks so much for the video! It's nice to know I can start doing my own acrylic nails instead of having to get them done at a salon! Question though: One of my nails cracked down the center, and half of it came off. Do you know of any way I can put the half part of the nail back on without going back to the salon? I don't have any time tomorrow, and I need them to look good for tomorrow for something I'm doing. Know what I can do?
@broadwayluvr33 Hm, I know I'm going get some nail experts yelling at me for this but if it's too hard to fill in the half with acrylic and make it look decent (though you could try and let it dry, file, and apply more coats until it looks even), I'd try glueing on the half with nail glue and putting a thin thin coat of acrylic over it to smooth. What did you end up doing?
@minjupolk Hi minjupolk, I got it from Ulta, but you can also get it in CVS and other drugstores where I'm from (IL). Kiss also makes several French kits with tips included.
@silvym I use a brush cleaner bottle I got in an acrylic kit I bought at CVS but I don't remember the name. But you can order low price acrylic cleaners from nail supply websites.
Thank you for the video. I just bought a kit to start doing my own fill ins. You explained things well. Do you know - should I remove my tips at any point in time, or can I just keep filling them in? Ive never kept up with them because I couldnt afford to go back to have them done by a pro. So I dont know what to do after a few months or whatever.
@TheMrWildfire The most convenient thing would be to keep filling them in (you can find lots of videos here on Youtube about that) since removing the whole acrylic and tip can be time-consuming and very damaging.
@TheMrWildfire Hey you need to remove the false nail every 3months max, in order for your nail to breath. Thats why most people have weak nails cause they just keep filling the nail and their real nail just gets weaker.
You need to remove the false nail in order for your real nail to breath, same with nail polish. Max every three months. Thats why your real nail will become so weak cause you just keep filling the acrylic.
@smeganl Nails don't "breathe" like regular skin. The nails become weak because the bond between the acrylic and real nail is stronger than the real nail and nail bed, so tugging and pulling weakens it overall.
thanks, ive just bought some actilic liquid and powders so i can do myself. its much cheaper if i give it a bash myself.
i wanna know how to do extentions though without having to put the french nails on the end:)you mentioned it in one of your other videos so i went looking round youtube for someone who had done it but i couldn't find anyone. if you dont know what im talking about - putting something under the nail and painting onto it. help? anythings appreciated
You mean acrylic sculpting? That's difficult to do on your own since it requires a very steady hand, and if you're doing the other hand with your non-dominant hand, it would be a huge mess.
Search "acrylic sculpture" and you will find videos about painting the acrylic onto a nail form. But if you want a natural look, you can do a natural tip instead of a French (white) nail tip; it'd be simply than using nail forms.
