I got this kit as a motorize model, just add a regular futaba servo and change the motor , I use a 380 high-speed motor use d for heli, prop is from the kit, esc TEU101 Tamiya ,Futaba rx & tx hope it helps
The drive shaft is kit base Mini Hobby has it which Tamiya dont, I just replace the plastic coupling to metal, motor is 380 hi speed usually is use for small helicopters, and used the prop from the kit.
I notice the life jackets on the sea crew are in orange instead of gray. Is that referenced? I'm also building the same boat right now so Please let me know. Thank you!
I choose orange for visibility and thinking that the 1st boat was completed 1975 so its possible that they have used orange too, but for authenticity its better to use gray.
It can really go very slow, can allow docking maneuver. im using a Tamiya ESC from my RC cars

Nicely fast like everyone says...but how well does it go slow? Got to have those slow maneuvering speeds for docking and coastal patrols.
