The ending is so epic, it's not even a joke. That was his whole opening statement. He got up for the opening statement at Trial, looked at the jury and said, "Denny Crane" and sat down. How epic is that? Brilliant.
i love how alan just brought denny there to make a mockery of the entire thing and to prove that it was just a joke i love this show and miss it so much
@diveex I don't remember the exact episodes, since I no longer have them on my computer. But it all happened in the 8th and final season. Alan Shore pretty much took over as the main character; the entire 8th season was pretty much a prequel to BL, and though the show was so different through this season, it was possibly the best one. Alan really lightened up the mood of the series, and as a character, was something completely new, making the show much more interesting than ever before.
@diveex This is during the final episodes of season the 8th and final season of The Practice. It's called "The Case Against Alan Shore". This was probably the best season of the Practice and Boston Legal combined.
@diveex actually, he didn't get any money, he only wanted to be part of their team he was so hurt that they fire him, he respected them so much because they were so moral and the practice ruled by integrity, so he did the lawsuit only for pride and to proved them he was a better lawyer with his inmoral methods. In the end he refuse to take it, saying he was just angry at them because they didn't accepted the fact that he was a better laywer and more successful than they could dream on.
@mydog8u2 Can't remember how much exactly, but I'm pretty sure that he actually got a decent bit more than that. Ha. Alan Shore pretty much always comes up with some epic closing statement and kills the opponent's case.
@Hiromigo Oh awesome! Thanks Hiromigo! Now I REALLY wanna watch this season of Practice. Dammit where can I get the dvd?!?!? Lol Anyway, thanks again ;)
@Hiromigo alan ended up getting 2.3-2.5 mill i think , alan when would join denny in BL. after the trail the firm broke up;in the final episode eugene was appointed to judge, ellenore took time off to spend with her daugher, and jimmy and jamie opened up their own neighborhood firm, and it showed bobby running his own small firm. the final scene shows bobby sitting in the old firms office alone reflecting on the memories the had with the firm showing that he had not forgotten their legacy
@Hiromigo actually think it was about 2 point something. but as he said the money didn't matter he tried to 'return' it to the firm, saying they didn't need to pay.
@mydog8u2 he won a lot of money i forget the exact amount but alan was just doing the case for fun he didnt really do it to win and thats why he choise denny was because he wanted to make a mockery out of everything and when he won he told the others they didnt have to pay him but eugene told him that they always pay their debt
No, he hired Denny Crane because he was legendary, Alan had shit loads of doubts about him, after he found out he'd hired a nut, who was going around saying his name in every other sentence :p
He even asken Mathew why he didn't stop him in hiring Denny Crane, but Mathew assured alan that ones in the courtroom .. he was Denny Crane the legend. Instead of the nut job ..
uhm no ... try to watch 8x17 War Of The Roses, 28:00->29:20, if you can't i'll just quote Alan..
Alan : "That's Denny Crane? THE Denny Crane?" (Implying he's heard of the legendary Denny Crane, and seing as he's the biggest lawyer in boston, it would be foolish to think Alan Shore hasn't heard of him)
Mathew : "Don't me fooled, ones he's in the court room, he's every bit the icon"
@lolwut112 that was after this ep though and i dont think alan has heard of him until this ep and he was looking for somebody to make a mockery of the case because he wanted to go out in a bang and just have fun now if he really wanted to win and stuff he would have saved his money and just did the case himself because he mainly did the case on his own and all you hear from denny in the case is him saying denny crane he doesnt do anything else and its caz alan just wanted to have fun
@lolwut112 it has been so long since i have seen the practice i am rewatching it using net flix but the dont have season 2 so its kinda hard but what i got out of things was that alan didnt care if he won or lost he just wanted to have fun thats why he broke into the office changed the name on the door and stuff i mean if he really cared about winning and the money he wouldnt have told them not to pay him back and he wouldnt have picked denny crane
@mydog8u2 actually, he didn't get any money, he only wanted to be part of their team he was so hurt that they fire him, he respected them so much because they were so moral and the practice ruled by integrity, so he did the lawsuit only for pride and to proved them he was a better lawyer with his inmoral methods.
