@SkoalBoy93 Z06 vettes come with 505 out of the box. Considering this is somewhat of a perfornance motor your not going to pick up 50 hp with an air intake and throttle body. Heads, cam, intake, full headers exhaust and a tune and you'll hit 650-7. Granted your vette is not easy to drive with a race cam.

I have a '06 Z06 with a rebuilt LS7 engine with forged racing components. Black on black wheels too, but I'm dying to get the STAGE 4 package from West Coast Corvettes to get to 600HP and that amazing racing sound of custom headers, heads, and cams. I have a textralia clutch to accommodate the upgrade when it happens. What clutch do you have?

RPM has nothing to do with the point of the cut outs. When you go to the track where a free flowing exhaust is legal, you open the "cut outs" which allows the exhaust to exit the pipes before it reaches the mufflers or cats thus increasing the flow and horsepower.

@daboz1323 actually if you have cutouts, most of the exhaust gas comes out from the closest point to the engine (a.k. the pipe for your cutouts), but not all of it, seeing as you have an open pipe going to the mufflers still. The only way to eliminate anything coming out of the muffler, you need another cutout after the pipe you installed that remains closed to cut off gas to the mufflers. that is why when you look in the video when you rev it with the cutout open, smoke comes out the back.
