Sounds like it's spooling at too high an RPM. The turbo is too big. If it's out of a big truck like a Cat C15 I don't know what the guy was thinking. They have 15L of displacement to spool it.. vs 3L.. You would think HKS or Garret would make turbos like that for a Supra if it was a smart build. It's not going to matter that you have 300 extra horsepower when you only have 1500 RPM to use it before the redline.

@mexces What are you talking about? Every turbo'd car DEFINITELY should have a blow-off valve or bypass valve. THOSE are what releases the excess pressure when the car shifts or when the car is idling and under vacuum. A wastegate opens when the turbo reaches a desired pressure (boost) and thus makes it so the cars boost won't spike and releases the air out.

@lacrossplayr5 Correct. Wastegate opens at a specific boost level so the exhaust gas escapes without boost rising. A blow off valve lets excess air from the inlet out after the throttle body has closed. Doing this prevents backward airflow toward the turbo and prevents damage and helps keep the turbo spinning as air is not trying to slow it down now. BOV's arent needed but are definately a good idea. Loud ones are purely for show though.
