  • Nice but the music didn't fit it at all.

  • you dont understand how helpfull this video is to me!

  • @nmele0226 I certainly don't know how, but I would like to hear about it. Thank you.

  • Where the dance scenes of "Wives & Daughters"?

  • Awesome montage - you chose the best clips! I especially liked your transition of Macfadyen from P&P to Way We Live Now - he was so fun to watch in that one! Fascinating to see the various styles of dance.

  • hahahaahahahaha 5:12

  • i've always thought about.. why wasn't there a dance scene between john and margaret in 'north & south'?

  • Wouldn't that be lovely. I wanted to see him on a horse, too. That will be a fan fic I'm writing. LOL

  • omg, you're right. that would be more than fantastic!

  • @areyourunningaway. i soo agree... north & south belongs in there too!!!

    ...

i think that there were better scenes of phantom of the opera you could have used. other than than... thanks!!! =D so cool!

  • @areyourunningaway i whole heartedly agree. north and south belongs in there too...

  • @areyourunningaway Another one I'd like to see, something like this one, is the waltz from "Gone With The Wind"! If you have seen the movie, it's the one where Scarlett and Rhett dance at the Confederate ball. She technically was not supposed to be dancing, she was in mourning. However, somehow it was justified by her sister-in-law, Melanie Wilkes. Everyone was shocked at first, but Melanie says she was raising money for the 'cause'!

  • oh, make that 6:00. all four of them.

  • thank you for this mesmerizing video

  • Wow, those looks at 6:12 from Mansfield Park...it was like watching wolves watch their prey.

  • I love the 2005 P&P one. At some points they look as if they're wearing rollerblades.

  • love it. especially the dances at both the pride and prejudice movies.

  • Thanks, I love them too, especially the 1995 version - where Darcy looks so sure of himself, where the 2005 version looks like Darchy' is trying to remember the steps.

  • The director of Pride & Prejudice (the one with Kiera Knightley) had a moment of sheer inspiration when he filmed the scene of Elizabeth and Darcy dancing alone. It really gets across what's going on beneath the surface.

    Another great video!

  • It's called Minuet dancing a skill and not the easiest if you haven't practiced ie: the scene with Mr.Collins in Pand P. Some still do there are groups around who still do it I wish they tried it on Dancing with the Stars it would bring it back

  • Nice video gsbohn!!

I love the scene from 'the way we live now' where he cuts into the dance in front of the other dude ha ha!

  • Genie, THANK YOU! These vidoes are superb! I've shared them with several friends. What is the music for "Great Men . . ." and "Dances . . ." I would love to buy the cds.

  • I can't remember both off hand, but look in the "more info" link under my name and avatar on the right side of the screen. I always put whatever I used in the vid there. It will have the music information.

  • How beautifully romantic! I wish everyone still danced this way :)

  • Wouldn't that be lovely.

    Thanks for the comment

  • @jagirl314 I agree!!! :-)

  • oh wow, nvm...

  • Thank you.

  • wats the movie in the beginning?

  • It says it under the picture. It's called "The Way We Live Now" from 2001

  • An again a very good video og gsbohn an the music is brilliant!!!

  • Sorry I missed your comment on the Dance of Period drama. Thank you.

  • cool theres a northanger abbey!

  • LOL this is great! nicely done.

  • Thanks.

  • Love the music choice for this vid, too. Thanks for another fantastic video. :)

  • Thank you so much. It's rather unique but it seem to go well with all the movements. I did not have to slow down any clips to make it synch.

  • This is very good. I rated 5 stars ;D

  • Thank you very much. I am glad you liked it.

  • Lovely music and it went with the clips... I really enjoyed this video... Well done!

  • I appreciate you letting me know that. I work hard on using just the right music for my vids.

    Thanks for watching it.

  • The music went so well with the clip. Bravo! AGAIN!

  • Thank you. I have a lot of people asking about the music. I usually start with a piece of music and work a video around it. Probably backwards, but I think the music is very important. Thank you for your comment.

  • i like very much but the phantom of the opera is not pierod dancing its all ballet but i still liked it

  • Loved it!!! Thank you sooooo much :D

  • Very nice of you to let me know you appreciate the video. Thank you.

  • Lovely piece of music and it went so well with dance scenes. You put them together nicely. I haven't watched a couple of films in here--your video made me want to check them out! Thank you!

  • Appreciate the comment, especially from another vider. Thank you. I loved your vid, too.

  • Thanks so much for your thoughts. I keep playing this music all the time, myself. I have it playing several times on a homemade CD for the car. LOL!

  • Beautiful, charming, and quite ingenious.

  • WOW, ingenious. I haven't had that compliment before. Thank you for appreciating it. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

  • Did indeed. In fact, I was so taken with your choice of music -- totally new to me -- that I've just downloaded the tune from Amazon. Cannot get the thing out of my head!

  • Nice music. Fits very well with dancing scenes.

  • Thank you.

  • I agree with you on liking the dance from "The Way We Live Now" best. Cillian is such a sweetheart in that one, and his lady is perfect for him. Great stuff, Genie!

  • Thanks so much. Glad you liked it.

  • I love the pretty dresses

  • This was terrific! I feel strange admitting it but I never noticed how well these guys dance, lol. I mean, they just glide, don't they? I guess I normally get lost in all the wonderful dialogue. Anyway, I really loved this! The music went great with the scenes and enhanced the beauty of the dances!

  • Well, thank you. I knew I enjoyed the music but didn't know how well it would go over with others, being a little more contempory for the time.

  • Oh, thank you dear Lady. Too obsessed with Period Drama to do much else. I am helpless. Glad you liked the dance. I used just about the entire 10 minutes that YouTube allows.

  • Oh how lovely! Weaving the dances scenes of the different versions was charming. And how refreshing to have a longer video, they always seem to end just as you are really enjoying them. Kudos on keeping me riveted right until the very end. Please keep the period drama videos coming.

    To misquote Mr. Knightley,

"That was well done, gsbohn, well done indeed!"
