Well MGS creators seem to like the health bar system. If there is no health bar system you have to have regeneration, and regeneration would ruin MSG4 since you dont fight much anyway. In games like this theres always people shooting at you at you need alot of health to stay alive, and well, its just not like that in MGS4. (unless your one of those unpatiant people that like to run and gun)

Those are Conduits, people who were in or near the explosion. I'm not so sure about them, I think they just have the "potential" to use powers, and that stuff that they have on their backs helps them. But I could be wrong...
