Punishment is a tricky. Adjusting raid schedules is the first step of action, I feel to make a guild work out of a slump. 2nd course is to review raider participation- & divide and conquer. Most raiding guilds have a raider core, and reg-member. It would be at that point that 'raiders' who fail to show up. My personal opinion and experience with punishment is to only in-act strict punishment on players when they sign up, and repeatability do not show up.

For raid attendence I would reward those that show up with more points and then start a decaying points system that will take away a % of points each week. If you have inactive players their points will start to fall and then more active players will be able to get more items then the inactive people. This also keeps people from hording points for that one specail item. When you horde points, you hurt yourself and the raid because in the long run you will have less gear for progression

i feel that recuting new people is not right. as the people who work there butts of to get there guild were it is may have yo give up there spots went they come back from there brake. or the new people woul not get to raid anymore went the guildes on brake come back. eather way some one is loseing out

@charlietob there are several things, first you don't know if those people are coming back, yeah they may take a break but you won't know how long it'll be, and if there is (for example) only two people that are taking, its would be unfair for the 8 other raiders. And depending on the guild size, if you recruit more people you could possibly set up another raid. Its not to say recruiting isn't the end all be all to all problems (cause it isn't) its just an option a guild leader has to thinkabout

The way we deal with 'loot night' is to balance out how many badges we get on a 'progression night'. We clear a lot of bosses our first night but we'll leave two of them up for the progression night to have. We also do VoA and the weekly first thing on the progression night. This helps people stay motivated to come no matter what night it is.
