Hey. I learned to squat now, but when i did it against the wall, pretty close, i didnt get any knee pain, so thats good, but i felt a discomfort in my lower back, will it go away when i get used to squat or am i doing something wrong?

turning the toes out at a 45 degree angle and then letting the knees track in the same trajectory as the toes (but not floating forward over the toes) would allow for a more natural squat. It will also eliminate the need to turn the head to the side and the off-balance feeling when against the wall as in this video.

Thanks! They do squats a lot in the group exercises at my gym, and the instructor used to treat me like an idiot for not knowing how to properly squat. I did exactly what Stephen says - I started from my knees, and it hurt (especially squat jumps)! I have since figured it out, but this would have been great back when I was trying to figure it out!
i was just wondering though, do you have any ways to slim down your calves? every time i exercise, my calves bulk up and are literally the same size as my thighs X_X what can i do? D:
Most important part of the squat, deeper than parallel transfers the weight to your hips instead of your knees, learn to squat deep and avoid knee pain.
