1) I believe this debate is really pointless, you are comparing two completely different universe where different laws apply.

2) However, if Star Wars and Star Trek ever met, what we saw in the movies would be antiquated compared to what Star Wars would actually have now, considering it's been 8,000 years since the movie period according to Lucas.

The Star Wars galaxi doesn't progress, they're locked forever in a cycle of violence like in "Day of the Dove" by the midichlorian parasites, a collectively intelligent infestation like those seen in "Operation: Annhilate!" and which killed Kirk's brother, Sam Kirk and almost killed his nephew Peter Kik.

The midichlorians would naturally want to invade our galaxy, and it would be up to Kirk and Picard to STOP them, and save the SW galaxy like in both those episodes.

First, a Clarification: Starwars lasers aren't classic lasers - they're an energy weapon powered by a fictional gas. Its real effect on Real ships cannot be determined since damage wasn't listed in its direct jules.

Starwars vs Startrek is Soft science vs Hard science. Hence, the tech in starwars isn't explainable but you can explain anything with phased emitters in Startrek.

@Zerocyde Yeah... You do realise it isn't the weapon configuration that matters, its the power output. Star Wars may have lasers, but they are in the GIGAWATT range, not Kilowatt. That's a power output factor of x10^6. A kilowatt laser may not scratch the hull, but a gigawatt laser will rip through pretty much anything. Trust me.
