If you compare the eye with makeup and the other one without, you can definitely see the difference between the two eyes. The one with the shadows makes your eyes stand out and pop...its gorgeous :)

I don't know what the trend is called, but what it is, is that you basically wear 1 color all over your face, just different shades, so let's say u choose magenta, so u wear a shade magenta for the eyes, another shade for the cheeks, and another for the lips.
