wow...I cannot believe Brothers are being forced to reveal their membership...Everybody that knows me, knows that I am a proud Mason..but to be forced for the purpose of registration is a huge civil rights violation...whats about the Knights of Columbus, Odd Fellows, Elks ??? are they being required to reveal their membership?

people that guide me as i have faith in the Supreme Architect of the Universe. From that faith i make educated decisions on what i believe. As far as "opening our doors" to the outside world that would kinda defeat the purpose of being in a fraternity. Certainly no ill will or disrespect intended to you either

I agree 100% that the government should not attempt to pressure (or force) people into disclosing which organizations they are part of as long as the organization is a legal one such as the Freemasons. Couple of questions maybe you could help me with. Does the fact that im a freemason make me any more liable to commit a crime? What does my masonic ties have to do. Freemasons got killed in the halocaust simply for being freemasons. Why should we open ourselves to that kind of persecution? We dont disclose anything in our ceromonies and rituals for the same reason that people dont disclose what goes on behind closed doors between a man and a wife. I have never been in a fraternity as I did not go to college and really have very little knowledge of the meaning of the word. Anyway I think it is a shame what that gov. is trying to do to your organization. Any help I thank you

@Freemason822 Thats rediculous I myself am will be seeking membership in the next couple of years.So masons have to reveal themselves now.I dare say that it sounds like another bout of persacution is becoming likley if thats the case.Just a feeling through observable repitition.Blessing freind!

ive read the first 3 degrees of the Scottish Rite and I agree with about all of the values, logic, reason, rights, but sometimes it seems like a Knowledge monopoly, and i dont agree with that, all the secrecy.

i think if the masses were more enlightened we would be better off. maybe replace Mtv with MasonTV, to help the masses.

But, does anyone know the real secrets at the very top, are people following blindly like Christianity?

@FreemasonMovies exactly, i wish you could share some of the reasons for the need of secrecy, particularly coming from the orignal persecution, which lead to the need for a way to communicate in "secret".. i aqm sick of telling people, Freemasonry is not a secret society, it is a society with some secrets... big difference.. also, people ignore all of the good works performed in our society by the fraternity.. seems like take a few things that happen in "dim light", and of course its the devil?!

Having to reveal your masonic ties is unconstitutional and very narrow-minded. Should they ever enact this practice in the states then i see our goverment taking a turn for the worse. I am a PROUD member of the craft and i tell anyone within earshot. That being said i dont think that i should have to tell the goverment ANYTHING espically when they have alterior motives behind their inquisition.
