  • @TickleMeElmo55 It's not France, the country or people, that people are "crapping" on. One of the French swimmers, before the race (I think it was the anchorman), was quoted in media reports saying the French swimmers were going to "smash" the American swimmers. The risk of predicting victory is that you are ridiculed and crapped on if you lose. Had the French swimmer not made the previous comments, no one would be crapping on them. In essence they asked to be crapped on. Not crapping on

  • The last 15 yards of Lezaks race was the fastest any humanbeing has ever gone in the history of the world

  • You don't have to be a swimmer to know that that lighning bolt at the end is one of the most amazing athletic performances in Olympic history.

  • Didn't like the end... She gave credit to phelps when it was Jason that did the dirty work

  • It was a nice video until you talked at the end.

  • France...finding a way to lose. USA finding a way to win. Same old song.

  • As I was watching this race live I was on my knees, my face about 2 feet from the t.v. screen, I was soooo into this race

  • I don't think I've ever been prouder of my country. I get chills every time I watch this.

  • I remember watching this live while living in Houston a few years ago. As this happened, I was literally on my feet during the final stretch yelling at the television. The Olympics brings out my national pride unlike any other sporting event, including the World Cup (and I love soccer). Plus, having been to France on multiple occasions and having been treated like dirt each and every time by the locals, this made me even happier. It is always great to beat the French :)

  • Beast mode....ACTIVATE!

  • Wrecked. And one of the greatest reasons we won this is because Lezak dragged off the french guy the last 75 meters, smart move.

  • Do you know what people, trash talk is trash talk. It doesn't matter who said it. Lezak and co. didn't win because they were Americans, and the French didn't lose because they were French, but because of just sheer competition and determination. I don't understand everyone crapping on France. If America talk trash and lost you people wouldn't be pumping the American patriotism. Heart is heart no matter what country it comes from. Go France. Go USA.

  • @TickleMeElmo55 people were crapping on france because they were being arrogant asses beforehand, going on and on about how they were going to "crush" the USA. the only reason that I personally crap on them is because they showed such arrogance AND couldnt even back it up. otherwise, id simply be stunned at the amazing comeback alone

  • @battledog13

Actually, battledog they almost did back it up. If USA was in Frances position then it would the USA having a beet red face.

  • @TickleMeElmo55 im not saying they didnt. and to be fair, "almost" doesnt matter. but i completely agree. if we had been saying we were going to smash france, and they ended up beating us, we would deserve to be ridiculed.

Go France. Go USA. Go every country that competes in the Olympics.

  • I went fucking nuts when he beat Bernard! I WAS LUCK FUCKING RIGHT FUCK YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 46.0 split - jason lezak

  • 24 people are from france

  • That split converts to a 39 hundred free in short course, what a beast

  • Lezak was just saving it for the end :)

  • AMERICAN HEART

  • USA to france: umadbro?

  • 240,000+ views. At least a thousand of these views are probably mine. The most memorable swimming relay ever.

  • HERE COMES LEZAK

  • mann that was soo sick, especially because the commentators gave up on the americans, theyre like we should be safe with second.. wow

  • Cullen Jones on the bottom of the screen at 1:07

    HAHAHAHHAHAHA

  • Phelps owes Lezak big on this one

  • that french dudes gna get shot

  • FUCK THE FRENCH

  • phelps had a massive Orgasm...lol

  • This just proves over and over that trash talking the USA just isn't smart. =D

  • One of the greatest moments in Olympic history EVER

  • Not just a 46:06 split -- but a 46:06 anchor leg split for the gold medal to chase down a beast in Bernard, who was part of a French team that had been talking trash before the race about beating the USA. This win preserved Phelps's case of 8 gold medals, which he achieved, and claimed France as yet another victim of American greatness. America versus the haters (aka most of the world). Lovin' it.

  • USA! USA! USA! Watching the cocky French have this shoved down their throat was beautiful.

  • @efisher8 well said. stupid cocky French lost. lol

    GO USA. :D

  • that cullen jones, he cant swim for beans and fried chicken...who taught him how to swim?

  • i wasnt alive when we beat the soviets in 1980. so for me, this is the greatest moment in american history. when i go to france this summer is someone trash talks america im just gonna say: Beijing, 08. 'nuff said

  • @lemonhead110296 lol this is your greatest moment in american history? i agree. after all it was the 4x100 relay that sparked the revolutionary war. your comment comes in the same month we get bin laden, but i agree, that was only considered a big story because the 24 hour news networks were hungry for something to talk about on a slow day. i mean it was kind of a big deal but it wasn't an olympic swimming race or anything.

  • @lemonhead110296 SICK BEAK BRO!! USA IS BETTER AT SWIMMING THAN YOU!! -_-

    Its swimming dude...

  • i remember seeing this race from my prison cell in Salinas Valley, and I'll never, ever forget it! For a moment there I forgot I was in Prison...It was beautiful beyond words!

  • best race ever

  • what jerkoff announcers? you never count someone out of a race. you're left looking like a complete asshole.

  • 46.06 split? good fucking lord talk about a clutch play

  • haha whos talking now french bitches

  • @felipeguy12345 You should start by writing in proper English. Other than that, FUCKING EPIC!

  • @felipeguy12345 enculé ;)

  • this race gives me the shivers

  • Wow. I'm an Aussie but I must say that Lezak's leg might be the greatest swim in history. 46.06 seconds is phenomenal. To think that Cesar Cielo only did 46.91. I understand that you get better times in relays but seriously, why hasn't Lezak broken more world records in his career?

  • i like how the commentator at start didnt think lezak could do it ..(darn commentator) BUT HE FREAKING DID IT!

  • amazing

  • dream on bernard! GO USA!!!

  • Comment removed

  • imagine if gus johnson called this

  • @kb24forlife1 straight and he was pounding his chest for like the last 10m

  • hahahahahahahaha Fuck France HAHAHA

  • I feel like this type of stuff is why every other country hates the USA. Stop hating everyone.

  • The most spectacular Olympic performances:

    3. Franz Klammer, skiing, downhill

    2. Kerri Strug, gymnasyics, vault

    1. Jason Lezak, swimming, men's 4x100 freestyle relay

  • nadia comaneci perfect 10's

  • I will always have a little something against Alain because of this... :(

  • incredible. when you look at the times everyone came in on.

5 teams beat the world record..

  • @MotleyFever wow did not know that

  • SID CROSBYS GOAL WAS BETTER

  • @weaksauce11 NOPE. Hockey is the greatest sport, but this is one of the greatest sporting moments ever. Crosby's goal will be a footnote.

  • @weaksauce11 How was Crosby's goal better? First off Canada was favored to kill the USA and they barely one. And, it wasnt even that good of a goal.

  • @weaksauce11 naw it really wasnt

  • LOL Look at the guy at the bottom left at 1:08

  • :28, eat your words

  • man look at that muscle. makes my username look weak

  • Jason Lezak^^!!!he was the fastest swimmer in this race...(i know my english is bad)

  • hey my people: imposible is nothing!!! Usa for ever!!!this race was sick!!! the 19 dislikers are from France^^!!!

  • 19 people felt the voice at the end killed it.

  • DID U ALL SEE How Phelps did a 100 butterfly come back At PAn PACS 2010 in the 4 by 100 IM Relay ??????????????

  • my friends and I FREAKED OUT when we watched this live. USA baby!

  • i swim but i will never again see a moment that amazing

  • @jackanjoeful I can promise u that in Dubai 2011 worlds Champ , there will be amazing relays between US , France and Russia . I am 100% dure of it ! There is Nathan Adrian now , Still lezak , Weber Gale , And Phelps ....

  • lezak!

  • This was probaly the most amazing thing I've ever seen in the history of sports, next to Arturo Gatti's heart in round 9 of boxing against Mickey ward in their first fight.

  • can u imagine how lezak was feeling when racing, and then winning, this? :)

  • amazing, 2 years and i still love watching this unbelievable race. lezak rock on.

  • Eat that FRANCE!

  • Gah I get to meet Jason today!!!!!

  • this is why i love swimming! the most unexcepted things can always happen! bestrelayever!

  • 1:40= sit down son

  • o.o

  • Pure adrenaline and willpower right there. That's what a 50 meter swimming sprint in the Olympics comes down to. And Jason Lezak had it. That's one of the best comebacks I've ever seen. The French were half a body's length ahead when Jason Lezak made his final turn.

  • And they cannot even really thank Lezak for that awesome run...

  • Put that camera on a fucking table and film it and stop it moving about

  • This, Kerri Strug's vault and the '80 USA hockey team's win over the USSR are the three greatest Olympic moments ever. You don't have to be a swimmer to appreciate this. Amazing. Human will overcomes impossibility.

  • Youtube censorship go FUCK your self and your mother :) ;)

  • I'm a Limey and I often watch this race. The epitome of sport. Bravo!

  • fucking good!!this shit was imposible and LEZARK got it!!! the best of history!!!he breaks bernard record and make a new best world record for USA!!!fucking goodd...i can SAY REEEEEEESSSSPPPPEEEECCCCT for LEZARK!!!who is taking now???^^jaja...the most incredible thing i ever seen in my life!!!

  • @amushisetemanao who the hell is lezark?

  • oh my godd hahaha who the fuck is voice at the end?! LOL watch this shit hi and wait for the chick at the end!!!! hahaha

  • @jamsjaky I thought it was Gus Johnson, but no.

  • i don't like this race :'(

  • the final commentary at the end of the video sucked, though

  • he done something imposible!!!he showed the world, that all is possibly!!!

  • This ranks right there with the Boise St. Oaklahoma Fiesta Bowl in terms of WOW!!!!

  • Remember it like yesterday, flipping through the channels past midnight on some random weekday. Stumbled upon perhaps the greatest show of human spirit and will of all time. Yelling at the TV and crying during the last 50 meters

  • I met him on friday :D He said he didn't speed up, he stayed the same speed and the other guy died

  • I remember this..Dude I was so pumped I was jumping up and down (I'm 6 feet btw) on my sofa on my second floor apartment!

  • incredible....it s just amazing...who is taking now...^^...the fastest in history...

  • best race ever!!!!

  • this has got to be the most epic race ever. I was screaming, "GO GO GO!!!" Best Olympic moment EVER! It is funny because Bernard, who was the world record holder, makes a mistake. After his flip turn he swims on the left side of the lane allowing Lezak to sort of cruise along side and then shoot past him. Truly incredible!!!!! I am a swimmer myself and I live for those moments. :D

  • @kmanvids1 I remember watching this with my mom at 12 in the morning, screaming at the tv

  • how many ppl got outta they seat sayin "go mothafucka go" lol

  • this is so ghetto how u record it off da computer n put it on youtube

  • awesome

  • LOL @ that commentator that thinks Lezak could not do it. That announcer absolutely went crazy once Lezak touched the wall.

  • It's Rowdy Gaines and he knows his stuff, he was a anchor a couple times in the 4x100. Lezak swam the fastest relay split in history, I don't think Gaines should be faulted for what he said, it was an honest accessment. Lezak is a beast.

  • watching this live was (quite possibly) the most amazing thing ever :]

  • I know! The commentator was like, 'his coming back, his coming back!!!!!!!!!

  • @theonlyarrinyatsenko I STILL REMEMBER WATCHING THIS SHIT LIVE. FUCKING AWESOME

  • @theonlyarrinyatsenko my family and i were literally jumping up and down and screaming at the tv on the last 50m

  • @theonlyarrinyatsenko Bush was there,

  • major...major...i mean MAJOR CLUTCH MODE for him....i shit my fuckin pants when this happened

  • unbelievable race

    i've watched it countless times

also lol at the end!!, is that accent for real?

  • this was so sick

  • @HAL0W4RS hi you're very dumb and I will get a few thumbs up for this.

  • quite a few thumbs you've aquired for this so far...keep it up...

  • its a kid...

  • HAL0W4RS, you are the one who sucks. The reason the video was recorded that way was because of copyright issues. Why don't you go back to playing Halo, you loser.

  • Your voice is my hero.

  • I'm a former swimmer and a lot of people don't realize just what an amazing comeback this is. Being THAT far behind at that point in the race is like being down 34-14 in the fourth quarter. Just an incredible race.

Also, leave the kid alone at the end of the video.

  • even if u DONT like swimming..this moment has to make any ameican proud...this race was sick

  • Haha this race feels 10 times better when they won because of the expected arrogance from the French...Haha Bernard, what did you think you were doing?

  • lol dude u so killed the entire video

  • haha. different sport. hockey. my family was in DC and we watched game 7 of 2004 Stanley cup. our home team lightning won. and we screamed so loud that our neighbors came over at midnight saying: can you quit down". my parents were like fuck you. and the guy just walked away. haha

  • i love how our USA swim team celbrates. it gives me chills every fucking time

  • Haha at :47 "and the US shuld get the silver medal"

    Priceless :)

  • Ahhhh good times :), haha i remembur Me and my wife were watching this and then our 12 year old twins came in and they came in just in time to watch Lezak blow away the frenchie. i still dont think they know wat happened

  • @wetfart1387 I already apologized read the description if u even can read fag

  • Suck it France!!!

  • Here comes lezac!

Haha too bad NBC is a bitch about copyright rules...

  • the lady talking at the end of the video totally ruined the whole thing

  • 1:54=priceless :)

  • 1:41, thats the Kodak moment.

  • lezak i love u baby. yur my favorite swimms eve

  • eat it france

  • nice ;)

what is the website where you filmed it??

  • USA USA USA !!!!!!!!!!!!! that's whatsupppppp

  • 46.06.

He blew away the fastest in history.

    How unappreciated >.>

  • yeah lezak!

seriously, when i watched this event, i was totally, "shit france's got it!" then when lezak started making his move i was going crazy

  • lezak deserved much more credit than he got. he killed that a**

  • Lezak got be jumping.

The guy needs a little more appreciation.

  • and jason u rock to???? r u kidding he killed phelps

  • I still get chills when I watch this, most amazing comeback in history by far

  • 46.06

  • I met the guy at the gym. Pretty cool guy

  • Jason Lezak would be the world record holder for the 100m freestyle if that wasnt a relay !

  • If he did that split leading off he would, but not anchor. The relay start makes your time lower by a good .5 second.

  • incredible. one of the most inspirational moments in all of sports history. i watch this video once a month and get the goosebumps every time.

  • Comment removed

  • Man, hard to believe this was already a year ago. This has to be the race of the decade, especially at the stakes this race alone was at (Phelps 8 Golds), and to come back on the WR holder, in a sprint race, is just amazing. Lezak is my hero!

  • Way to go Lezak! :D

  • freakin love this video. my neighbors and their neighbors were watching it and we heard them go crazy and they heard us go crazy. then the next day my whole block is covered with USA. colors, flag evrything

  • I saw this live and i was absolutely flabergasted when the US won and it is still one of my favorite moments in olympic history.

  • same here. r whole house was screaming and we lost r voice

  • SUCK IT FRANCE!!... lol
