  • And Bill Paxton is in this. Awesome.

  • I now know what Homer was singing in that Halloween episode about Bart's evil twin.

  • I am extremely happy that you posted this. This is what the original video release is supposed to look like! It's nice to see such a crisp and clear version

  • what did I just watch..

  • some more disturbing memories from my far away youth times...

  • Does anyone remember or have a recording to post of E.T. For Breakfast by John Christensen? I remember hearing it on Dr Demento here in Chicago. The gist of the song was baout some hunter and his dog named Jaws hunting fo E.T. as if he were a quail or something.

  • ...My brains hurts.

  • the profanacion of fish heads

  • What the fuck?! O__O Anyone else scared by those children faces?? Goodbye sleep.

  • @TheCarefreeChibi I've hated those children face cards since I first saw this in the late 70s.

Question for someone who may know. Was this originally aired on Saturday Night Live when they featured movies like this and Mr. Bill? Seems that's where I remember seeing it first. MTV wasn't until a few years later.

  • @TheCarefreeChibi scares the crap outta me!!

  • Mr. Swillman, are you Bill Mumy?

  • @Musicman14231 What makes you say that?

  • Comment removed

  • @TheSwillMan I ask if you're Bill Mumy because of your videos of Artie Barnes himself and this REALLY high quality video of Fish Heads. Ether you're Bill Mumy or a close friend of him (and maybe a friend of Robert Haimer). I'm just a little curious.

  • @Musicman14231 Let's just say I've gotten to know the Barnes boys...

  • @TheSwillMan thats so cool that you know them! id like to meet them. those guys are cool! how do I go about meeting them??

  • @Musicman14231 yeah mr swill head, i bet youre billy mummy!!

  • Pass the LSD.........

  • 1:33 on rules

  • man this song...THIS SONG IS AMAZING!!!! any modern day song has nothing on this one

  • Oh my COD, this is amazing!!!

  • I remember when this very weird little video was making the rounds on the ultra-cool USA Night Flight show and Al-TV. In the days when cable TV was actually worth watching.

  • HI CARLOS!

  • i sware i saw somewhere that it was dr. demento who did this

  • @nibargerswife51482

He's the wino drunk in the movie. I think he also sings. I'm not positive, but he may even be the one half of Barnes and Barnes, with Bill Mumy being the other half.

  • @knightflyte Dr. Demento doesn't sing on this song. He's played it many, many times on his show...but he had nothing to do with its recording and he is certainly NOT a member of Barnes & Barnes. And yes, this video did premiere on SNL, albeit in heavily edited form... December 6, 1980.

  • @TheSwillMan Thanks for the clarification. I always assumed it was him, but never had any real confirmation. I haven't heard Dr. D since the mid 80s because he doesn't play in our market anymore. Do you know who is the other half of Barnes and Barnes, SwillMan?

Am I right that he is the wino in the doorway. It looks like him a bit, but thinner than I remember.

  • @knightflyte Yep, Dr. D is the fish head-entranced wino in the video. The other half of Barnes & Barnes is of course the legendary and reclusive Robert Haimer...

  • @knightflyte thats what im thinking too.

  • It's hard to believe that Bill Mumy made his start on The Twilight Zone, at age six.

This is the fantastic adult-reaction to that exposure. <3

  • all is ok until you sing this song in the middle of a school exam DX

  • what the FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I remember singing this song when i was 3 years old...i thought it was the best thing ever...now it seems a little bit weird...but so am i lmfao

  • Wow, that is really demented. I laughed at this when I was little. Now I'm watching it again probably 15 years later trying to figure out why I was laughing. This is really really horrible and sick. I love fish. Damn. Damn! I feel beyond horrible.

  • Wow - those must have been some awesome drugs Bill Mumy was doing in the Seventies.... :o

  • I think it's so funny that no one recognizes the first damn person in the video! Its Bill Paxton..whee!

  • @TehUberfemme

Whoops..I take it back, looks like someone else knew it was Bill Paxton here, at least..but whenEVER I mention this I get a blank stare.

    Boy, he was cute then.

  • Didn't Bill Mumy (of "Lost in Space" Wil Robinson INfamy) have something to do with this song, also???

My children think I am wierd when I suddenly, (just for fun) break out with my own rather stirring vocal rendition of this beautiful piece of intelligence!!!

  • @VillageBandMama yes, Bill Mumy is also Art Barnes, one half of Barnes & Barnes... they wrote and performed this song and co-directed this video.

  • @VillageBandMama

Guess who the skinny guy in the suit is? Bill Paxton! Currently of "Big Love" fame!

  • weird

  • this is a cool video :D

  • The first time I saw this was when I was tripping on 2 hits of REEEEEEEALLY strong blotter acid-perfect!

  • HAHA,, i love it!

  • r p fshds are never seen drinking cappuccino in italian restaurants with oriental women...yeeeaaah!

back in the olden days i rented this from blockbuster and recorded it from the tv to my, get this, codaphone. go roly polys!

  • Hah, the person that posted this said it was a 1980 video, when it is actually 1978. Come on people, at least Google something so you don't sound like you're talking out of your ass!

  • @mrcoolguyify you are the one talking out of your ass, pal-- the song was recorded in 1978, released on record in 1979, and this video was shot in 1980. toomp.

  • Bill just appeared on tonight's Jimmy Fallon show and the Roots greeted him with a redition of Fish Heads. Cool stuff!

  • I can't believe Bill Paxton directed and starred in this! Thanks for posting....

  • Thank you for uploading this. The first time I saw this was on Saturday Night Live when I was six.

    Thirty years ago.

    Damn I feel old.

  • I am so glad you posted this, like a couple people said before me I have been singing this song for years and nobody knows or remembers what I am talking about when I sing it! the video is a little different then I remember.

  • What are those things at 2:46 to 2:55?

  • Those pop-up things you see in children's books? The kind where you pull on a tab and something in the picture moves.

  • I've never seen those kind before, were those kind in the 1950's?

  • I guess

  • I have been sing'n that for twenty years and people think I' out of my mind but its pure genius. and a little stupid at the same time. Thanks for posting that.

  • I remember when I first heard this song. It was during when Nick At Night was pretty new, and there was this show called Turkey Television. It was around 84 or 85 when I was about 10 or 11. I have not heard this song in ages.

  • Oh thank God I found this. Now I can play it for my husband and kids because they think I'm insane for singing this song! Well, on second thought, even though they will know the song is real I don't think it's going to affect their view of my sanity! lmao

  • Those guys are weird.

  • But they look good in high-def!

  • @TheSwillMan i guess.... of course im 4 feet away from the master tape right now....

  • @artiebarnes let's watch it! i'm coming over to your house.

  • @artiebarnes I'd be more interested if the film source itself is still around. I'd love to see a digital transfer of that!
