I got a serious question. Why is the cross considered such a holy symbol just because Jesus died on it, when the long history of the cross repesented a old traditional method of execution for hundreds of thounsands of criminals? Remember, according to the scripture, two criminals were hung on the cross next to jesus. Is the cross a dark holy symbol or totally misleading? Also, why didi the ku klux klan burn the cross. I need serious answers.

Who do you think of when you think of: the electric chair, firing squad, lethal injection, Crucifixion. Christ's death was very inhuman. His back was cut to ribbons, his beard plucked out & was beaten beyond recognition. Isaiah 50:6; 52:13-15; 53 and other passages. Those who were Crucified were also NUDE. Wait a second, in the beginning of this video it says that we are ALL sinners and that we all deserve to go to hell because we're cursed. Yet at 3:08 in the video, it says that God took the babies souls into Heaven. Which is it? Are we all sinners, or can God just forgive us and let us into Heaven regardless of what we did, or what we believe? And if he can just forgive us like he did with those babies, why doesn't he just do that?

A baby 1, 2, 3 yrs old, etc will take a piece of candy from the checkout counter and eat it in front of you. But, when they know they're stealing, instead of eating the candy, they hide it. No one knows when the "age of knowledge" is. Babies are not mature enough to understand, sinning, repentance, asking God for forgiveness. But, a child 8, 10, 12 yrs old should understand (parental training).
@JesusHoldMyHand1 Did you not see the beginning of this video series? It said that we are all sinners because of Adam and Eve, and that everyone who is born, is born with sin in their life. So according to this video series, just because a baby hasn't told a lie, or had sex yet, is going to go to hell because the baby was born into sin. And yet, at 3:08 in this video, God made a CHOICE to let those babies into heaven even though they didn't accept Christ.
My point being is that God clearly made an acception to the rule which is, if you don't accept Jesus as your lord and savior, you will burn in hell. This really makes me angry because God CAN clearly just forgive people and yet he chooses not to. Instead, most of the people on the face of this planet are going to burn because they either havent heard about Jesus, or they don't believe. And yet God has the ability to forgive but chooses not to. What a loving God.

What events occur in people's live to make them start believing in gods? Indeed, at birth we are all atheists. We know nothing of gods or angels or heaven and hell. We may be baptised into a particular faith...but what events cause people to turn to mythology as a solution to their problems?

Well, it depends what 'Hell' means, whether is it Hades or the Lake of Fire and Brimstone. The former is for 1000 years (not forver, but very, very long), while the latter is, eternal.

hell is a burning place but it's only temporary, everyone in hell right now will come out to stand before God and then after the judgement they will all be cast into the lake of fire which is worse.
So when exactly did the immortal soul come into the Bible? It's quite clear that Adam and Eve were just expecting to die and return to dust. The Bible says that when Jesus returns He will raise the dead and take them back to heaven. Why would Jesus raise you from the dead if your already in heaven? At what point in the Bible did the immoratl soul start?
The immortal soul starts when you died. When Jesus died there was nobody in Heaven besides Him and the angels. When He rose He went down to Sheol and took the Righteous with Him to Heaven. Adam and Eve weren't expecting to die until Adam ate from the tree.

He had it all planned from the beginning, immortal souls have been here ever since the first death which was Abel. It says the dead in Christ shall rise first if that's what you're talking about and it's the Rapture. The ones who are in Heaven now will come with Jesus get their bodies from the grave or wherever they are and be changed to glorified bodies. Then the Church will be Caught Up to meet Him in the air and our bodies will be changed from perishable to imperishable just like theirs.

There is not one scripture in the Bible that says the immortal souls will return with Jesus to get their bodies. You can't be alive in two places at once. How can you come to life out the grave if your already alive in heaven? Jesus always talked about the resurrection of the dead. Where did Jesus talk about the immoral soul?
The body goes back to dust, the soul lives on. Read 1 Corinthians 15:51-58. We're not alive two places at once. Many times especially when He talks about Eternal Life with Him. The soul is immortal but at the Rapture they will have their bodies once again
Thanks for your reply, but Paul never talks about an immortal soul. Every scripture you read about people going to heaven talks about the resurrection. Jesus said a few times in the Bible that He would raise them at the last day. I just find it strange how there is not one scripture that says we go straight to heaven when we die. If we accept the immortal soul as truth, then it would make many scriptures in the Bible very confusing.
Yes but that scripture can mean something else. Some people believe it can mean that once a christian has died then his next concious thought will be with Jesus at the resurrection.

The reason is because Elijah was Raptured and never saw death neither did Enoch so i would say they have to be with the Lord but back then in Sheol. Paul was caught up to Heaven and in Revelation John saw the Church in Heaven before the Lord returned on the Mt of Olives.
Also when Jesus rose the righteous rose with Him and went to Heaven when He did and another is that Jesus told the man on the other Cross that this day you shall be with me in Paradise, He didn't say at the Ressurection. He said (This Day)
Nobody saw Heaven before Jesus died for our sins. They all went to the righteous side of Sheol also called Abraham's Bosom until Christ went down and brought them up. David didn't ascend into the Heavens until Christ ascended
i think they went to Sheol. The body returns to dust but the soul lives on, and yes because Revelation 14:11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
But the word forever can be symbolic. The Bible teaches that Sodom and Gemorrah were burned with eternal fire. But Sodom and Gemorrah are not burning today. They are ashes.
The Bible also teaches that the unsaved will perish. Perish means to be destroyed and be no more. It does not mean to be tormented forever.
But surely when we read Genesis, it does not look like Adam and Eve were expecting to burn in hell. Adam and Eve were meant to live forever on the earth in their bodies. They were not meant to die and their souls go to heaven. Makes no sense to me.
God knew what would happen, that's why when they died their souls along with everyone else that was righteous who died before Christ ressurected went to Sheol or paradise
But Sheol was just the grave. Adam and Eve went to the grave. Where in the OT does it say there is another paradise other than heaven? Sheol was simply the grave.
Remember the story of Lazarus the begger and the rich man. When Lazarus died he went to the righteous side as Sheol also called Abraham's Bosom. The rich man was on the other side which was burning, remember he asked Abraham to send Lazarus back to earth to tell his brothers about that place and for Lazarus to bring him so water. Sheol is known as the place where you can't praise God. In Heaven you can't but Sheol you couldn't
The story of Lazarus and the rich man, I believe, was just a parable. There are scriptures that show even righteous people went to Sheol. I know a video that explains the true meaning to this parable.
If we to take this parable literaly then that would mean that people in paradise could talk to people in torment. And if the rich man was in agonizing torment, do you really think he could have a conversation with Lazarus?
And Jesus raised Lazurus from the dead, out of his sleep.

The OT does not seem to teach that people had immortality. Everybody died because of sin. If everybody in the OT lived on after death then they did not die did they. Jesus came to defeat death, to save us from death.
They died bodily but not spiritually. Their spirit went to Sheol and that is where they lived until Jesus came to get them. They call it the grave because you can't praise God there. So to them that was death since they couldn't have any kind of connection with God.

This was when my friend's daughter feel ill with Bone Cancer. The whole congregation prayed for her healing. Nothing! When she got really bad, I changed my prayer
and just ptayed to god to end her suffering & take her quick! I prayed "that" prayer harder than any B4. God must have been playing golf cuz he didn't grant it!
Now U can say what U want, but there's no reason that he shoud not have granted our prayers to either heal...or take her quickly!! We got neither.
I still made excuses, but soon realized prayer was BS. I spent time researching it. God "can't" answer prayer!

I didn't see prayers answered in Vietnam when I was praying along with teh guys on the amputee ward (that's why the amputee website is so important now). After I got home and became born again, I didn't see prayer answered, and 2 years later (73), that baby died with the whole church praying.

Answer for original sin is so God would not have robots and would have people that would choose to serve Him which sin would be the opp of doing. Hell was made for satan and his angels but since sinful mankind wanted to go against God and do evil just as Satan did they go to the same place

the most absurd thing about hell is that it's eternal!! What possible purpose would eternal torment serve? None, unless god is even more evil than we can imagine! Maybe Hell is Eternal because God hates sin so much and that's the punishment. Remember He is Returning and when He does He won't be a happy with what he sees, He's coming to Judge and there will be NO rainbow cloud of mercy at the white throne judgement. I got a serious question. Why is the cross considered such a holy symbol just because Jesus died on it, when the long history of the cross repesented a old traditional method of execution for hundreds of thounsands of criminals? Remember, according to the scripture, two criminals were hung on the cross next to jesus. Is the cross a dark holy symbol or totally misleading? Also, why didi the ku klux klan burn the cross. Wait a second, in the beginning of this video it says that we are ALL sinners and that we all deserve to go to hell because we're cursed. Yet at 3:08 in the video, it says that God took the babies souls into Heaven. Which is it? Are we all sinners, or can God just forgive us and let us into Heaven regardless of what we did, or what we believe? And if he can just forgive us like he did with those babies, why doesn't he just do that?

A baby 1, 2, 3 yrs old, etc will take a piece of candy from the checkout counter and eat it in front of you. But, when they know they're stealing, instead of eating the candy, they hide it. No one knows when the "age of knowledge" is. Babies are not mature enough to understand, sinning, repentance, asking God for forgiveness. But, a child 8, 10, 12 yrs old should understand (parental training).

So according to this video series, just because a baby hasn't told a lie, or had sex yet, is going to go to hell because the baby was born into sin. In the garden of Eden, humans fell into sin when they became aware of the existence of evil; in order to be of aware of evil, you have to understand the consequences of actions, and little kids are still learning these things. @msorn3 ..for salvation. No one can can receive the message of the gospel unless they understand it. All babies are born with a sin nature, sin being separated from God, because of the influence of the world, but they don't actually sin until they're able to be held accountable for their own actions, and still choose to do what's wrong. I assure you that no one who's innocent can ever go to hell. Look at animals, they do 'bad' things like bite ppl, but they're still innocent bc they live by

What events occur in people's live to make them start believing in gods? Indeed, at birth we are all atheists. We know nothing of gods or angels or heaven and hell. We may be baptised into a particular faith...but what events cause people to turn to mythology as a solution to their problems?

@MrSaffo - Oh, no big deal. Going to various churches gave me a feel for what each is like, and ultimately I realized I just didn't believe any of it. I guess there is some quote that goes something like: Take two hands and spend a thousand hours praying, or a thousand hours working, and see which produces the greater result. On the other hand, all the hell stuff does makes a good story, though.

What's so obvious about the god concept, is that if he wanted to forgive us for our sins...the ones he cursed us with, which we didn't have a thing to do with, if he wanted to really bring us into him...he's say, "I forgive u for Orig. Sin, that U truly had nothing to do wit! I screwed up. I'm sorry & I forgive yuo!"

Hell is a vile, abusive, disgusting concept. God buys love & loyalty with torture? A Gandhi, Teresa, Mandela would never think of torturing their enemies, whereas a Saddam, Hitler, Stalin would. This is the company that God keeps? Karma & Rebirth is the better, the non-violent way. You are not punished, nor are you simply forgiven because you begged enough. Well, it depends what 'Hell' means, whether is it Hades or the Lake of Fire and Brimstone. The former is for 1000 years (not forver, but very, very long), while the latter is, eternal.

The Bible says that when Jesus returns He will raise the dead and take them back to heaven. Why would Jesus raise you from the dead if your already in heaven? The immortal soul starts when you died. When Jesus died there was nobody in Heaven besides Him and the angels. When He rose He went down to Sheol and took the Righteous with Him to Heaven. Adam and Eve weren't expecting to die until Adam ate from the tree.

He had it all planned from the beginning, immortal souls have been here ever since the first death which was Abel. It says the dead in Christ shall rise first if that's what you're talking about and it's the Rapture. The ones who are in Heaven now will come with Jesus get their bodies from the grave or wherever they are and be changed to glorified bodies. There is not one scripture in the Bible that says the immortal souls will return with Jesus to get their bodies. You can't be alive in two places at once. How can you come to life out the grave if your already alive in heaven? Jesus always talked about the resurrection of the dead. Where did Jesus talk about the immoral soul?

The body goes back to dust, the soul lives on. Read 1 Corinthians 15:51-58. We're not alive two places at once. Many times especially when He talks about Eternal Life with Him. The soul is immortal but at the Rapture they will have their bodies once again

Thanks for your reply, but Paul never talks about an immortal soul. Every scripture you read about people going to heaven talks about the resurrection. Jesus said a few times in the Bible that He would raise them at the last day. I just find it strange how there is not one scripture that says we go straight to heaven when we die. If we accept the immortal soul as truth, then it would make many scriptures in the Bible very confusing.

Yes but that scripture can mean something else. Some people believe it can mean that once a christian has died then his next concious thought will be with Jesus at the resurrection.
And the Bible seems clear that the wicked do not burn for eternity.

o ok i see what you mean but i don't think it means that. The reason is because Elijah was Raptured and never saw death neither did Enoch so i would say they have to be with the Lord but back then in Sheol. Paul was caught up to Heaven and in Revelation John saw the Church in Heaven before the Lord returned on the Mt of Olives.

Nobody saw Heaven before Jesus died for our sins. They all went to the righteous side of Sheol also called Abraham's Bosom until Christ went down and brought them up. David didn't ascend into the Heavens until Christ ascended

i think they went to Sheol. The body returns to dust but the soul lives on, and yes because Revelation 14:11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

But the word forever can be symbolic. The Bible teaches that Sodom and Gemorrah were burned with eternal fire. But Sodom and Gemorrah are not burning today. They are ashes.
The Bible also teaches that the unsaved will perish. Perish means to be destroyed and be no more. It does not mean to be tormented forever.

Remember the story of Lazarus the begger and the rich man. When Lazarus died he went to the righteous side as Sheol also called Abraham's Bosom. The rich man was on the other side which was burning, remember he asked Abraham to send Lazarus back to earth to tell his brothers about that place and for Lazarus to bring him so water. Sheol is known as the place where you can't praise God. In Heaven you can't but Sheol you couldn't

The story of Lazarus and the rich man, I believe, was just a parable. There are scriptures that show even righteous people went to Sheol. I know a video that explains the true meaning to this parable.
If we to take this parable literaly then that would mean that people in paradise could talk to people in torment. And if the rich man was in agonizing torment, do you really think he could have a conversation with Lazarus?
And Jesus raised Lazurus from the dead, out of his sleep.

That's exactly what I'm saying the ppl on the righteous side of Sheol were able to talk to the ones in torment but they were never able to cross over. It's only in Sheol when that was able to happen and the rich man said i'm tormented in this flame. I don't think that was the same Lazarus

Yes but the Bible does not teach the immortal soul. The devil lied to Eve telling her she won't die if she ate the fruit. Eve believed the devil. But after she ate she died many years later.
The OT does not seem to teach that people had immortality. Everybody died because of sin. If everybody in the OT lived on after death then they did not die did they. Jesus came to defeat death, to save us from death.

They died bodily but not spiritually. Their spirit went to Sheol and that is where they lived until Jesus came to get them. They call it the grave because you can't praise God there. So to them that was death since they couldn't have any kind of connection with God.

Jesus came to defeat death, so how could people in the OT have eternal life before Jesus came? Remember Adam and Eve were expecting to return to dust. God's purpose was for Adam and Eve to live forever on the earth, not to die and then their soul go elsewhere.
And I believe people in hell won't burn forever because the Bible teaches they will be destroyed in the lake of fire, which is the second death.

I do not want to change your beliefs but I want to teach what the Bible teaches.
The words forever can be symbolic. It does not always mean forever without end. Their smoke will ascent up and out of sight forever. There are scriptures that talk about the wicked being destroyed. Remember Sodom and Gemorrah were destroyed with eternal fire ( Jude 1:7 )
Even though the words eternal fire are used, Sodom and Gemorrah are not burning today. They are ashes. Just like the wicked will be ashes.

Now U can say what U want, but there's no reason that he shoud not have granted our prayers to either heal...or take her quickly!! We got neither.

Man, you really missed the boat on this one!
It wasn't about what "I" wanted! It was about intercessory prayer and if it was true or not...and it's not true!
I didn't see prayers answered in Vietnam when I was praying along with teh guys on the amputee ward (that's why the amputee website is so important now). After I got home and became born again, I didn't see prayer answered, and 2 years later (73), that baby died with the whole church praying.

friends, we each chose 1 kid who was terminal. We spent 3 days off & on, praying 4 their healing. At the end of our prayes, they were no better..
I spent time researching prayer after that & never saw it work!
Now there r studies on it & none have shown it as being effective, at all!
That's the bottom line!
My challenge is to ask a Xian to come with me to a childs cancer ward. You pray & I'll document it!
But I can prove it doesn't work right here, with words, if U like? Just ask

the most absurd thing about hell is that it's eternal!! What possible purpose would eternal torment serve? None, unless god is even more evil than we can imagine! The only purpose it coudl have is in pleasing the sadistically cruel desires of this god who would want to hear the screams of agony from those who he loves sooo much!

Maybe Hell is Eternal because God hates sin so much and that's the punishment. Remember He is Returning and when He does He won't be a happy with what he sees, He's coming to Judge and there will be NO rainbow cloud of mercy at the white throne judgement.
