  • good call by the ref. daniels was taking some nasty shots to that eye.

  • Great fight!

  • that was freakin hilarious below where a British guy[guessing by his use of 'yank'] tries a dig at said yank about dreaming about the US winning the World Cup of football

as if Americans in general ever gave a fig about football

hell, we invented our own football we hate football so much

just funny, like teasing a cat about its ineptitude at swimming

[cats generally stay out of the water, in case that was too SAT]

  • oh dang this is bad!

  • Comment removed

  • i mean daniels didnt even complain after the fight was stopped, never saw some1 winning acting like daniels in this fight.

look at vitali how angry he was after the fight was stoppedi n 2003 against lennox lewis, thats the reaction of a boxer who knows he still have a chance, unlike daniels here who was glad the fight was over.

  • ali was landing his left jab and straight right hand at will, but yet the anti ali fraction - which grows from day to day - still have the balls to claim he was getting outpunched, ROFL.

i have seen many pictures of ali vs cooper 63, the fight was similar to the blade 1 opening "bloodbath" scene, 2 more rounds and they would have carried cooper in a box out of the wembley stadium..

  • what happened

  • Daniels got cut in the second round which eventually stopped the fight.

  • jery, the fight was stopped allegedly because Daniels had a cut ---- but it wasn't bleeding when the fight was halted. Clay was protected from the very beginning as it's clear Daniels was outboxing him. This fight is a world-class stinker.

  • i beg to differ daniels never hit clay with any solid shots whereas clay hit him with many solid landing shots you can tell daniels is wearing down & he probrably would have been ko'd in the 10th round. nortice at the end daniels puts up no protest, he knows what was going to happen. notice also clay only fights at 75% most of the time & when he turns it up full blast his oppenents are sitting ducks.

  • Daniel's corner was livid with rage. As is always the case with Clay, what we see is always revised in order to maintain the myth of invincibility:

Logan is stopped for no reason.

Jones earns at least a draw but doesn't get it.

A glove is cut on purpose to avert a stoppage by Cooper.

Two schmellies v Liston are never explained.

    Fouls Bonavena repeatedly--no dq.

    Clutch+grab 12 rds Frazier II--wins anyway.

Outpointed in all 3 Norton. Wins 2.

    Gets whipped by Shavers--wins.

    Poor.

  • Beats Foreman despite repeated holding of the neck and head. "Ali boom eye-ay" had Foreman psychologically beat from start. Gets out-Ali-eed by Jimmy Young. Wins bad decision. Only the Shavers decision is more ridiculous.

Lucks out in Frazier III. Joe was in better shape for the last round but his corner yellowed out. Ali would not have lasted the round.

Clutch and grab 15 rounds in Spinks II. Wins. Ironically, v Berbick he may have done enough to win. By then, it didn't matter.

  • Lyle was also a dubious stoppage. Ali spent most of the first 10 rounds lying on the ropes not fighting back and then Lyle was stopped for doing the same? As his trainer Chicky Ferrara put it, "it just wasn't kosher".

  • Praise Allah for YouTube whose Ali-Lyle coverage certifies Flave's thesis. Referee Carlos Padilla wasn''t even focused on Lyle--all of a sudden he is seen stepping in. Was the standing 8-count in play in this fight? At any rate, it is yet another blemish on Ali's spotty past. What did Ali know and WHEN did he know it?

  • liston 1 liston had multiple cuts and swellings on face liston 2 the slow motion reveals listons head jarring back with the phanton punch & he didn't beat the count frazier 2 ali jars frazier in round 2 but ref wrongly stops round, the round is only half over norton 2 watch this fight over again shavers refuses to fight for 1st half of the fight while holding gloves in front of face hardling throwing any punches cut of glove unnecessary next round cooper receives 26 unaswered cutting blows

  • foreman and frazier were brawlers-getting up close to their opponents on the ropes-they were bullies without true fighting skills hence ali grabs them for a second so they can resume "boxing" not mauling & wrestling jimmy young crawls out of the ring and clutches & holds frazier 3 fraizier's face is beat to a pulp with dehydrated ali in 15th

  • There would have been no "next round" without the cut glove. Clay needed the full 4-minute break to recover as he was not ready after 60 sec. His hero was Jack Johnson whose strategy was to hold literally non-stop, throw a punch, resume holding. Other fighters hold + get breaks but no one had such a coddled, questionable career like Ali.

Against Berbick he fought well but Boxing finally said: "If it's close, give it to the other guy." Boxing no longer needed him.

  • i would like to see the entire clay vs cooper fight and the delay with the gloves. remember no other boxer in history was ever stripped of his title, especially at the age of 25, if his banisment would have been for 1 and a half years more the entire 5 years it would have been essentially a life ban. so with that in mind its only fair to give clay a few gimmes.

  • watch the amount of punches ali hits with they might not be the strongest but they all land.. he outclasses every fighter .. simples

  • Would welcome a punch-count in this fight with Daniels. There's no way Clay was outpunching him---look at it again.

  • mind ali was still young here .. basically all his fights ali out-punches everyone or k.o .. hes superior and its alot of shit ppl saying hes protected and things go his way.. daniels eye was probobly shut thats why it ended

  • unless you are in the ring or around you cant judge the fight. Especially one as hard to focus your eyes on as this one. Remember judges dont just base their decisions on how many punches are thrown. The punches that Ali(dont call him Clay as he does not want to be called by this name, I will respect this) threw were precision shots. Every punch was a image of athleticism. This is why he said he was pretty in the ring. I respect the decision as I was not there to see it.

  • Jet:

    1. There was no "decision." The fight was stopped because of a supposed cut but we can all easily see this cut was not causing any bleeding at the time of stoppage. Daniel's corner was rightfully enraged by this ridiculous action taken by the ref.

    2. Clay (his name was Clay then) was getting outboxed by Daniels and that was not going to stand. The powers in Boxing wanted him undefeated as he was climbing the ratings.

  • were you there? So how do you fully know? You dont know the full circumstances of the fight unless you are in the ring.

  • It would appear our good friend jet-boy was there. Idn't dat some-tin'?

  • You must have mistaken me. I said unless you are in the ring or around it you cant judge. So with that said, I'm unable to give my opinion. Sorry kid, but in the words of Muhammad Ali...."You wont trick me this time white devil" no racist pun intended. just a quote.

  • Fair enough, jet, and laughing with you regarding the Ali quote.

  • @jetdatboy

we see how angry Daniel's manager was--------------the cut was not all that bad and Don Dunphy knew it. This fight followed the Logan match---also stopped all of a sudden.

  • @lumpagogo

dont make a fool out of yourself , daniels was light years away from outboxing clay, do u even watch the fight or just read comments of that retarted ali hater flavius ?

  • @t3di

How many times have you failed your GED test?

  • @lumpagogo

i wanted to talk about boxing, didnt know a fat yank could be so oversensitive like u.

keep dreaming daniels was outpunching clay, i bet u also dream about winning the football world cup :D

  • que pasa porq lo eliminaron

  • El árbitro, Mark Conn, decidio parar la pelea por un corte que Daniels sufrió en el segundo asalto de combate.
