  • I've been trying to find an english translation of this piece, if you can post one or send me one I would greatly appreciate it. Great job on doing all four sections btw

  • It sounds really nice!

That "one man choir" thing is usually referred to as "multitrack". There are many videos like that on YouTube and I strongly recommend you to add "multitrack" to the title of your videos and to the video tags or many people could miss it!

  • Wait this is all you?

  • yup all me who else ? ;)

  • I'm pleasantly surprised. You obviously put some time into this!

  • about 45 minutes yeah lol

  • Very good!

  • thanks !!

  • Hi! First, sounds lovely! Second, I'm trying to work on my pronunciation for this song, and I have heard two different pronunciations for "Il l'apprête". One which seems to have an S or Z sound between the "il" and the "l'apprête", and one with just the L sound. Can you (or somebody else) help me figure this out?

    Thanks!

  • Thanks, and sure ! There is no s or z between the two ls ! The case where you hear a s sound at the end of a word is 1/when it's not silent (for instance : importance (same word in french)) 2/ when it's silent normally but the next word starts with a vowel.

So even if it's "ils l'appretent" (plural of "il l'apprete"), the s in "ils" remains silent because the next word starts with a consonant. If it was "ils appretent" you would make the liaison and add a "z" sound.

    Hope that helps !

  • its actually "je'le vous dirae". i sang this last week for U.I.L. we made all ones in competition!! *takes a bow*.

  • well done. Where do you take this "dirae" from though ? Is it a problem of prononciation or spelling ? Once again I am French and I'm pretty confident you spell it "je le vous dirai" (I will tell (it to) you).

  • hey cool ! =d thats awesome , we did this too for our 7th and 8th grade boys and girls mixed choir =D we got all ones too !!

  • He, I did too, and same grades as well! I'm a third year in the group and an Alto.

We had a French Canadian help us with the words... Though we put it as vous diray for that part....

  • quelque chose que vous devez ecoutez ses les choristes .

  • ou pas :)

  • wee sang this song in choir last year. but it's actually called Je Ne Lous. also we said mais il ne paas bou dou tout instead of what yall said after yall said je le vous di rai at 0:27. Maybe ours is different i dunno.

  • it's in french and I understand everyword of it since I'm french. "mais il ne paas bou dou tout" does not mean anything in french as far as i can tell, do you know what it was supposed to mean ? "Je Ne Lous" does not mean anything in modern french either, still as far as i know.

  • oh, i don't know how it is exactly spelled but that's just how the words sounded.

  • HAHAHAHAHAHA omg thank you SO much!!! this made my day!! hahaha

thanks also ! I have made other home made choirs, you can find them in my profile. I should make more soon as well !

  • I remember we did this once for All Region. I'm still sorry I missed it....

  • You will have the occasion in the future surely. What is all region ?

  • A Choir event. A bunch of people in 7-9th grade choirs from various schools compete to get into a top choir filled with REALLY good singers. You get three pieces to rehearse, and get to use your music when you audition. It's a lot of fun.

  • I love this lyrics. I think the tenor voice is the best. Congratulations. Just one problem: you say "vat à tout" but it's va à tout...

  • I know that's really bad uh :p (felt too lazy to correct it at the time). And the tenor voice is my "real" voice so it probably explains that.

  • Are you professional, semi-professional or amateur? (I think i know the answer but is always better to ask)

  • Complete amateur. And french. :)

  • You're french??lol...I was wrong,so. I thought your'e semi-professional. I'm also a amateur tenor.From Portugal.

  • Yeah I knew you would find it funny in relation to le "vatatou" :) Yeah amateur. Wish I could live of it in some way though ! Do you have any plan of the sort ?

  • Well, i think I'm more amateur than you are. At least my voice is not so "clean". I also play the violin. I

I'm on a music school, I don't know if there is a specific name in english, but in portuguese is "Conservatório". When finished, they give you a diploma and you can teach music, while in normal shcools you can't teach. I'm hoping to be semi-professional, someday, but not anything serious. I have other plans. But i'm quite young, so i can change my mind. 15, and you?

  • 27 ! but i was in a "conservatoire" (that's what we call it in french) when I was your age :)

  • Do you play any instrument?

  • Did you finished it?

  • I didn't go to superior cycle, just stopped in the 3rd cycle to have the diploma. Took it twice and got twice "assez bien". I'm not sure but you should have "tres bien" to get the diploma for real. I stopped at 18.

  • Yes I was studying piano there actually, not singing. See my other videos (nothing classical though)

  • Ok. You did this with "Cubase", right?? I just can't work with this program. How do you get to do all the voices with the correct tempo? Do you edit something or is it just talent???....

  • Nope it's easier than that. You can set the tempo of your tracks (that will determine the number of bars/time as you know). And there is an integrated metronom that you can play in the head phones. Pb solved ;)

  • lol...I'm really dumb...Thanks

  • Nah you're not. Cubase is tricky to get on the first place, but once you od it works very well !

  • Still my absolute favorite of yours. Maybe you should do more French choir chansons? :o)

I like the speed and the melody of this one.

  • Yeah me too. I want to do "il est bel et bon" next it's even more lively (at the end you have the sound of chickens and all).
