Im lookin 4 a song by CCB. They spelled Cold Crush in the rap & it was with a computer voice. It was like: "C" is 4 Charlie Chase, "O" is 4 outstanding bass, "L" is 4 the ladies we possess, "D" is 4design cause thats the way we dress... "C" is 4 that Cold Crush clientele, "R" is 4 the ryhmes that we runnin down so well, "U" is 4 u out there in the crowd, "S is 4 the system that we kickin really loud, "H" is 4 the homeboys we trust- put all together & it spells COLD CRUSH. Can anyone help?
the yes yes y'all era of hip hop was the freshest...cats harmonized and flowed with so much swagga it was off the hook listening to this makes me break out my shell toe Adidas, lee jeans, izod polo shirt, fat gold chain, cazl frames and kangol hat.......plus name belt.... B-Boy 4ever
No shit bro..."homeboy"! Thats the exact shit I was doin from '83-'86 in High School in Yonkers, NY. Right from when I heard Run DMC's "Jam Master Jay" record in '83. I was listening to classic rock until I heard that beat and the " J. A. Y. are the letters of his name" and I quickly learned of all the other NY Rap groups...CCB, Fearless Four,Treacherous 3, Just Ice, Mantronix, MC Shan etc. Dammit man what happened since then!!
industry!!....once they get involve the destruction of a culture began..HIPHOP started out as a way for us to protest against the system to expose the hypocrisy of government and be able to make "GhettoSuper" a status of F.R.E.S.H... now everybodies a thug or everybodies a drug dealer and the lyrical game is garbage me i have a collection of HIPHOP that keeps it alive for me
my fellow B-Boy i got that Jimmy Spicer "Dollar Bill, Bubble Bunch..Jekyll and Hyde "Am Pm all nite long"..UMC,CCB,Stets,T-La Rock, Casanova C super Lover Rud, Eric B and Rakim, BDP, Steady B, Schooly D, and classics that's outta this world real HIPHOP...even O.C and Krazy Eddie "Master of the Scratch" and Finesse and synquis "soul sisters".is your boy fresh to def or what???
I got all that too I just didn't wanna keep listing them all! Shit..."AM/PM" that was fresh! I loved that "Masters,Masters,Masters of the Scratch!" How bout..."the Game of Life...listen listen...The Game of Life...you got to pay attention...the Game of Life it's a message that we're sendin'"
man i respect your collection....i appreciate hearing that there are some real b-boys left...man i miss the ol slang"F.R.E.S.H. tha joint, dope, def," my daughter cracks up when she hears me and some of my dudes talk and that era of slang comes back...now her and her girls are trying to use it
What's old is new again. Remember "word"? You got my respect for bein down! Yeah some people kinda laugh when I say some of that too but it just comes out. It's part of that whole culture we came up in. Oh wait what about Spoony G..."P.S.K" "P's for the people that can't undastand"! Real chill talkin' witcha.
All those old school Rappers we've been talkin about came from the streets just like a lot of todays "rapppers" and the old school cats came up in the 70's & early 80's when NYC was in real bad shape but they still had a positive attitude & message in their raps. Now todays rappers are all about what you said already with the thug/drug dealer bullshit and the bling bling spinnin my necklace flashy shit with nothin to say. "I got money in the bank"...so what.
Ohhhhhhh you just took me their now i gotta go dig in the crates..pumpkin and the all stars...Dont 4get the original BADBOYS outta East New York..(F.R.E.S.H., Oh Veronica, BadBays featuring K-Love)
