MAN, I miss this stuff. I miss puppetry in movies, I miss seeing these characters just come to life like this. Thank you, Jim Henson, for all your creativity and love.
I grew up with the muppets as a big part of my life! I have the entire collection! I'm so glad to see others still enjoying them still too! I feel like part of the Henson family! lol I still laugh my head off at this video too... have for years!!! :)
i cant beleive i was really alive and able to comprehend this show when it aired in the 70's o m g im old but even after all these years the muppets rock like no other show !!!!
Jim Henson, Jerry Nelson and Frank Oz were or are so talented. Now that's entertainment I can sit down and enjoy with the family. I'm a 40 year old man, and not ashamed to admit I still enjoy the Muppet Show!
LOL… the guy who created this either ought to get on Oscar or change medications. I didn’t think it was possible, but this ting somehow manages to simultaneously toke the piss and pay homage to Country Music. ...
How come we don’t see TV of this quality anymore? I’m kind of sick and tired of stuff like singing with the stars, dancing with the stars, comping in the jungle with the stars, colonic irrigation with the stars etc.
@fractuss Because it's easier for a muppet performer to use the rods with the left hand and manipulate anything else (i.e. the mouth) with the right hand.
I don't understand why Family Guy would show a black man asking for directions to Kermit in the forest/swamp who's playing a banjo and then pulls out a shotgun clicking it replying 'Yeah, back where you came from."
I have to say, this might be the video I've watched the most in the past two years on YouTube. One time, my husband and I watched it together for about 40 minutes, over and over. Thanks for posting this for silly Muppet-lovers!
well just in case you all dont know each of these specific muppets were made after the originals, as you can see the banjo player is Jim Hensn i do beleive the others were a producer and an assistant of some sort and i agree nothing makes me smile more than this video thanks for all the laughs when i was a kid Jim may you rest in peace god bless you!.
They coulda been contenders! maybe still could, in the neotrad contest at the Appalachian String Band Festival--but they'd have to tighten up their act.
This is not only a hilarious and cute skit, it's also evidence of an enduring phenomenon: when given the option to build human representations, eventually, you WILL make yourself and your friends.
Legends Jim Henson and Frank Oz made really impressive, silly, and heart-warming songs and Muppet skits. Their imaginations combined makes for unforgettable memories that we all can share. :)
I'm only 14 and missed the muppet show by a mile and a half but I grew up on video-taped episodes of the Muppet Show and I've seen almost all of it. Jim was a mad genius. Does anybody know if these threee puppets sang anything other than this and "The Road to morrow"???
Gabrielle this mad genius only had a few song that this trio did, which is to bad they were hillarious. and i did grow up in the muppets era and it was some of the greatest family television of the time.
Thanks so much for putting this on here. I giggle like an idiot everytime the Jim Henson muppet scrunges his face up, at the beginning and at 0:57. Also, Jim's muppet jumps around like a maniac, it's just fantastic. Are there any more songs around with these three besides this one and the 'To Morrow' one?
Jim Henson once said if someone had told his mother he would take a golf ball and her old green coat and become famous, she probably would have believed them.
This version is great and so is the one with Roger Miller and the watermelons.
