  • This version is great and so is the one with Roger Miller and the watermelons.

  • LovE it

  • Comic Genius. RIP JH

  • MAN, I miss this stuff. I miss puppetry in movies, I miss seeing these characters just come to life like this. Thank you, Jim Henson, for all your creativity and love.

  • I've been watcing this for 27+ years, and it's still HILARIOUS!

  • Buenisímo! jaja. ^^

  • I grew up with the muppets as a big part of my life! I have the entire collection! I'm so glad to see others still enjoying them still too! I feel like part of the Henson family! lol I still laugh my head off at this video too... have for years!!! :)

  • i cant beleive i was really alive and able to comprehend this show when it aired in the 70's o m g im old but even after all these years the muppets rock like no other show !!!!

  • 5 people obviously don't know that these are self-portrait muppets of Jim Henson and Frank Oz ;D

  • The base-player checking his fingers at 1:09... hilarious

  • Buaahahahaha!!

  • Jim Henson was a muppet God. I wish I was a muppet.

  • Oh my gods. Jim's face at 0:57 is all I need in life. LMAO

  • YEW DON WANT MUH LUUUUV

  • lol this video is great

  • surely this was an ode to roger miller, id like to think so, absolutely wonderful and took me back how many years?!!

  • i love this one.

  • Jim Henson, Jerry Nelson and Frank Oz were or are so talented. Now that's entertainment I can sit down and enjoy with the family. I'm a 40 year old man, and not ashamed to admit I still enjoy the Muppet Show!

  • this is so FANTASTIC! i had never seen it before, but now i am now obsessed with it!

  • assolutamente strepitosi, mai riso tanto...ahahahah

  • It's Jim, Jerry Nelson, and Frank Oz...I love it!

  • LOL… the guy who created this either ought to get on Oscar or change medications. I didn’t think it was possible, but this ting somehow manages to simultaneously toke the piss and pay homage to Country Music. ...

How come we don’t see TV of this quality anymore? I’m kind of sick and tired of stuff like singing with the stars, dancing with the stars, comping in the jungle with the stars, colonic irrigation with the stars etc.

  • @Greengate777 maybe to (mis) quote a movie "I'll have what he's having"

  • Jim Henson...we still miss you!

  • I wonder how many takes this took, I can see them breaking up and corpsing multiple times during this entire performance

  • Brilliance in its purest form

  • Why are so many muppets left handed?

  • @fractuss Because it's easier for a muppet performer to use the rods with the left hand and manipulate anything else (i.e. the mouth) with the right hand.

  • @fractuss Mainly Because the Muppet performers are right Handed...

  • fucking brutal!! hell yeah

  • who is the real singer to this song?

  • Is the banjo player suppose to be Jim Henson?

  • @rct126 Yes it is, and that's Frank Oz right behind him.

  • Does anyone know where i can get the MP3 of this?

  • Hahaha, this video still has me laughing almost 3 years after posting it. :)

  • @HumNummaHumma And it's gonna have you laughing 20 years from now as well :D

  • @HumNummaHumma it is that good, :-) thanks for posting it

  • @HumNummaHumma

If someone can't laugh at Muppets, no matter their age, something is wrong with them imo :D

  • I have mixed feelings about this video.

  • BUR-RIL-LY-ANT!!!!!!!!!!!

  • OMG...This is one of the best things ever!

  • you've got ta, find yo' self anothuh, anothuh piece anothuh piece o' the action YO" CRAZY, oh my...

  • That was awesome.

  • I don't understand why Family Guy would show a black man asking for directions to Kermit in the forest/swamp who's playing a banjo and then pulls out a shotgun clicking it replying 'Yeah, back where you came from."

  • I love those Henson Muppet squints.

  • LOVE IT!! One of the reasons I loved watching the Muppet Show... well whenever the re-runs came on...

  • On the left is Jim Henson, in the middle is Frank Oz, and on the right is Jerry Nelson. Fantabulous!

  • I have to say, this might be the video I've watched the most in the past two years on YouTube. One time, my husband and I watched it together for about 40 minutes, over and over. Thanks for posting this for silly Muppet-lovers!

  • I think is was a lot longer than 40 minutes!

  • I meant 40 hours.

  • LMAO! I love how Jim keeps scrunching his face up. He is a legend that will live on in his muppets forever. R.I.P

  • Comment removed

  • Poor Roger Miller... LOL

  • Man, that muppet on the left looks ALOT like Jim Henson! (I know it is him as the puppeteer)

  • well just in case you all dont know each of these specific muppets were made after the originals, as you can see the banjo player is Jim Hensn i do beleive the others were a producer and an assistant of some sort and i agree nothing makes me smile more than this video thanks for all the laughs when i was a kid Jim may you rest in peace god bless you!.

  • although Frank doesn't have red hair. but yeah this video is awesome!

  • I can't get enough of the clip...

"Cos you don't want (scrunched-up nose) LORV!"

    The best ever!

  • I Usually use Voydo.

  • Yes that's frank

  • Yup

  • in the second he goes "loove" he starts the voice for the swedish chef :)

  • simply put? GENIOUS!

  • yes!! =)

  • One of my favourite muppet harmonies ever, Jerry and Jim worked great singing together in this one.

  • They coulda been contenders! maybe still could, in the neotrad contest at the Appalachian String Band Festival--but they'd have to tighten up their act.

  • YOU DONT WANT MY LOVE!!! (FROWN) hahaha LMAO

  • HAHAHAHA! Fucking awesome!

  • haha where can i download the audio to this ?

  • youtube clip extractor. Its what I use.

  • omg lol

  • this one makes me LOL every time. i love the characature qualities of these muppets.

  • I know of this one and the Train To Morrow... but were there any other things these three did? I love em.

  • thats the jim henson, frank oz, and jerry nelson puppet.

    classic

  • awesome!!!

  • I love this but the most underappreciated part is the end of the description. Unexplained.

  • Jim Henson just glared at us at the very end.

And this song is way too happy to match the title.

  • Roger Miller does it a little more somber (to begin with at least) in Season 3. That one's great too! :)

  • i love jesus hobos not to mension muppets

  • I love the Muppies... omg, fantastic performance !

  • lolol this song is just so funny! xD

  • It's the Kings of Leon!

  • I always thought this was funny, but now that I know someone has nightmares about it, its a little funnier. Pure genius.

  • This is not only a hilarious and cute skit, it's also evidence of an enduring phenomenon: when given the option to build human representations, eventually, you WILL make yourself and your friends.

  • Let me guess.

    Banjo player: Jim Henson

    Bass player: Frank Oz

    Guitar player: ?

  • Guitar player: Jerry Nelson.

  • Guitar player is Jerry Nelson

  • Amazing!

    Thank You

  • sounds like big bird

  • shouldn't. caroll spinney isn't involved.

  • So what's the name of this trio?

Is there any other skitches by them other than "To Morrow"?

  • Legends Jim Henson and Frank Oz made really impressive, silly, and heart-warming songs and Muppet skits. Their imaginations combined makes for unforgettable memories that we all can share. :)

  • LOL this is so funny :D:D

"You don't want my Lorf" I can't stop smiling!!

  • Frank Oz (base player) is a hoot in this. Man, I miss Jim Henson

  • This cracks me up everytime!!!!! :D

  • Lol, a mad genius..., quite a sharp observation for a 14-year old, but true, Henson is very underrated to my point of view.

  • everyone i've met rates him very highly.

    class act

  • I lve this!!!

I'm only 14 and missed the muppet show by a mile and a half but I grew up on video-taped episodes of the Muppet Show and I've seen almost all of it. Jim was a mad genius. Does anybody know if these threee puppets sang anything other than this and "The Road to morrow"???

  • Gabrielle this mad genius only had a few song that this trio did, which is to bad they were hillarious. and i did grow up in the muppets era and it was some of the greatest family television of the time.

  • You dont want my lurve

  • That must have been slightly weird for them...

  • Excellent so cute I love the puppets 10***thanks for sharing and posting also a thank you to ELVISFAN1978 for share GOD BLESS

  • From what season/episode is this? or who is guest in the show this episode? :)

  • Season 1, episode 23, guest starring Kaye Ballard.

  • ;-D awesome. Yoda played bass before he was a jedi

  • Frank Oz is the redhead playing bass. The dark haired guitar player is Jerry Nelson. And of course Jim Henson is obviously on the banjo. :)

This video is just awesome. I love the Country Trio.

  • Frank Oz has black hair. I can't remember who the redhead was.

  • LOL...U DONT WANT MY LOVE!!!!!!!

  • I didn't know Frank Oz was a redhead.

  • Can't get enough of this...thanks a million HumNummaHumma!

  • Is this the AVETT BROTHERS back in the 70's?!

  • Is this THE AVETT BROTHERS circa 1979?

  • Ahahaha! Thanks!

  • Thanks so much for putting this on here. I giggle like an idiot everytime the Jim Henson muppet scrunges his face up, at the beginning and at 0:57. Also, Jim's muppet jumps around like a maniac, it's just fantastic. Are there any more songs around with these three besides this one and the 'To Morrow' one?

  • i luv this its great!!!!

  • I wish Roger Miller's version was posted. Anyone have this song?

  • Jim Henson, Frank Oz and Jerry Nelson. NICE DESIGNS! That Jim likeness is cool! Great memories.

  • Thanks for putting this up. Been hoping for another of the clips using these characters.

  • Henson was pure genius. Thanks for putting this up!!!

  • Jim Henson once said if someone had told his mother he would take a golf ball and her old green coat and become famous, she probably would have believed them.

  • Great, real talent there. Love the muppets. We all wish Jim was still alive!!!

  • That song makes me laugh too. :) I remember those same Muppets sang a neat song called, The Road To Morrow.

  • This never ceases to make me giggle.

  • sweet! i wish jim was still alive. he was influential in my humor development as a young lad.
