As coach, Maurice is responsible for getting the best out of his players regardless of circumstances. That's his job. He didn't like the question because he knows he's not doing his job. Yes, he's workin' his azz off, but it's not enough to get the job done. He's the wrong man, and he knows it now. I think he'd be better working with kids. He's too easy on the Leafs -- tends to coddle them and be overprotective. There's a softness in him that's softened them. Too much talk, not enough action.

Maurice was an all around good guy and coach. The players just didn't play for him. Just like they aren't playing for Wilson.
But Maurice seems like a much nicer person than Wilson.
