I've always wondered how "Living Eyes" never became a big sucess of the Bee Gees...Guess the song came somehow out in "the wrong time" (Saturation of the "Disco Era")
Nice work denise.....I love the photo at 4:12, one of my favorites and the song is awesome. Does any one know where I can purchase the complete collection of ALL the Bee Gees songs? It was on public tv here about a week ago and I missed purchasing it but would love to have it because it's ALL of their music in one compilation. Please and thank you!
Hermosa melodía que me hace recordar los días llenos de ensueño de mi juventud; dicen que recordar es vivir. Muchas gracias y muchas felicitaciones por darnos estos momentos.
Living Eyes is one of my favorite album of BeeGees though it's less popular & also Living Eyes is the favorite song among them. I like Jeff Porcaro's drums on this song.
@jacksonsjtjmmr You're totally reight!!! I guess it is their best Album(OK,you don't have to listen to Maurice's Song's,but thats the same on every one). But if you take Songs like Soldiers or Cryin' every Day (my favorite, even i'am a Barry Fan),you have to admit that this is their most underrated Album ever!!!
Unless Rhino Records re-releases the album or includes the song in a "Best Of" collection, the chances of "Living Eyes" returning to the US appear to be slim at best.
The thing that killed the album was that it was released during the Disco Backlash. It wasn't panned so much as it was ignored.
The Gibbs were forced to break from recording as a group but produced albums for other people (Dionne Warwick "Heartbreaker", Kenny Rogers "Islands in the Stream" and Diana Ross "Eaten Alive").
one of their most brilliant CD's...people had enough of them because they defined the 70's and there was that whole disco backlash so the Living Eyes CD went unnoticed for the most part...but you can get it on ebay or amazon by buying it from sellers...I got mine in Japan...cost me about 15$...but it was worth it...one of their best albums
This song should have been the first single from the album instead of "He's A Liar." Although I don't think it would have garnered any airplay since American radio stations were essentially blacklisting the Bee Gees at the time.
@beatlejuice72 : I totally agree with your comment. I watched MTV practically nonstop back in the '80s and don't ever recall seeing He's a Liar video on there. I was in high school back then and believe me there was a stigma on anything that had to do with disco.
@beatlejuice72 I've always thought the reason for the failure of this album is that it isn't a very commerical album, not because of 'radio blacklisting'.There's no strong hooks in any of the songs. It isn't soul music either like Spirits having flown, Saturday night fever, Children of the world. It's 80s synth pop, maybe their fans weren't interested in that type of music. In my case that's certainly the issue. It's my least favourite Bee Gees album and it's not as good as the five that came before
WOW nice work Denise! I know what you mean about watching full screen, so much better. love the green cat eyes as the finale. ******** thank you! XOXO

This is a good album- I just recently had someone put this on cd for me since it's out of print; it probably is one of their best!

Crafty songwriting at it's finest. Great chord changes, key changes and production. A bit weak on the lyrics, but otherwise, exemplery.

@beatlejuice72 I agree and why this song is missing from their box set "Tales From The Brothers Gibb" I'll never know.
