@lukekiss87 Clutch and TOB, however the dealer said the sound was coming from the TOB, the clutch was replaced do to "Heavy wear due to driving the car the way it was intended" (the service manager at the local dealership is a reasonable man.
Anyone get an actuall answer on this? Even though people are telling me (dealer included) don't worry about it's nothing, I'm gonna fucking lose my mind. Sounds like there's a chipmunk caught in my engine!
Mine made the exact same noise in when I put it in reverse. Then I started getting a clicking noise when I pushed on the pedal. Within a week of the start of the clicking noise the clutch eventually wore down completely. 2010 WRX
what the hell is wrong with our wrx's...freaking stupid. I have this too...about 3 months after installing a new ACT clutch because the stock one was completely gone after 20K
I've got the SAME problem, except in reverse.. it makes the sound when the pedal is pushed in.. disappears when the clutch is engaged.. watch my video
@yodathedrunk I watched. Check 3gwrx.com, there are a bunch of threads about this issue. Basically the answer I have received from everyone is don't worry about it. When the car stops working, worry about it.
@theRealSubaruDude from what I have read on nascock and 3gwrx its the throw release bearing. yay, my first warranty claim :( At least I am still stock...
@theRealSubaruDude I don't think I have to worry, no slippage, no burnt smell, no reason for them to hassle me. And if they do I will come out fuckin swingin!
my 09 wrx is starting to make this noise to 13000 miles on it mostly does it when it rains

@pressrolls Interesting take. What problems have you encountered with YOUR 3G? I am beyond pleased with mine other than this minor annoyance.
