  • I don't think Roger even messed up his hair during this practice round LOL.

  • @isaacsandrew77 Because he shampooed his hair with Garnier..one of the proud sponsors of Australian Open lol

  • perfect

  • you know you're the greatest of all-time when not only are your matches the most watched on youtube, but your practice sessions are too.

  • wow roger

    youtube.com/watch?v=_i4fmRcvPzI

  • Fed...a player with class.

  • It's as if he's intentionally trying to look pretty...but that's just how he plays

  • just watching him practice makes me really happy... he's beautiful to watch :')

  • Just playing a little tennis with my rolex, no biggie. Legendary. nuff said

  • Federer the legend!

  • Federer isn't poetry in motion... Poetry is Federer standing still.

  • So Crisp.

  • love the new racket color..

for some reason i hated the black/gold/red color of the six one blx

  • @Kiser153 I love those new racquets, I think they look pretty cool. I bet it's mostly marketing from Wilson, but still, I can't wait to get the new Tour edition. The one like Nishikori's!

  • I don't know if this would help, but I think he needs a couple guys on the other side with as heavy a topspin and hard as possible of shots that he can practice against and get to the point where he can hit those as naturally and easily as he is doing here. There's gotta be some way that he can beat Nadal at least one more time in a major. I'm so f*#!ing tired of seeing him lose to Nadal at majors!!

  • @joejohn1423 Not sure if Roger can ever beat Rafa in a five-set major again, and he'll sure have a tough time if he has to play Rafa and Novak back-to-back- his chances will be very slim in this scenario. The French is out Roger's reach as long as Rafa is healthy so his best bet is Wimbledon or the US Open.

  • @sarasmilepiano probably, but he did have what seemed to be his best chance ever against Nadal (at roland garros) last year, and just tightened up. He probably should have won the 1st set if not for that almost-silly drop shot choice, and it seems like lately, Roger has been playing poorly after breaking Nadal's serve, like he relaxes too much or something. So frustrating!

  • @joejohn1423 Yes, Fed had a fantastic opportunity at the French, but in the end Rafa's style of play is too much for Roger on clay. Keeping the pressure on Rafa is a tough ask and the only player to do it consistently at critical moments is Novak. That's not to say that Roger isn't mentally tough- he definitely is- but Rafa is a level above him in that department, imho.

  • Who was he hitting with?

  • The style of his play in a match is similar to the style of his play in practice...relaxed!!

  • new racket ;o

  • Brilliant!

  • So loose and relaxed!!!

  • Nice shirt!! He looks absolutely adorable. Would be nice to see him wearing this during an actual game! :))

  • what racket is that ? k factor wilson ?

  • @theoneness99 Official Federer 2012 racquet: Pro Staff Six.One 90 BLX.

  • Just saw Federer sweep the floor with Tomic... KEEP IT UP FED!!

  • fast racquet speed!!

  • Sweetest backhand shot the game has ever seen.

  • @MexicannBean sweetest 1h backhand shot*

  • 굿

  • Technically perfect - that's the thing - and then good court senses. No doubt he is the best. Definition of talent - dedication - hard work - confidence and a gentleman.

  • backhand too smooth

  • oh...

    Swing speed is not simple.

  • Comment removed

  • He is the king

  • His game is flawless.

  • @philstu1 There is a flaw, backhand topspin, and so he slices it alot, but it wears out.

Watch nadal and Nole next time, whenever they need to win a point they just hammer his back hand 2, 3 or 4 times and they've got it :)

  • 0.36 ... 2 vs Federer? :)

  • Greatest forehand the world has ever seen.

  • effortless.

  • 2 v 1 XD hey rog ill come and itll be 3 v 1 :D how sweet would that be receiving shots from rog :O

  • New Racket :D

  • What a player , what a forehand , what a joy to watch him : He's got it all !!!!

  • he looks younger

  • everyone who really knows tennis on youtube knows how controversial my comments are and how much hate I had for Fed. Then I realized I was just bitter because he replaced my childhood idol Sampras. But it's nothing about replacing, Fed has said his main inspiration was Pete and he's always tried to be the best he can be like a true champion. While deep down Sampras will always be for me the greatest player of all time, I think both are the best. So for the first time, come on Fed!!

  • @pistolpete58 Pete was freakishly-athletically gifted, with superb feel for the game, and great mental fortitude- so the comparisons between him and Roger are justified. But another way to look at it is Roger is an extension of Pete, or stated alternatively, Roger is the Pete of the 21st century. It will be curious to see how Roger will perform past 30; my guess is he'll do just fine.

  • @sarasmilepiano very well said sara!

  • @pistolpete58 It's almost impossible to compare eras. Things change so quickly in just a few year span. Technology has changed, the way players train and how much they train, the shoes, the strings, the size of the racquets, the tennis balls are bigger and get more fluffier, more nations are involved now than ever, there are more tournaments, style of play had definitely changed, traveling is easier...You can only speculate on who the best from each generation/decade were.

  • @davd1986 agreed.

  • @pistolpete58 What mature comment!

  • @pistolpete58

i never realized your hatred for federer before though, but good on you

i just hope you can enlighten a certain Rafathaman94 someday, now that guy is a pain in the ass

  • @foul01 You never realized? Haha wow I've been here on here since 06' in Federer's prime voicing my opinions against him and giving favourable opinions towards Pete and Rafa. Rafathaman94 is an absolute toolbox, but if he really is a true fan and passionate about Tennis, he'll realize in time how good/legendary Federer was and what he did for the sport of Tennis. If he doesn't, so be it; he's severely delusional and he's missed out on one of the greatest, if not the greatest player of all time.

  • @foul01 not as much as you

  • @pistolpete58 So you're one of those wankers that thinks everybody on youtube knows them from his comments.

  • @ashfi1994 who the fuck are you, you tryhard wank? I've been commenting since 2006 on all sorts of Tennis videos, and clearly the general consensus show's what I wrote made sense as people do recognize my name. Get out of here you degenerate, before I embarrass you further.

  • @pistolpete58 So, you've been commenting on videos since 2006 like a loser. Yet, I have no clue who you are.

You're seeking recognition for a bullshit thing on youtube. Well, I'll give you no praise. Now crawl back into your mum's vagina, or do something useful with your life to get recognition, instead of thinking you're a bigshot for commenting on youtube tennis videos.

  • @ashfi1994 Cute. Just because you don't know who I am doesn't mean others don't know who I am. Why is commenting on Tennis videos being classified as a loser? It shows passion for the game in expressing ones thoughts.

I'm not seeking any recognition (insecure much) dumbass, I'm merely stating how my mindset has changed in terms of Roger Federer and he has won the respect/admiration from one of his former biggest haters. What is it that you do, besides trolling, you little shit? You're nothing.

  • @pistolpete58 Nobody knows who you are. Nobody. Your real father doesn't know who you are.

Heck, you might even be my kid, I'm sure I've banged thy mum at some point in my short life.

I have no problem that you admire Roger Federer. But your up-yourself-post about how "people on youtube know me" made me stop admiring the good part of your comment and turned me into a big hater of an arrogant bastard kid of mine that thinks he's a bigshot on youtube.

  • @ashfi1994 I sense a tad bit of jealousy. Are you not a radical islamist though? And as much as you wish that happened, the average size of an islamic cock is about 1.5 inches, and yeah your Mom did tell me this after I banged her with my Alpha 8 incher.

Get over it douchebag, my comment is true and thats why there are several likes behind it. You're a big hater of an arrogant bastard kid of yours? Who are you talking about, your illegitimate love child with your father? Unsubscribe you troll.

  • @pistolpete58 Nope, I'm sure not! :)

Lol, sign of a loser to use the same comment back. I tell you how much of a skank your mum is, and then you come back with the same response.

You, my illegitimate son, are a loser. Plus, I'd smash you at tennis any day. Plus Federer would smash you. And Sampras would rape you, though you'd probably enjoy that and bend over for him.

Now like I said, crawl back into the loose vag; you were a sperm cell that should've been swallowed.

  • @pistolpete58 Also, lol, you think 8 inches is big.

Are you 5'10''? That's a manlet in my dictionary. You can't be my kid, even my most deformed cell wouldn't form a kid that short.

  • @ashfi1994 This is coming from a radical islamist who spends the bulk of his day fighting islam's corner in other youtube channels? A simple google search reveals "ashfi1994" is doing exactly what he is condemning pistolpete for "seeking recognition for a bullshit thing on youtube". LOL

  • VAMOS ROGER TU PUEDES VOLVER A GANAR EL ABIERTO DE AUSTRALIA DESDE MEXICO TE MANDAMOS LAS MEJORES DE LAS VIBRAS ERES EL MEJOR

  • I don't like.

  • oh god he looks so fit and fine. i hope he wins this slam. praying for him

  • "great", "beautiful", "sexy"... I bet his opponents are thinking "fuck", "shit, "MOFO"...

  • omg that backhand is so sexy

  • nice rolex watch,good timing,hahaha

  • His looking good , but he slices his backhands alot

  • @YazzyBoo11 that's all he does with tha backhand. when an opponent wants to beat him he just hammers it on the backhand. Federer can lift his game and get angry. But Nadal and Djoko are psychologically too strong that's why they beat him alot.

Just watch the forehand/backhand dance next time you watch a Federer match. It's very clear once you take note of it.

  • @sorryibrokethetrees when he was in his prime he used to hit his backhand way more, now he only does it on days he's playing really good.

  • @Valentin0313 I didn't know that. I must say I've never seen a good backhand from him. But I didn't really watch tennis before 2002-3 or 4

  • @sorryibrokethetrees Wow, if you actually watched him playing in 2004-2006, his backhand was top level...

  • @HornyGates ok.

  • @Valentin0313 because he's not allowed to by players with heavy top spin

  • @sorryibrokethetrees Federer has the best slice backhand in the circuit, possibly the best I've ever seen, and it's totally justified that he uses it. Often around 08-09, I've seen him lose many points trying to outpace his opponents' defense with his topspin backhand, whereas the points where he had actually defended with his slice were much more balanced. I feel that his weaker shot on his backhand is his chip return on the serve.

  • @wordlesssong Few will disagree with you there: Roger does have best slice on the tour, and used it with great effectiveness against Delpo last night, mixing it up and going for some drop slices. But it is a complementary shot to his bread-and-butter forehand. Though the topspin backhand was working well yesterday against the Argentine (who hits flat and hard), it will be vulnerable vs Rafa, where it will kick near shoulder height-something he always had diffculty with.

  • @sarasmilepiano then i guess i recommend federer to learn how to high bouncing balls like gasquet O_o

  • @Kiser153 I agree! I've always thought he needs to master a new way of hitting the topspin backhand at shoulder-height, just for the Nadal matches. Maybe he needs a grip change for that. He certainly has the talent to learn a new method. Although, I did think his backhand looked really really good all tournament. He just made bad errors in important games, even with the forehand, like hitting it into the net, which just seems to suck the life out more than other misses

  • @joejohn1423 i thought most times he needs to change how he hits his shots. but that was not the problem this time. bis backhand was deep which he never did before. what i think was the problem was that federer doesnt want to play to a solid plan which nadal does to beat fed. i realized in that match that nadals backhand was weak. what fed should have done was play crosscourt with his forehand deep to nadals backhand consistently throw him off balance and dictate.

  • @joejohn1423 instead fed tried to play shots that made him lose his shape while nadal was on the run on on the open court forehand wing. and made nadal hurt him with some passes with the forehand. i think fed should make nadal come up with some tough passes on the backhand. this is the same tactic which djokovic uses to break down nadals backhand. i believe if fed attacks nadals backhand. nadal would have problems because federers forehand is heavier than novaks.

  • Wait...new racquet?! That one looks like the k factor one

  • MORON O.O

  • Roger looks in great shape, I really hope he can win another major this year!

  • looks like his vintage ground stokes are back !

  • damn it looks so natural..

  • 2:10 secs worth watching

  • ew wtf thats the new wilson racket? white and red…? gawww they ruined the blx's look!

  • His swing looks faster...

  • Of course he's looking young....he's only 30 years old for gods sake. He is still a young man, maybe not so young in tennis years, but he still has it in him to win Grand Slams.

  • Roger's looking relaxed and ominously confident!

  • loving rog he look young on this vid I love whatching his practise seshons!

  • I want his t-shirt ! =O

  • @TheB3nj you can buy it, it's part of his NYC USO 2011 range.

  • singled backhand is not enough to win a grand slam nowadays.....

  • @YuriandWolfram Damm right. But if said backhand comes attached to Federer, is quite enough to win a mayor. 16 mayors, actually.

  • im a djokovic fan but i hope roger wins this one cause i want him to win all 4 in one year. then hell have 20gs including a "grand slam".

  • roger is looking great!!! im gonna chuck 100 bucks on him for the aust open winner

  • Federer Express <3

  • 2004,2006,2007,2010,2012.

  • crazy forehand racquet speed, its like two frames from hitting the ball to being being behind his back

  • Guys... What he's doin right now is more than just hitting balls over the net.

  • @violinexpert1 No shit...

  • man federer's 30 but he looks like he's 20 keep up with that hair rog! :D

  • of course he's ok man he pulled out of doha because he didnt want to lose his streak of 20 matches

  • @Marijuana645 ofcourse cause the man with the most succesfull career cares so much about a streak. Please don't be ignorant

  • handsome play of style

  • gooooooo Roger

    win AO again!!

  • Love his "Federer Express" shirt!

  • he looks so much better without the headband

  • I sure don't see any sign here that his back is an issue because he's really hitting the ball hard and with strong follow throughs. Good indicator that the problem must be pretty much gone.

  • rog best of luck for australian open <3

  • Yep.... new racquet. They say it has a better response than his old racquet. But we all know that what they sell in the stores and what he uses are different. He probably uses the same ones, but with a new paint-job. Good to see him glide around like a 25-year-old.

  • Just a joy to behold!

    Go Fed! 2012.

  • new racquet?

  • I want just one more title from you Roger... I'll pray for you.. You CAN if you just believe in yourself :) probably that's what's missing since your last title... Don't give it up this time... Good luck! :)

  • He is perfect. I really hope he is back to full health and that he wins his 17th grand slam title very soon.

  • he is middling those balls,so its perfect

  • He did have a back spasm so treated right they take 3 days to a week to heal Roger knows how to treat his back seeing how he has had back problems in the past , by looking at this light session his back looks great at this stage, he still has another 6 days till the open starts so im confident he can get back to 100% all the best for the australian open Roger can't wait to see you win that 17th slam :)

  • 1:16 WOW
