Ah! The original RE2 before they canned the idea of Elza Walker. I was a subscriber to GamePro magazine when they were still in production for RE2. I was bummed to find out they canned Elza for Claire. Still a good game though.

does this game have some of silent hill item graphics then it haves some visually graph bugs and well cant complain the sounds but feels bit too dangererous like running away from mob or boss theme why not make a old instrument themed classic Biohazard :P feels bit dum looking. BUT this does have its good sides too since it doesnt copy much of Biohazard it self, only in rooms here and there. like it ;)

I really don't get what all the complaining's about. Shitty graphics? Who cares? The only thing that's really important here is the excellent underlying concept. They're hoping to create a complete GDK to build RE games in the classic fixed-camera style without having to resort to extremely complicated and laborious hex-editing. Of course, you'd only know that was their aim if you'd bothered to view the site at the end, which I'd wager most haven't.

Keep going guys, this has a lot of potential.

It's a very, very limited process and painstakingly time consuming, glitchy, and difficult. With something like this, the possibilities are endless. One thing you should note is that the game's appearance is dependant on the artist and they were NOT trying to make it look pretty just yet...

Looks like an emulated style of Resident Evil-style gameplay through the manual rewriting of the original source code through close analysis of how the game functions. Since the original code was never released, this is the only alternative to "add new things". You can tell by the custom, albeit high poly models. They did a nice job so far. They'll share the source code, I hope. It will turn modding Resident Evil into the creation similar games.

It looks pretty good, except the character textures look way too clean and bright, and they almost appear to be cel shaded. They just really look out of place with the backgrounds.

@legodelegolas123 That isnt possible, you stupid fuck. Resident evil 1 is not compatible with anything from 1.5.... Or anything close to it. The backgrounds (Environment) are pre-rendered 2D background images and depend on angles for their physcial value.

The engine we use is our own and there is no way you might judge it so far. Terrible animations and glitches were always a placeholder, so were the rooms. Engine is the only important part so far. Want another RE2 mod? Go ahead and do it, we are not wasing time with something so limited and troubleful. Also there is at least one great mod of RE1.5 for RE2 SeiyaK0u in development already.

What really is important: Our primary goal is NOT remaking RE1.5, but building a perfectly fine engine and toolkit capeable of making RE-like games with ease. Opensource and accessible. RE1.5 is just a test, raw pre-pre-pre-alpha. It will improve slowlu with years along with the engine itself. If you are noobs then I say: this ist 1st version of RE 2 called 1.5 or RE: Prototype. It was delayed because of bad quality and it was very similar to RE1 . Hope that helps :)

Although it must have been hard to make a mod based on the small information found on 1.5, you could have definitely made this alot more presentable, you could of atleast made the character and enemy models resemble those found in Resident Evil games, the ones made by your team look like cartoon characters. Although it definitely looks like you have tried, you should study a bit more of 1.5's gameplay.

The backgrounds and rooms look great, but why would you do all of this in a different game engine than resident evil 2? The gameplay is the biggest factor, not just having 1.5 backgrounds.

@DevilWithoutaCuase The creator of the mod I k now did spend alot of time doing this mod and the backgrounds, and I commend him for that, but it's not smart to use a totally different engine for a classic game like RE especially when there are tons of modders out now who can change mostly everything in the game, backgrounds, animations, camera angles, enemies, etc. This mod isnt for me, and I'm a BIG TIME RE fan, I just dont jump on the bandwagon of anything that says RE like you.
