The US would gain cultural advancement from Puerto Rico being a state, and I don't particularly understand how you get off saying that they're raping us economically when they give us everything that we have now. We don't have an individualized econmy. We're fully dependent of them, so if anything, they would benefit, because as a state we'd contribute to the nation via federal taxes instead of leaching off of the government like we do now.

the only reason we're dependent on US is BECAUSE of our political status. political independence = economic growth for us, because we'll be able to trade and do business, etc.

The last time that we voted on our political status was in 1998, and the vote to continue with our colonial status wasn't a large margin. Statehood supporters have increased majorly, and Obama has promised to resolve our status issue in his first term, so I hope that he is a man of his word. Statehood for Puerto Rico, YES WE CAN!

The US would gain cultural advancement from Puerto Rico being a state, and I don't particularly understand how you get off saying that they're raping us economically when they give us everything that we have now. We don't have an individualized econmy. We're fully dependent of them, so if anything, they would benefit, because as a state we'd contribute to the nation via federal taxes instead of leaching off of the government like we do now.

Ok dlpine. Have you ever been abroad? if you had done that, you could have seen that the size of cars in europe are smaller than in the usa. In europe you see almost no pickuptrucks. I also saw a lot of fat people. American woman don't look very feminin, they rarely wear a nice skirt or dress. And that is to be seen in an objective way (I went twice to the usa). english is a derivative of germanic anyway. i went to u.s. once, but never again, the food was awlful,no culture ( apart from new orleans), we ended having to go all the way to argentina to get a desent stake(100% organic). also ,i wished we didnt have u.s. help in ww2 we would be better off fighter hitler on our own,after we'd defeated germany we could have set up a socialist republic and ban mcdonalds.
