  • give it to me and i can scratch it without smashing it :)

  • @giojo15 SO DID I !

  • i trusted u, but i got scratchs on my Nexus... what a....

  • check out my video for a nexus one video test using froyo! the video quality looks amazing!

  • Damn ur crazy I would not be scratching my phone wit anything jus in case lol

  • Does anyone know what kind of glass or whatever is on the N1. I know the Dell streak and Droid have Gorilla Glass. What does our Nexus One have. I've always had a screen protector on mine since day one. but I'm about to take it off for good. I'm wondering if overtime in my pocket I'll get scratches

  • use diamonds next time.

  • i got two scratches too...from keys...i was upset but it was probably the keys in my pocket (fucking house key....all my other keys have the edge pointed inwards)

  • That guy has probably been given a special NO SCRATCH screen. If any one wants to make a new video with me and my Nexus, I'll show that it's really easy to scratch the screen with a very simple key. I already have TWO scratches on my phone screen. One made by the key and the other one made while I was trying to get rid of the first one: Damned and damned again !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @alphea2010

or they gave you Sony Ericsson and not a Nexus One.

  • @Paskatomten, Thanks for the bright idea ! I'm examinating my phone right now and I wonder why it looks so much like a Nexus One and why "htc" and "Google" are stamped on its back !!!! Could it be a Sony Ericsson trick ? ;-)

  • @alphea2010

Yes. I have a HTC Desire and I have the same resistant screen as the guy in the video.

  • @Paskatomten.

    Lucky guy !

On my side, I'll stick to Apple as the G4 will soon be available.

The Nexus I have was bought through internet in USA, at the begining of the year (the Desire was not yet on the market in Europa), is perhaps a model that had problems that have been solved since... Who knows ?!?

It was a bad experience for me and... just to let you know, even the microphone of that bloody Nexus doesn't work ! I believe I'm gonna get rid of it (trash can !)

  • @alphea2010

Shame. I have friends who ordered their Nexus One from the US and they work perfectly.

You must have some really bad luck.

Good luck with the new iPhone.

  • nice thanks for nearly breaking your phone for us lol

  • it's scratch resistant....but not dent resistant! :( i have a little dent on the bottom left corner of my Nexus....i dropped it while it was in the pouch, and it just happened to land in my garage on the BOTTOM part, the unprotected part! so i ordered a Seidio case right after i noticed! lol!! great vid...i got a screen protector, double the protection, but am glad its not needed!

  • Bullshit.

  • AHHH. That was so painful to watch, but the result was satisfying.

  • check my nexus scratch test video on my profile, i really scratched it

  • Thank you so much Chuck Bartowski! lol

  • Just tried this on my phone, its incredibly impressive how hard it is to scratch!

  • geeze you sure have some huge balls. I feel safer about my phone now though :D

  • When I first got my LG dare I almost cried when I first got a scratch on it, so I still plan on getting a screen protector, but its good to know it might not be necessary.

  • great job ... proud of nex1

  • good job. thanks.

  • does the touch screen still work the same with the screen over it?

  • u mean does it still work with a screen protector on it?

it DEFINETLY made my screen laggg. alot. i had to double tap everything. i was using a zagg shield btw.

  • @errdizzle321 not sure if i want one now. but im scared to death of scraching it

  • Nice. Thanks for doing this for us.

  • Got my third iphone. One week and its already scratched.

  • Thanks man! That's a load off my mind - your video informed me that I do NOT need a screen protector. Pocket with car keys, here comes my phone!

  • bad ass!

  • Cool do u work at bestbuy?

  • wonderful... thank you.

  • spokker.... omfg so funny hahahaha

  • I think I may end up going bareback with mine.

  • Why? Because I have a college job and make really good money while getting some school paid for? Yup, horrible job.

  • i trusted u, but i scratchs on my Nexus, even put it in my packet..... what a

  • @omnhitori u know what... i trusted u and didnt use screen protect, but i scratch it even put in my pocket...

  • @giojo15 SO DID I !

  • @giojo15 SO DID I !

  • try shooting on it

  • How about testing it with sand/dust particles since you may have that in your pocket?

  • sand wil killlll it

  • Dude.. My nexus one has a mark on the screen from my work keys.. Dont think u dont need a screen protector.. Its a shame shiny new 530.00 phone got a mark...

  • @nuc70st just to add.. I neve drop it.. its been in my pocket or on my desk..

  • I dropped mine onto concrete. It left a tiny scratch on the screen, it's tiny, but it's there...

and a chip on the corner too :(

  • I just tried it with a Scalpel, AMAZING!

  • Hahah, If it held up to a scalpel id crap myself. XD

  • Nice!!

  • What happens if you pound it with a garlic hammer?

  • Then it becomes a vampire deterrent

  • Dude can you test the back case if it will pass scratch test?

  • dude..... his other video

  • Yes, I can do a new video with a hardcore back test. Give me a day or 2. =)

  • try with a hammer. or sandpaper!

  • Hahah, its the hardness scale. Glass is pretty up there friends. Its not bad, its about the same as my iPhone 3gs glass display.

  • WHOA! You have balls to do that to the nexus! lol

Are you sure the phone doesnt have a screen protector?

  • Nope, no protector. =)

  • @omnhitori Hey, so i wanted to buy a phone that didnt really need need a screen protector, but as the video suggests, I wont need one for my dream phone. BUt why hasnt Google suggest that it is scratch resistant to a large degree. I mean, it held up pretty good to the torture you put it thorugh, so why not advertise with this to show off? Just found it off. Anyways, THANKS FOR THE VID MANNN!!!!

  • @NintendoGameGuidez Glass can only be cut by Diamond.

  • LMFAO! Well executed sir. They should believe you now =D This phone is awesome! I love it so far.

  • try with a glass cutter LOL acer liquid performs the same

  • Hahaha, i should use a diamond ring to etch an "X" for Nexus.

  • Why is your left eyelash blond and your right brown

  • Not sure what it is, in 7th grade my eyelashes just turned white one by one and spread. Oh well. Never had complaints. You should see my mustache, its half white too.

  • Do you think they actually used Gorilla Glass like the Droid?

  • Nice test dude.

I wouldn't do that to my phone, if I wanted to keep it.

Are you getting an exchange from google for dust under screen etc?

  • yes and no, my volume down button is stuck and not clicking, making it very difficult to push, so they are sending me a new unit.

  • You have some big giant balls for doing that. Kudos and thank you.

  • =) someone had to do it

  • Shame it's so counter intuitive with single input touch haha

  • @xzerpolix

    Tried Dolphin Browser?

  • Yea I know about that, but in terms of it limiting games/applications and accuracy in typing. I think multi touch is over rated as hell but there is an amount of importance needed for an all touch device to support it.

    At least for my needs.

And by all means The phone doesn't want to be an Ipod touch that's ok with me, but Google really has no strong point in apps. And the Nexus one is just kinda a boob job for an ugly gal.

  • Games can have multitouch, its up to the app dev to implement it... the only thing that its really affecting right now is the keyboard, which as soon as the source code is released, it should be fixed. What do you mean google has no strong point in apps? If you mean games, then yeah maybe, but it has some great applications.

  • I've had "sloth" multi touch on my g1 since 1.5 and I've yet to see any game implement multi touch controls. What's up with the keyboard? I'm not too sure I herd about that one, if you're referring to it having multi touch I asked around before and the onscreen keyboard isn't open source like the Android Market and such when Cyan got in trouble.

There are some good apps, but it's been weeks since I've seen a good application in the just in section.

  • it has multi touch now so go take your multi guy touching ass somewhere else.
