  • What's do dang special about the provided USB cable? Why does the manual say I have to use that one? Doesn't that defeat the whole purpose of using a standard like USB?

  • @iotabits this kept me wondering too. I did a test and tried using the Cygolite supplied USB cable to connect an external hard drive and it won't spin up the drive. It does power up the light on the HDD enclosure but the drive won't spin up. This tells me the Cygolite cable is wired differently from the run of the mill USB cable with micro port.
