love this song...but this isn't the same one they play on TV...i remember the flute being more incorporated into the song. How to do I get the flute version?
@jimmyjoejoeshabado This is pianist David Benoit playing a tribute cover of Vince Guaraldi's composition. The original by the Guaraldi Trio w/ the flute, guitar and trumpet (from the 1966 TV special) was FINALLY released on CD in 2006 ("Charlie Brown Holiday Hits") … but you can find it here on YouTube right now … just search for "Pumpkin Patch 2010". It's the version we all know and love !!!!
OK, now I'n thinking seriously of having a romantic date with a girl awaiting in a pumpkin patch the appearence of a pagan god with Santa Claus complex under the moonlight...yep, this song might suit it well, I'm sure :)
@Blackmist324 Eduardo, when you profess such passion for music that stirs something in you(and judging by the Gymnopedie No.1 by Satie on your favorites, you have great taste) you are NEVER alone.
@thebrokenrattle Thank you so much for your kind words. Truth is, it's extremely rare to find someone who likes this kind of music; in fact, you are the first one who really appreciates my music tastes :(
@Blackmist324 exactly---something you can't quite put your finger on--childhood memories that are gone forever amid IRS, earthquakes, global warming, people on cell phones....aren't you glad when you could just listen to this wonderful waltz? It brings Halloweens past when my parents made our costumes, we walked from house to house--then compared bags of candy & who got what! Such sweet memories--And Vince G. was a genius in putting it into haunting jazzy chords that perfectly evoke childhood.
@princeeverlove thankyou--yes on both counts!! magic vince g.---being able to put halloween in those jazz chords, child hood innocence--a genius. well, lets get out those taffy apples, pop in charlie brown--and go back--even for a happy half hour.

Incredibly beautiful song, I like to hear it every autumn. Makes me feel extremely lonely, but somehow connected to something else.

this is a great version minus the unnecessary extra 5th chord at end of the head. 4 chords, keep it that way.

@littlefurballs I am glad I'm not the only one that gets emotional when listening to this. Around 40 seconds in, I start getting choked up.
