They are paper stickers. It could also be that the silicone got on the stickers and made the paper wet... Happened with mine.

He has a studio 3x3, studio 4x4 which broke, a Rubik's clock, and a square-1. He also has other puzzles like alcatraz and porcupine and that kind of stuff
