  • I did mine on my S10, it is sooo easy, I didnt even have somone to hold the door, no drilling, no need to remove the door, good video anyway

  • Something tells me your a complete amateur/

  • Hi there... How long did it take you to do this job from start to finish?

  • You know anything about the chevy silverado 2005....wondering where my abs fuse is? in the Truck or under the hood? thanks

  • thats all fine and dandy!but how did you put the spring back in?and if you did put it back how did you keep it from popping out under pressure?

  • @haileyzworld1 Go to napa (or your local parts store), and get a GM door spring compressor. It's 2 plates you compress with a nut and it tightens to compress the spring. Set it in the door jamb and loosen the bolt, the spring un-compresses and it's done! Best part it's only around 10 bucks for the tool.

  • Thanks for that last detail now lets hope i can do this on my wifes s10 blazer?

  • @akman360 and they will probably just loan it to ya

  • Hey, akman, i seen lots of photos of ur 94 chevy on flickr, and i seen u got rid of ur rust on ur undercarrage, how did u do that? did u spray paint it or what? im just curious, plz respond

  • Yup. I ground all the rust off, primed, sealed, and painted base clear. It wasn't perfect, but for a rattle can job it turned out pretty good.

  • oh, cuz my 94 has rust, i might do that, thanks :D

  • Instead of using a hammer and screwdriver to pound out the bushings, isn't there a bushing removal tool to press them out? If you pound too much you could throw the hinge latches out of square

  • my drivers side door on my 98 sierra sags will this fix my problem

  • Probably. But be advised that there are bushings on the door itself too, make sure you replace these as well when you replace the bushings on the mounts attached to the cab.

  • AH HA, that how u get the fuckin door off, iv been lookin for 2 weeks and i wasent even look this time and i found it MUAHHAHAHAH

  • or you can spray it with WD40

  • Just hit up my GM dealer. 50 bucks for a new driver side handle. I would have bought one at our local auto parts store for 20 bucks but it was the wrong color. got 8 new bushings for 5 bucks each ( WTF?!?!?) then they wanted 18 dollars for each pin so i decided to try napa. Napa had complete replacement kits that come with a pin, 2 bushings and the retainer ring thing for 8 dollars.... moral of the story is dont go to the gm dealer for anything.

How did you put the door spring back in?

  • I have the same interior on my chevy 91 k1500

  • I can resuse the pins right? My 94 trucks drivers door just started sagging BAD and wont close w/o slamming it! Must fix this weekend!

  • Ya, you can reuse the pins as long as you can't see gouges in them from worn bushings. If you can, just replace them as well. It's easier to do it all at once than having to take the door off again.

  • i have a 1994 2wd silverado, and my drivers door bushings are so worn that the door sags so much that i have to slam it to shut it. now that i watched this i know i can fix it.

  • I just did this on a 1990 sierra 3 months ago... it took about 1hr and those bushings are a rip off.
