I just found this record, Georgie and the Noisy Ghost and Georgie's Halloween at my favorite thrift store for .45 cents!!! My record player isn't working right now, so thanks so much for playing it for everyone to hear :)

What makes this video particularly awesome is not just that I had this album in the 70s and have fond memories of it, but you recorded the video with the turntable spinning -- how it was meant to be experienced.

WOW! What a treat. I am a school librarian and I used to play this record every year at Halloween. I lost it and thought I'd never hear it again. Thanks... I'll use this next fall.

I tell the dark dark story to my six year old and he loves it a I can't wait to show him where it comes from! I had this from the Public Library and copied it on cassette, unfortunately it was melted in a fire.

no the Plainview library is still up and expanded in all it's greatness, it was out house back in 94 that we lost alot of or childhood stuff but thanks to YT I can find it all again!

I remember those Scholastic records. Every once in a while, we kids in the classroom would receive the Scholastic Catalog and choose what items we want (mostly books).  The records I've ordered eventually were "Frog and Toad Together", "Bear's Magic and Other Stories" and "The Emperor's New Clothes." The last one I've ordered the book as well so I could read along.

I don't think I have them today because I was feeling too old for such stuff. Then again, I could've shared them on YouTube. :-P

i used to beg my mother too for the scholastic records

and i somehow always got em(i was a brat). thats how

i got my username chompo is the name of a candy bar

on the scholastic record A BIRTHDAY FOR FRANCES.

it was such an odd name that it stuck with me.

Hilarious! nursury rhymes changed to halloween rhymes! I used to eagerly await the delivery of scholastic books at school ! Remember looking at the catalogue and ordering books.USed my allowance to get what i wanted....Like "Bristle Face" story of a dog!

One that sticks with me was "Tikki Tikki Timbo". I was able to replace that one! I might have a couple more. You just don't find these in good shape very often. Glad you liked!!!!

I ADORE it! I need this record. Is that 33 1/3? Fabulous. I totally love that player as well. I SO remember this record. I think I had this. Everything is familiar on this. I am sure I had this. I think it was released later on Scholastic. I used to get all the Scholastic stuff. YES, the more I listen, the more I remember it. I absolutely had this. I want it!!! The Ghost of John.
