  • KPH AGAIN

  • Funny i timed you when you took off and got 7.6 seconds...

  • which one is the fastest VVTI or VVTL-i?

  • @pancracius09 vvtL-i

  • @pancracius09 VVTLI is what you want

  • i know a nissan that can get to 100km/h in 3.5sec factory tuned....you get me ;p

  • Ouch, I hate it when I launch like that. Feels like everything is breaking.

Also that's weird, I get to 60 MPH (~100 KPH) in 2nd gear?

  • @algorithmae Oh nevermind, I just watched it again.

  • @Boogers4dinner

    wanna line up?

  • 50bhp

  • And what id the difference in HP

  • @dragonforces666 50bhp

  • @dragonforces666 this engine has 140bhp and 18hp

  • @jakebrian12345 His wheels started spinning right after 0:02...hits 100 right at 0:09. If my math is correct, and it usually is, that's right around 6.95 seconds. I guess I might be wrong, I didn't use a calculator or anything.

  • @Atkins09 in kph. his tech goes to 240kph. pictures kinda blurry. thats about 60 mph in around 6/7ish seconds.

  • whats is the original engine in this car...VVT-I or VVTL-I

  • @dragonforces666 vvt-i is the celica gt and the vvtl-i is the celica gt-s

  • try like 8 seconds bud u no where near 6.95

  • That is a GT. Still a good Car. I am a Fan of Both Honda's and Toyota's Sports and I Currently Own an 02 Gts Trd 6 speed with a small Mod of AEM ColdAir. Gotta say The Gts takes on most cars in its Rank on the streets given the Power To Weight Ratio (2500) Pounds. Plus the Gts carrying a Yamaha Built Engine with Toyota's VVTL-i technology has the RPM Kicking in Full horses at 6,000 RPM, which gives u a second jolt to the seat, and thats when you start seeing your apponents in the rear viewmiror

  • Did you see that? Your fuel gauge went down two bars. :D

  • Lol trying to make it sound like it's fast by saying 0 - 100 in6.95 seconds.. when it's in kmh.. that's cute.

Actually, I have a 03 Celica GT, but I ended up swapping a 2zz w/ c60 in it. Also have mods on it that'll make it have around +/- 195whp, still not fast, no, but it's fine for a DD. And yes, this appears to be a GT, seeing how it redlines at 6.8 (7k) and not 7.8k - 8.2k

Your car sounds good. TRD muffer?

  • nice gear change

  • thats good for a 1zzfe

  • wuts year?

  • wow km/h you gotta be fucking kidding me.

  • Comment removed

  • you need to specify, thats kilometers not miles per hour.

  • @toyoda4life 0-100 is usually recognised as km/h, 0-60 is usually recognised as mp/h

    =='

  • @jing713 are you saying people dont record their 0-100mph times.

  • @toyoda4life no, but a system that isn't base 10 is silly.

  • @toyoda4life that was a 0-60 it was kph

  • I think that's about 8 sec:/

  • that is kph. not really that fast

  • obviously when they design the engine they keep in mind that people are going to rev then engine to the redline so why would they make such a high redline if it will destroy the engine. i understand the engine will wear out but they do design it to take some sort of a beating..

  • @Unoo911 the redline is high because thats where the power it, also because you arent always driving it that high, also because its a toyota engine... its made for high rpm and reliablibity.

  • @Skyler04061993 didnt i say it was designed to be reliable even tho it revs high?

  • @Unoo911 yes but that has nothing to do with what the conversation is about, you asked why the redline is so high and therefore i answered... end of story

  • @Skyler04061993 why are you trying to argue with me? i said why would they make such a high redline if it will destroy the engine? as in why would they not limit it to lower revs.. i already knew it makes the power in the high revs... and i already knew that it will still last a long time even though it revs high

  • @Unoo911 well if you had it all figured out you shouldnt have asked. my bad for answering your question which is apparently stupid since you already knew the answer... wow

  • @Skyler04061993 i didnt ask any question i was referring to thejaredchannel because he said redlining aint good.. sorry i didnt hit the reply button on his comment..

  • for the size of the engine in this car, the celica gt is fast compared to American 1.8l engines! go celica!

  • more of a VTEC type guy ;)

  • it depends. redlining is necessary for staying in the power band. holding it in the redline however, usually proves fatal for your engine. lol

  • redlining aint good for your engine bruh :/ but yeah i got the same engine in my 2003 celica its fun

  • its 145 hp

  • 180

  • @flip3d no but the gt-s is AROUND 170-175

  • It has more then 140hp you fucking idiots. 2zz-ge engines have 142kW (ish,)

  • TS has a rev range of 8000 this has the 7000rpm so it is the model with 143 hp.... :D i do not belive my eyes... my Celica t20 st202 does not go so fast and it has 177hp....

  • with vvt-i this only possible down the big big hill :) vvtL-i FTW

  • 6.95 on your dreams friend....if you put a garett maybe......

  • *cough* kmh... 7 seconds isnt that quick for 0-60

  • it's not bad. beats the average car

  • @Totenhosen17 jap is it^^

  • What mods do you have? I have the same car and get to 60 mph (100kph) in about 8 seconds if im lucky. Any upgrades? or were you going downhill?

  • air filter(or any decent 1 + KnM work well), full stainless exorst, and an erthing kit, and do the jenral crap no 1 ever duse like upgraded spark plugs. get a ducktin tube leading from the front vent to yor airfilter.

id start with an erthing kit they make everyfing so much more resposive.

i have the same car and my m8 as all the mods and his is alot faster + quiker.

  • what are your mods?? pretty quick!!

  • they highest the vvti-l (gts) rev to is 8,200 rpm not 9000 rpm you idiot

gts is the vvti-l but americans like to call it gts

and vvti have 140 hp and rev to 7000 rpm

so get your facts right klockblocked

  • I have a GT, they rev to 6,800 RPM.

The early GT-S models (2000-2002) rev to 8,300 RPM, and the later ones (2003-2005) rev to 7,800 RPM.

  • lol youre talking like you know everything yet you say VVTI-L

    its a VVTL-I

  • wow whats power?!?!?

  • does that have vtec??!! lol jk wow 143 bhp so much power

  • It doesn't have VTEC, but it has a system that does kinda the same.

  • not really the same but has to do with valve stuff..

    vtec = valve open more

vvti = over lapping both valves

  • But vvtl-i would be more similar to vtec?

  • well not really 2 different systems different concept.. only thing similar is that it does something with the vavles

  • But they give a similar result, at least, make the engine go crazy at high rpm. ^^

  • if you see it that way then yea but sux vvti dont' kick in till 6k i think :(

  • the VVTi is throughout the rev range and from what I have heard you feel it after around 4k. the VVT-Li is on another level, at 6,200 rpm "lift" kicks in and you get a boost of 50hp, nothing quite like it.

  • And with the way the shifting is set up, you stay in lift from 3rd gear on :D

  • well then, maybe there's difference between european and US version, if that's the case..... my bad. But check my film and my gauges ( I know they're custom made but they were made same as my original ones) I've got a GT (1zz 143hp) and I've got rpm till 8000 and 240 on speedo. But as I said mine is EU

  • this seems like a close race for my prelude, cant find anyone with a gts that would want to race

  • that's a gt.

  • uhhh tachometer got max 8000rpm speedo got 240km/h even the movie info says vvt-i NOT vvtL-i ...ummmmm

    IT"S A GT!!!!

  • lol, i have the same celica, not a gt and the rpmmeter goes to 8000

    the gt goes to 9000

    so its NOT a GT

  • fucking retards either ur bullshitting bout what car you have or you just dont know yours the celica in the video is a fucking gt the first thing that gives it away is the slowness and second the rpms that simple i have a stock gt-0s and it pulls 3 times harder than that and my rpms go up to 9k

  • ah yeah right, in america this version is called the gt. this celica in the video is the 143 bhp version

  • gt-s goes to 9000 gt goes to 8000. make sure you own a car before you try and tell people theyre wrong about it.

  • i own this car, but i thought that the gt was the stronger version. But appaerently in the US gt is the normal celica and gtS is the stronger one

  • Comment removed

  • A GTS 8000 rpm, a GT 7000 rpm

  • On the GT there's a fuel cutoff at 7200.. I'm sad, some bitch playing racecar in her civic fishtailed me and now my Celica's destroyed :'(

  • @rolmopsss Depends of the country I guess. Here (Canada) the 140 hp version is the Gt (VVT-I, 6800 RPM max) and the 180Hp is the Gt-S (VVTL-I, 8200 or so Max RPM) Looks like you've got a more powerful version in your country...

  • @straightupnirle you wrong

  • i'd race you! i have a 00 gt-s with exhaust, headers, cac intake, and stage 2 clutch

  • and i bet you i'd still mop you

  • i don't think so.......

  • I hate Hondas. Everybody's got em'. LOL They're everybody cars. LOL I'll stick with my Celica GT-S.

  • @Boogers4dinner everyones car cant run 11s without bolt ons.

  • @Boogers4dinner Why you hate Hondas?Hondas have better gas engines than Toyota !!!

  • @Boogers4dinner : every sports honda destroy this toyota...every sport car got em'...my integra type r destroy your shit celica when you want! honda is much better than toyota in sports car...this is a fact!

  • @hondaorido honda's are nice and all, but I'd still rather have a supra or celica

  • @hondaorido gt comes stock with fractue split forged connecting rods and a timing chain, Ive owned integra, rsx and now celica..... my 90' teg was the widest and lowest of them, but for rsx vs celica.... I like the way the celica handles, the rsx has to much body roll and over respinsive artificial steering.

  • @Boogers4dinner agreed i like hondas but to many ppl have them, and too many are boosted with turbo. i have a 1999 nissan sentra, thats my everyday driver and im going with the basics right now. with short ram and racing spark plug wires, for now.

  • @Boogers4dinner Celica's are girl's cars.

  • its that the 140bhp 1 ?

  • My 2.2L tunnel ram will own the shit out of that.

  • And a Lotus Elise (1.8L) would own the crap out of your 2.2L...pretty easy to pick a bigger faster car. Dick

  • LOL. Someone is always talking shit, to which you talk batter shit. You win.

  • he got owned

  • we're talking TOYOTAS dumbass.

  • B08ms3- i really doubt you have an Elise in your garage

CPUOverclocker64 - BATTER shit? like battered fish? try bEtter jackass.

younkedjj- how did i get owned?

  • its 1.8 VVTI,105kw

  • need da VVTLI gt is like missing sumthing

  • You hit the nail on the head, I think Gt's are like our little sisters.. haha

  • my gts is stock

i wanna get da blitz supercharger:P

and gt300 apr kit and sum deep rims

    and yer dats it probly

    wbu?

  • for power..turbo > supercharger

  • hiya guys and girls I wanna say "welcome to the family". Ive just bought a 2002 Vvti celica yestoday and loving every second of it. Such a sexy car not sure weather to custom paint it and the like or just leave it alone and let it be. Considering I've only drove a 1.0 litre Lupo and Im 22 ao this is a step up in the right direction... up and atom lol

  • gt vvti with super charger will be cool =p

  • I have a 1ZZ Corolla (same motor as GT) supercharged, and it IS pretty cool :P

  • realy good!

  • I have done better time in my stock Gt power shifting through gears. That way the car doesn't hold back between gears.

  • ahhh its just not the same with out the lift its just revs slow LOL want to fall asleep LOL

  • GT's are not that fast

  • it's a gt

  • 0-62.5 mph

  • u guys are all idiots. its 0-100 kilometers u dumb fucks

  • Nice!

I own a '01 Celica. Love the car.

  • this isn't even a gt-s and it's fast. imagine what a gt-s would do with 8000rpms

  • well i didn't mean very fast, but i consider anything that goes to 60mph in under 7.5 seconds isn't slow. this being around 7 seconds is about a second slower to 60 than an s2000 or something like that, which isn't a slow car. you see what I'm trying to say? :D

  • you do know thats 100k not mph. And thats not fast at all but decent for a GT

  • i know its kilometers, and its pretty good for a front wheel drive that has only 140bhp.

  • Umm i have a Gt and 0-60mph under 7 sec. it's pretty fast for a 1.8l engine. The celica gt engine is faster than integra's 1.8l so they are fast.

  • lol.. what u said was acceptable till the part you mentioned that a celica gt 1.8 is faster than integra's b18c family.. Look around youtube for b18c 0-100 and u will find out why..

  • Not b18c because that's the vtec line of the honda's b18 motors. But the 1.8 that are nonj vtec like in integra ls are same or a little less powerful tan the Gt's regardless of them having the same 140 hp. Now if you want to talk about b18c why dont you compared that to the Gts 1.8 vvtl-i 180 hp motor.

  • if u compare the 1zz to the b18 that isnt fair.. thats liek vtec vs nothing.. u shud compare it to 2zz.. vtec vs lift.

  • what a berk.... get it revved man!!!!!!!!!!!! changing gear with a thousand revs of prime power left

  • Yeah, even the GT Celica seems to have a little more kick to it just as it hits 7000. At least the european version (145 hp). Weird, but fun.. until the limiter says no.

  • Is it stock?

  • jes
