I found some things about the haunted house. Apparently, according to a historian I know, locals were killed there. Supposedly, U.S needed the land and the people didnt want to give it up. So they killed them. I dont know if thats true, but its what I was told.
It's a gorgeous trail, really hard to ride in the mud though, I did a ride today, and it started raining half way through the ride. It got so difficult, my mountain bike couldnt go through it cleanly, i ended up having to get off at nolands ferry, and riding to my destination on the interstate. Do you know the deal with the haunted house near Pennyfield?
Nice! Thanks for posting this. The tunnel is a part of my life and I have enjoyed it many times. How'dya manage to ride through? Bike light? It is DARK in there! Thanks again for this video.
Thanks for the comment. I have been filming my mountain biking while holding my camera, so it was not too bad. I did not have a light. Please check out my other videos of tunnels from Pennsylvania.

I HIGHLY recommend that people don't ride through. Walk your bikes.

I did it while participating in the Rail Trail Sojourn from D.C. to Pittsburgh in the summer of 2007. I will go back someday.

me and a friend rode through there without a light. probably stupid, but it was definitely the highlight of the entire towpath.
