@horsechick1996 They make you more involved in the music itself, since you have to carefully place the needle and all the other stuff. That's what they have. The thrill of making it slightly trickier. :)
I love going through my mum and dad's collection of vinyls, it sounds so much better than playing it from a CD! I remember listening to them when I was like 6 years old in the start of the 90's haha, I still listen to them (mostly whilst doing washing up)
I wish I was born within the time of the vinyl and the good ol' days. though mp3's are more compatible (right word choice?), the vinyl looks awesome to use. and this is coming out from a middle schooler.
vinyl was cool,i had some.the sound is different to mp3,it's a different kind of sound. ask around, maybe somone have some venyls, and in some stores you can buy that old things. hold my thumbs for you, take care
mp3's have a purpose though - between them and vid/music sites, any band can start, gain popularity, record, edit, and sell their music on a low budget without a record company and distrobution taking 35% cut. Not to mention the 50% extra for the retail markup.
Whoever says CD's are better than vinyl is insane. There's so much more depth with vinyl. CD's are digital, they lose alot of the sound, the only plus is they're more compact. IMO, vinyl will always be #1. You just can't duplicate the sound quality. Idk, if you can't hear it, you don't have the ears and never will hear it. I'm young, and I still choose it over digital.
Anyway, I love this song. Always have. Thanks for uploading it. :)
As I said, if you can't hear it, you never will. It has a depth that digital music will never be able to recreate.
Although, CD's cut out alot of the "fuzzy" noise, that drives alot of people wild. But in all honesty, it could totally differ with a new cartridge/needle and a 'not-so-scratched-up' album.
I'm by no means dissing digital in any way; just saying there is stuff that is cut out when changed. Vinyl is forever. Period.

I'm talking about digital music. Digital music today recorded in a studio with the best technology doesn't leave anything out. Once it is burned onto a CD/DVD the quality will lessen, but who even buys CDs to listen to these days? Everything is either off iTunes or other places to buy music online.
Never heard it before that. I just know that if I listen to something nowadays, "digitally remastered" or anything of the such, and then I go back and listen, it's different. But that is true, the only mp3 version of anything that comes even close is FLAC IMO, lol.
ALSO! Thank you for putting up a good argument and backing up your points. Nobody does that anymore. :P
But I guess it all comes down to personal opinion. :)
I agree totally. I've salvaged an old record player from the students down the road (they chucked it out) and I'm determined to make it work...though all the wires are melted and I'll probably kill myself trying.
i love vinyl. cant beat it. only downside is the fact that you can over play it. i wish i had a huge collection of beatles and simon and garfunkel vinyl.
Simon & Garfunkel vinyl is fairly cheap and easy to find in the US. Look for the MONO versions of their albums (except Bridge Over Troubled Water, which was only stereo). Finding good Beatles vinyl in the US is pretty tricky, as British Parlophone/Apple pressings are superior to US Capitol/Apple pressings.
Sometimes if we were desparate as kids for a new needle lol we would borrow one of moms sewing needles and with a lil adjustment it usually worked ....:-)
i find that antique stores and shrift shops are the best places to find good vinyl for cheap. i just got bridge over troubled waters(in good shape) today for 2 bucks.
I love the sound of vinyl. Honestly, CD's may have better sound quality, but records just sound COOL. and 50 years from now what do you think is going to be worth more? I hope there will always be people who collect records.
It's a somewhat easy to find record. There's several copies on ebay right now, orignals and otherwise. The Columbia Hall of Fame version has the same great MONO mix as the original single like in my video (same goes for all or most other Columbia Hall of Fame singles)
i mean yea i have a certain music choice but i repspect what other people like and it pisses me off when they dont respect mine...it is!! this music uses actual instruments but the music in nightclubs is all made using computers
well some people like it..idk how!!..but they do so they keep making it but idk whats worse the music or the dancing at a nightclub!! seriously the way people dance at them is just horrendous!! but hey shitty dance skills goes along with the shitty music i guess
I completely agree with the argument on how music made by computers is way less authentic than by instruments. And although i have been a musician my entire life, i appreciate SOME night club music as it makes me want to dance. i love connecting with music and if it means i have to slide around like a skank with my sister and her friends, i'm okay with it. Sometimes we need some diversity.
They still do. There is actually a resurgence of vinyl these days. With modern record players, vinyl has proven to produce the best quality of sound above even CD's. Go check Amazon or even Ebay for your favorite albums on vinyl, as I'm sure they make them.

I kinda understand what you are saying.
It's kinda like back in the 30's they had crappy recording equipment but it gave a special effect to the song, today most new tracks sound so clear.
even some vinyls do. e, whatever though lol.
