  • Happy 70th Birthday, Art Garfunkel!

  • Happy 70th Birthday, Paul Simon!

  • @horsechick1996 They make you more involved in the music itself, since you have to carefully place the needle and all the other stuff. That's what they have. The thrill of making it slightly trickier. :)

  • this song is for Roy Scheider

  • @horsechick1996

    Mojo..

  • very good

  • i like this sound

  • Happy Birthday, Art Garfunkel! And Happy Very Belated Birthday to Paul SImon!

  • thank you very much for uploading!

  • Vinyl is a fucking hipster format, stop trying to act like you were born in the fucking 60's and buy an MP3 player.

  • wow i heard this about a year ago and thought it was a new song.. how old is this song?

  • ice ice baby mandolin remix

search it watch it, plxx and thank you

  • saudade dos meus 17 anos tempos de escola turma legal do Luiz Viana

  • The Greatest music machine ever, miss that old times.

    Vinyl : )

  • vinyl is a lost art!!!!! I hope that it never goes away! Lets pass it on to our kids!

  • @feesh13937

I totally agree with that, Im 20 and my father when arrived from South Africa bring an old ninyl with all Beatles, paul mccartney..

Good times Hope that it never goes away

  • i HAVE a turntable. best thing in the world!

  • @hippiechick19 Found a terrific Technics turntable and receiver for $10 on Craigslist! Glad I saved my records!!!

  • @Mamasan41 got it for the same price at a tag sale. was wonderful!

  • I love going through my mum and dad's collection of vinyls, it sounds so much better than playing it from a CD! I remember listening to them when I was like 6 years old in the start of the 90's haha, I still listen to them (mostly whilst doing washing up)

  • That´s cool :-)

  • If your looking for records in good condition for a reasonable price, go to Jungle Music in Shawano Wisconsin.

  • Thank you so much for that song. Nothing sounds better than vinyl. And what is better than Simon and Garfunkel on vinyl.

  • très belle chanson!

  • I wish I was born within the time of the vinyl and the good ol' days. though mp3's are more compatible (right word choice?), the vinyl looks awesome to use. and this is coming out from a middle schooler.

  • vinyl was cool,i had some.the sound is different to mp3,it's a different kind of sound. ask around, maybe somone have some venyls, and in some stores you can buy that old things. hold my thumbs for you, take care

  • mp3's have a purpose though - between them and vid/music sites, any band can start, gain popularity, record, edit, and sell their music on a low budget without a record company and distrobution taking 35% cut. Not to mention the 50% extra for the retail markup.

  • parada :D:D:D

  • Whoever says CD's are better than vinyl is insane. There's so much more depth with vinyl. CD's are digital, they lose alot of the sound, the only plus is they're more compact. IMO, vinyl will always be #1. You just can't duplicate the sound quality. Idk, if you can't hear it, you don't have the ears and never will hear it. I'm young, and I still choose it over digital.

Anyway, I love this song. Always have. Thanks for uploading it. :)

  • As I said, if you can't hear it, you never will. It has a depth that digital music will never be able to recreate.

Although, CD's cut out alot of the "fuzzy" noise, that drives alot of people wild. But in all honesty, it could totally differ with a new cartridge/needle and a 'not-so-scratched-up' album.

I'm by no means dissing digital in any way; just saying there is stuff that is cut out when changed. Vinyl is forever. Period.

  • Never heard it before that. I just know that if I listen to something nowadays, "digitally remastered" or anything of the such, and then I go back and listen, it's different. But that is true, the only mp3 version of anything that comes even close is FLAC IMO, lol.

ALSO! Thank you for putting up a good argument and backing up your points. Nobody does that anymore. :P

But I guess it all comes down to personal opinion. :)

  • well, CDs way be made with "the best technology" but technology is always changing, and it won't be "the best" for too much longer

  • I kinda understand what you are saying.

It's kinda like back in the 30's they had crappy recording equipment but it gave a special effect to the song, today most new tracks sound so clear.

even some vinyls do. e, whatever though lol.

  • yeah, songs on CDs now may be clearer, but they feel like they are just missing something the reccord has

  • I'm with u Miss

  • I agree totally. I've salvaged an old record player from the students down the road (they chucked it out) and I'm determined to make it work...though all the wires are melted and I'll probably kill myself trying.

  • Lol, oh dear. Might be a good time to go and look around at a second hand store, huh? lol

    Best of luck though! =D

  • Good luck to you, although, to die trying would be a hell of a way to go!! :D

  • who created it and who did the cover was it the lemonheads that covered it ??

  • I heard "coo-coo-ka-chu" so many times I thought about divorcing my husband and changing my name. LOL - Thanks for sharing, cparamo. Great job.

  • i love vinyl. cant beat it. only downside is the fact that you can over play it. i wish i had a huge collection of beatles and simon and garfunkel vinyl.

  • Simon & Garfunkel vinyl is fairly cheap and easy to find in the US. Look for the MONO versions of their albums (except Bridge Over Troubled Water, which was only stereo). Finding good Beatles vinyl in the US is pretty tricky, as British Parlophone/Apple pressings are superior to US Capitol/Apple pressings.

  • You have a record player? My dad has one, but he broke the needle and we cant find where to buy it... TT^TT

  • Sometimes if we were desparate as kids for a new needle lol we would borrow one of moms sewing needles and with a lil adjustment it usually worked ....:-)

  • Realy? Cool, i hope it works!

  • i find that antique stores and shrift shops are the best places to find good vinyl for cheap. i just got bridge over troubled waters(in good shape) today for 2 bucks.

  • @lotsologan have vinyls of both the beatles and simon and garfunkle :)

  • I love the sound of vinyl. Honestly, CD's may have better sound quality, but records just sound COOL. and 50 years from now what do you think is going to be worth more? I hope there will always be people who collect records.

  • i love the graduate!

  • I was singing this song out loud around my m8s nd I ended up linking dem da song nd lyk now der all addicted to it.

Im glad to hav friends who dnt care wat i listen to nd dnt mock me about it. =)

  • id pay so much money for that record lol

  • It's a somewhat easy to find record. There's several copies on ebay right now, orignals and otherwise. The Columbia Hall of Fame version has the same great MONO mix as the original single like in my video (same goes for all or most other Columbia Hall of Fame singles)

  • Great song! I love it!

  • this 45 rides faster than the original... is between A and A# :)))))

  • This is one of those tracks that will never burn itself out!

  • I have a Record collection, I really do love Records, mind you has anyone ever seen a 16RPM Record, surely they where used for Talking Books?

  • COOL!xD

  • COOL!

  • Man i love this song.

  • im sixteen but sound of silence is better but there both really good

  • WOOH

  • I may be 16, but this is one of my favourite songs.

  • You're not the only one :) Love this!

  • lol im 16 to and im secretly in love with this song!! none of my friends can know or theyll laugh at me!!

  • we should be able to choose what music we like and not be dissed for it lol

  • very true...but unfortunately thats not in my case..i still secretly love this song tho!!

  • Its just so annoying that we get picked on for our choice of music. at least this is better than half that stuff you get in nightclubs.

  • i mean yea i have a certain music choice but i repspect what other people like and it pisses me off when they dont respect mine...it is!! this music uses actual instruments but the music in nightclubs is all made using computers

  • I know! That nightclub music shouldn't even be called music! It should be called noise!

  • well some people like it..idk how!!..but they do so they keep making it but idk whats worse the music or the dancing at a nightclub!! seriously the way people dance at them is just horrendous!! but hey shitty dance skills goes along with the shitty music i guess

  • hahah I totally agree!

  • I completely agree with the argument on how music made by computers is way less authentic than by instruments. And although i have been a musician my entire life, i appreciate SOME night club music as it makes me want to dance. i love connecting with music and if it means i have to slide around like a skank with my sister and her friends, i'm okay with it. Sometimes we need some diversity.

  • Nightclubs are just for one-night-stands and shouting to be heard in the loud music and crowded dancing.

  • Im 19 and this girl im with is 24 and she jokes that this song is about us XD

  • If it were the other way around with you being 24 and her 19 no one would even comment!

  • lol i like older women too

  • forrest gump is just the best movie ever made.

  • I agree

  • yep

  • song rocks

  • How charming.

  • YEAH!

  • "As a rather young individual - vinyl's still maintain an aura unretractable from the foundations of modern music;

arguably, without such influences, CD's wouldn't have materialized into existance in the first place"

  • Forrest Gump is my idol.

    And Iove this song.

  • "...Where have you gone Joe DiMaggio?..."

  • I watched the Graduate today i liked it

  • yea cool movie :D hehe but i recommend the book, had to read it for my graduation

  • :o omfg it's spinning..

  • @sIm4h16 that because that Vinyl ( LP ) record LOL I love vinyl too

  • @sIm4h16 yeah, like my soul

  • just love it

  • Good ol' vinyl

  • a Jordi y a mi nos mola mogollon

  • god, I wish i was around when they used vinyl

  • They still do. There is actually a resurgence of vinyl these days. With modern record players, vinyl has proven to produce the best quality of sound above even CD's. Go check Amazon or even Ebay for your favorite albums on vinyl, as I'm sure they make them.

  • I still collect vinyl! There's something about an LP that other formats just cannot replace! And I agree, as I have not noticed any compromise as far as sound quality is concerned! (Of course, one must take very good care of one's LP's...) eBay, for sure, is great for finding LP's -- especially rare ones that you'd never come across on your own. (Also, & it's a pity, but I've noticed so many second hand record stores closing down...)

  • i have the same one. amazing! :)

  • The popping and snapping that CDs were designed to eliminate took away some of the "character" of the "classics" like this one. :(

  • Yeah, but think about what you gain on a CD. The sound quality is much better.

  • great!!!!!

  • Man, I miss vinyl, on the Technics turntable, audia technica cartridge, sprayed with "disc-protect" and cleaned with D3 solution before every play. Those were the days...

  • Fantastic

  • great!

  • Great !

  • wow, that`s so nice!;)

  • Epic song!

  • your recording is romantic thanks a lot!!!!

  • wow found myself a real jewel fanx for the vid.

  • Great idea the one of videorecording the old stereo.

  • faltaba la version original que es esta! bien (lol original version its god!)

  • it's at the correct beat

  • A cool idea, but I think the 45 is running at about 48. You should get that looked at.

  • maybe your 45's running at 43, this sounds fine to me... unless my 33 is running at 35 ;-)

  • how in the world can you tell?

  • thats cool

  • Its good. I would love to hear/see bookends like this

  • wow dude are you that stupid? thats the ORIGINAL vinyl recording. i'm amazed it's in such good condition!

  • I think red425 meant the recording device used to get this on youtube?...but I could be wrong. Fabby song!

  • for sure

  • Awesome song! Love hearing it on Vinyl too. :)
